This is the third book in the “Delta Force Brotherhood” series by author Sheryl Nantus. This story was such a great addition to the series and I felt it could be as a standalone as with the other two books in this series. I love that the author has given us smart heroines coupled with alpha males in this series. The heroine in this story is not only smart; she’s brave, and loyal to those she cares about. But happens when those she’s loyal to, aren’t what they seem? When Ally goes to the Devil Playground in hopes to get help finding her stepbrother she finds more then she bargains for. Trey Pierce has used his computer skills to help the Brotherhood find those hidden secrets and get justice for those in need. But will his skills help him with answers to his past or destroy his future? Guess would have to read to find these answers for yourself. I can’t wait to read more from this series and author!

Received in exchange for a honest review.

You feel for Trey from the beginning. He is a good caring guy who lost his best friend and was trying to find him justice. Only he lost his way to what was important and that is friendship, love and forgiveness. He didn’t forgive himself for not being able to help his friend, he couldn’t let many in because he was afraid and he was frustrated because he never found the person who took away his friend.

Ally is a caring, smart woman who was treated as less by her family. What she thought of as them taking her in when her parents died and her becoming a part of their family was them meeting an obligation and finding someone to take care of their son’s messes when he got older. Ally loved her cousin and was devastated with all his actions when he went missing in vegas. Not only the actions than but in his past as well.

Ally shows up at Trey’s workplace because she is needing people to be discreet in finding her brother. Their business depends on it. Only what she finds is more. She finds a man to love and love her, betrayal and a cousin and family who isn’t who she thought they were. She is put in danger because of her cousin’s addictions and past. We see her take the reigns of the company and do good only to have her cousin cause destruction when he comes back. We see him never take responsibility for his actions because he was always led to believe he wasn’t and they were always taken care of even Ally did this to an extent. We see Ally and Trey fall in love as he lends her support, friendship and honesty in things. He sees that she is smart and good at what she does. HE saw she was a good person stuck in a bad situation and gave her confidence to do her cousin’s job as well as her own. It was hard when Ally found out that Trey had something else he was trying to do at the same time he was helping her. She pushed him away and built up walls. ONly her cousin showed his true form and she began to see a different side to her family and she wanted to do what is right.

the story is intriguing, full of danger, and intimacy. Trey and Ally work together well and the chemistry sizzles. Watching Ally see the masks of her family members come off was hard but fascinating as well. Seeing Trey be the support Ally needed but also find closure in the end was wonderful. The story is fast paced and has many twists in it you don’t expect. Great first book in the series.

Will their attraction to each other, withstand the secrets that must come to light?
Published by Entangled Publishing and written by Sheryl Nantus. Were swept away again into the world of the Delta Force Brotherhood. Men who are willing to put anything on the line to help anyone who is unable to help themselves. In Sheryl Nantus 3rd book in this series. It is Trey Pierce turn to put all or nothing on the line.
The only difference, this is personal. Trey spent years trying to find the person responsible for leaving him wounded and his best friend dead. Now, he might have found the person responsible. However, justice might not be sweet, when he becomes attracted and later involved with Alley Sheldon.
Alley Sheldon is a woman on a mission. A mission to find her wayward brother to save the company that has been in her families for years. This was nothing new for Alley! Though her brother was the oldest, Alley, herself was the more responsible one. But focusing on finding Vincent has become difficult when Trey Pierce was assigned her case. Getting involved with him wasn’t planned, yet she can’t deny the attraction that she feels for him.
Hard Pursuit was another exceptional story. This too like the other book that I read in this series, can be read as a stand-alone. The plot was well written, but the mystery behind the accident wasn’t a big mystery to solve.
Sheryl Nantus did a wonderful job of writing characters that you can get connected to. Even those characters that you can’t help but dislike. Hard Pursuit an exceptional story leaving us readers to wonder if a casual meeting is ever an accident.

when Ally Sheldon's brother goes missing, she'll do anything to find him, even if it means going to the Brotherhood for help. However, she never expected to meet Trey Pierce, a man that could change her life and uncover a dark secret to do with her family; a secret that could destroy everything they've worked so hard for since justice deserves to be served. Will Ally walk away from the only family she's ever known to have a chance at happy ever after with Trey, or will their past demons keep them apart?

