Perfect read. Well written with the perfect amount of character development.

Great fun story as always, witty dialogue, good romance. Fun and lighthearted with