Having really enjoyed the first two stories of this series, I couldn't wait for this next instalment, and even though I had trouble warming up to the heroine in the beginning, Ms. Nantus has delivered another fantastic read for this series. The way this story started had me liking the hero immediately, as he's a computer genius that will use any means necessary to discover information that he's been searching for during the past few years. Will he find the information he's looking forward? Will it lead him to getting justice for what happened? However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine met where things really took off, as the heroine could be just the lead he needs.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories; their shared past in terms of what happened to him that leads back to her family; and I loved the obstacles these two had to overcome because family is important to the heroine and I wanted to know whether she'd finally see the truth and walk away from them for the hero or whether her loyalty to family was more than her love for Trey. Furthermore, in the beginning, I thought the heroine was weak for defending her brother when it seems he continues to be at fault and everyone lets him get away with it. When was she going to finally say enough is enough and do something about it? However, as this story progressed the heroine did change my mind, as she begins to realize how much her brother needs help and the only way to do that is to start standing up for herself instead of defending his reckless actions all the time. Will she discover the information she needs to finally help him?

While the hero, he's been through a lot and I could understand why he was so obsessed with finding the person responsible for what happened to him and a friend years ago because he deserves justice. However, I couldn't help but sympathize with him either, because he doesn't want Ally to be hurt by his secret, but at the same time he needs to know to get closure from his past. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero is how resilient he is when it comes to everything he faces, especially the moment where he faces off against Ally's brother; a moment where things could change for his and Ally's growing relationship. Will the heroine finally wake up and see how stupid it is of her to keep defending her brother when there's no remorse in him for things that he's done?

Overall, Ms. Nantus has delivered a wonderful and very engaging read in this book where the chemistry between this couple is intense; the romance heats up the pages and does this couple's chemistry justice; and the ending had me loving the heroine's bravery and the fact that she was finally willing to do the right thing when it came to Trey and helping him get what he wanted most -- justice for his friend. I also liked the decision Trey made in the end for his future with Ally. I would recommend Hard Pursuit by Sheryl Nantus, if you enjoy the enemy to lovers trope or books by authors Pamela Clare, Katie Reus, Misty Evans and Kaylea Cross.

Great suspense romance! This is my first read in the series and I can’t wait to read the first two. I love military romances and this is a good one. Fantastic characters with a great connection and chemistry. Terrific storyline with all the elements of a great suspense romance. Worth the read.

It was amazing beautiful book that I ever read in a long time

I couldn't wait for the next book in this series and wasn't disappointed. It had the same great friendships and romance. I always appreciate when the author helps you remember what happened in a previous book, rather than assuming you remember it. There were several things that I kind of had to suspend disbelief about. How long it took to find the missing brother- it certainly gave the couple time to connect, but seemed hard to believe he was so well hidden with so many looking for him. It was also hard to connect with Ally's reason for her continued support of her cousin. Because he never shows one shred of evidence that side of him exists now, it is hard to connect with.

It was okay. I think I had a bit of higher expectations but it didn't disappoint me either. I liked Trey and what he was all about. I loved his sense of purpose and loyalty. Ally was loyal too but in an abusive relationship type way. Her family is filled with douches and I don't know why Ally and Edgar would think that Vincent would grow up.

This is a pretty good series to get into if you like them like these. Read the first one but missed the second one so into this I went. When there are cases and mysteries I am on it like yesterday. This one centers around Trey and Ally. Secrets and mysteries galore in this one with one by one coming to light. Those with the skills are the ones you need to watch lol. He goes to help her and the chemistry will begin to boil. What they got to do keeps you plastered to the story having to have the answers to the questions that have been raised. The flow is such that you enjoy the interaction from the others too that it is a solid read.

Ally Sheldon's parents were killed in a car crash when she was very young. Her aunt and uncle took her in and raised her as their own along with their son. Vincent and Ally now run the construction company started by her father and uncle. Vincent is the face of the company and Ally runs everything behind the scenes. She has spent way too many years, and too much time, energy and money, covering for him, always making excuses for him because he was there for her when her parents passed and she feels obligated to him. His parents have always covered for him and made excuses for him his entire life. All three have been enablers.

Trey Pierce is ex-Delta Special Forces. He works as the computer hacker extraordinaire, mostly behind the scenes, for the Brotherhood (a secret group of ex-Delta Force who help people with nowhere and no one else to turn to). He and his best friend were run over in the street in NY five years ago and the perpetrator fled the scene. His friend died because he pushed Trey out of the way and Trey suffered injuries requiring months of recovery. The only thing Trey remembers is an identifying mark on the driver’s left forearm as he sped away. He has spent the last 5 years relentlessly and obsessively searching for the person with this mark so he can be held accountable for his actions.

Ally seeks Jessie’s PI firm out to help her discreetly locate her brother who has gone on a bender and has been missing for days. Jessie asks her to meet her at the Devil’s Playground nightclub after seeing the picture Ally emailed her of Vincent. Jessie recognizes the mark on Vincent's arm, so she draws Trey and Dylan into helping locate him.

Immediate attraction flairs between Ally and Trey. However, when Trey realizes Ally’s brother could possibly be the man he’s spent the last 5 years chasing, he keeps her at arm’s length. He works alongside her in her business, helping her to cover for Vincent's absence. The more time they spend together, the more Trey realizes that not only is she beautiful, she's smart, driven, interesting, independent, capable, and fun to be around. Alley sees past his tough loner exterior to the soft hearted, kind, extremely bright, family/friend loving, protective man he is.

I gotta say, I wasn't a big fan of Ally's for most of the book. She was adamant about protecting the company and Vincent and keeping their secrets, past the point of logical reasoning and threatening the people trying to help her. It took way too long for her to open her eyes and accept reality. I get she felt indebted to her family, but it was a bit much for me. I did like how Trey didn't try to take over for Ally but gave her the support and encouragement that her family never did.

Vincent is an incredibly narcissistic, petulant, self-absorbed, I'm the only one who matters, donkey's butt. His character is even more repulsive after he is found and brought home. However, what goes around comes around eventually, thankfully.

I loved Edgar, Vincent's handler. He put up with way to much crap from Vincent. I’d really like to see him get his own story.

Even though this book isn't as action packed as book two, I liked it better. I look forward to the next book in the series.

This is the first book that I have read in the Delta Force Brotherhood series so let first let me tell you that it can be read as a standalone and the author does a great job of arousing reader’s curiosity about all the characters in the Brotherhood and the previous books, so be prepared to want to read them all. The plot is set at a steady pace with lots of suspenseful events that keep readers glued to the pages and caught up in the events as there are a few twists and turns and Trey’s mission to deliver justice complicates things which adds suspense and emotional drama to the story.

The characters are strong and compelling easily drawing readers in and refusing to let go. The attraction between Trey and Ally sizzles with heat and passion but their romance is an emotionally turbulent one as both characters’ lives are complicated and pull them in different directions and there are quite a few emotional and sensitive choices that add to the suspense of whether this couple will have a happily ever after or not.

I have read other books by Sheryl Nantus but they were of the paranormal variety, so when I saw this one I decided to give it a shot and I was not disappointed. The author brings her world to life with well written words that paints vivid images of her world and characters which it makes it easy for the reader to become caught up in their lives and the plot. I have added the first two books in the series to my TBR and I am looking forward to reading more in this series.

Hard Pursuit by Sheryl Nantus is the third book in the series of the Delta Force Brotherhood. Like the first two in the series, it is a suspenseful, romantic, attention keeping read. Not quite as much of an action-packed story as the other two. I was not a bit surprised by the action since Trey is mainly the computer guy for the group.

The two lead characters are good together but there are secrets that work their way between them. Still the suspense, secrets and cover-up really worked in this story. Trey is paired up with Ally who needs help with her company. I liked Ally but thought it was way pass time for her to show tough love to her brother. Ally also seems to be blind to the fact of her own safety sometimes too. Needless to say Trey was my favorite in the book.

This is a series that has interesting character development in a flowing story that never lags. Hard Pursuit is just one more wonderful addition to it, showing how attractive a computer guy can be. Fan of Katie Reus, Lindsay Cross and Kaylea Cross will want to check out this author’s books.

This s a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

While I have not read the previous books in the series, it is not necessary to understand the plot or characters. This book can be read as a stand alone but I know from previous experience, it is fun to read about previous characters.

Trey had searched for about five years for the drunk driver that killed his friend, and injured him. Fate really handed him a present when Ally came to the Devil's Playground looking for Jessie to help her find her missing brother (who really is her cousin).

When Trey keeps it a secret that the picture of Ally's brother fits his memory of the drunk driver, you know that is going to cause problems later on.

It was hard to see Ally defend Vincent and really enable him in his drinking and gambling addictions so finally at the end, she broke free!! And, that Edgar finally quit.

I loved that Nick's parents were able to forgive their son's killer and realize that it was more damaging to them to hold on to anger and resentment - good life lesson.

Lots of drama in their long road to a HEA, but it is worth it! Now, I will have to look up the first two books and read them.

Hard Pursuit is the third book in Sheryl Nautus’ Delta Force Brotherhood Series. Trey Pierce works at the Devil’s Playground as a security system expert and uses his computer skills to help the Brotherhood any way he can. He has one important mission: to find out who killed his best friend. When Ally Sheldon comes to the Brotherhood for help to find her troublesome cousin and business partner, Trey steps forward to help and discovers a link to solving his case.

The attraction between Trey and Ally is instant and explosive. They are drawn to each other and struggle to main focused on the task at hand. For Ally, finding her cousin. For Trey, helping Ally, keeping her safe and discovering his best friend’s killer. But secrets on both sides are all around them. Will the secrets tear Trey and Ally apart? Will they be able to survive them when they come out? Read it to find out!

I discovered Sheryl Nautus and this series while searching netgallery. The cover drew my attention and once I read the synopsis I was hooked. I love alpha miltiary romances, with lots of non-stop action. I hate starting a series at the end, so prior to reading Hard Pursuit I read the first two books in her Delta Force Brotherhood Series. I enjoyed them all and I thought that Hard Pursuit was a great third book for the series.

I love the premise of the Brotherhood and what it stands for. Both the heroes and heroines in Nautus’ books are good, strong characters with strong morals and personalities. I loved the details given to their backgrounds and storylines. My only complaint is that the end to all three book were very similar. I won’t go into detail because I don’t want to give any spoilers.

All the books in Sheryl Nautus’ Delta Force Brotherhood series contain a happily ever after and can be read as a standalone, however, reading it in order will give you a better appreciation for the characters and the series itself.

Content warning: fatal drunk driving accident (retold in detail), alcoholism

While this is the third in the Delta Force Brotherhood series, each book is a stand-alone, and I had no problems jumping in. The Brotherhood is an organization of ex-military vets who help those who can’t find help anywhere else. Ally gets involved with them when Jessie, the girlfriend of the head of the Brotherhood, agrees to investigate the disappearance of Ally’s adopted brother, Vincent, shortly before a big planned meeting in Las Vegas. While they don’t believe it’s likely he’s been kidnapped, as he has a habit of losing his bodyguard Edgar and getting drunk, he’s been gone for much longer than usual and the upcoming presentation is crucial to the future of the family company.

“Mentally he listed the reasons why he was not, repeat, not going to consider getting involved with Ally Sheldon.
First, she was a client. Maybe not officially a Brotherhood client, but definitely Jessie’s, and he didn’t want to incur her wrath.
Second, and most importantly, she was quite possibly related to a killer. Not the best of circumstances for romance.”

At first Trey, the Brotherhood’s computer genius, can’t figure out why Jessie wants to involve him in the case – until he sees a picture of Vincent. Five years ago, Trey was injured and his best friend killed in a hit-and-run in New York. The case went cold, and the only clue Trey has is that the driver had a red diamond-shaped tattoo on his arm – exactly like Vincent has on his arm. Trey’s need for vengeance for his friend’s death has consumed him, and he needs to know if Vincent was the man responsible. Only problem is, he has to find him first… and deal with his inconvenient attraction to Ally.

“‘But when I showed up on his doorstep, he took me in. Gave me his playroom, the one next to his. And when I woke up at night crying and scared, he would come in and take me down to the living room where we’d sit and watch cartoons all night.’ She looked at Trey. ‘I remember that when he gets out of hand—the little boy helping me cope.’”

Ally is smart, driven, and the brains behind the family company. She’s been content – until now – to run the company behind the scenes while Vincent is the figurehead, taking most of the credit, partly because the construction industry is such a men’s club. Despite having been involved with the company for basically all her life, she’s still subject to snide comments and paternal dismissals because she’s a woman. So, despite the fact that Vincent is a complete jackass, Ally remains loyal to him because he’s family, and because of how he worked to make her feel at home when her aunt and uncle took her in after her parents’ death. Ally is not exactly squeaky clean – she’s almost as much an enabler as his parents, having cleaned up Vincent’s messes several times before – but given the heavy emphasis on family loyalty and the feeling that she “owes” them for taking her in, she came off as a sympathetic character, despite the cover-ups. Like boiling a frog, she’s been trapped in the dysfunctional family bubble for so long that she handles each of Vincent’s incremental transgressions without much grumbling, and it isn’t until his complete disappearance (and the realization of how freeing it is to run the company without Vincent’s meddling) and Trey’s support that his behavior finally tips the scale. And to her credit, when the rubber hits the road, she does the right thing.

“She looked at him. ‘I need you to promise this will stay secret.’
He dragged his finger across his heart, reveling in her answering smile. ‘Scout’s honor.’
‘I somehow doubt you were ever a Boy Scout.’
‘I’m hurt.’ He slid his lower lip out in a childish pout, drawing a wider smile from her. ‘Want to see me tie a knot?’
It came out sexier than he intended.
She looked at him, lips curling upward and stealing the air from his lungs as his libido reacted to that smoking hot silent response[…]
At the door, she paused before looking back. ‘The knot thing. I’ll keep it in mind.’”

I went in to this book expecting more action, as this is romantic suspense, but, in the end, I wasn’t particularly disappointed by the lack of it. Most of the actually work tracking down Vincent is handled off-page, while Trey, Ally, and Edgar keep up the illusion of everything being business as usual. However, the sexual tension more than made up for it. Trey, being honorable to almost a fault – while the Brotherhood may skirt the law, they don’t break it – is reluctant to get involved with Ally while he suspects Vincent is a murderer, and doesn’t want to tell her about it until he’s sure Vincent’s the man responsible. Even so, he’s hard pressed to admit what, exactly, kind of closure he expects if he’s finally found his man. Ally, for her part, almost immediately realizes that something’s off with Trey, and while she figures it has something to do with Vincent, she never suspects the truth.

“’Nice try, but I’m not buying it.’ She shook her head slowly. ‘I’ve learned over the years to know when people tell me half-truths. I’ve also learned sometimes it’s for a valid reason.’ Her smile disarmed him. “You’ll tell me the rest when you’re ready.’”

Despite Ally’s defense of him, it was obvious from the beginning that Vincent was no peach, but it was hard to believe how much more I disliked him once he appeared on the page in person. The characterization – of the bad guys and good guys – is absolutely amazing, and while I didn’t agree with the characters actions, I felt they were consistent with their characters and backstories. What I really loved about this book, however, was Trey’s gradual coming to terms with the results of his hunt for revenge. There’s a particular conversation I loved and wanted to share, but it’s bit a spoilery, so I’ll hide it behind a tag.

“’We appreciate your hunting for this man, appreciate your devotion to justice. But tell us, what have you been doing with your life aside from this?’ David asked. ‘What have you done to move forward?’
‘I work with my friends. I… I’ve been busy. We help those who need it.’ He found his voice. ‘I took what Nick gave me and paid it forward. I’ve done what I can for those who have no voice, who need solutions no one else can give them.'”

Overall, this was a delightfully fun, drama-filled read. I will definitely be looking up the previous two books in the series. I’m hoping there will be more – I’m especially interested in Edgar, the ex-British Marine bodyguard.

I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I really liked this! The writing had the feel of the Black Dagger Brootherhood series but without the paranormal. Great character development, and while it was rather obvious how the book was going to end it didn't stop me wanting to read it. Well written, exciting, and a good addition to the series.
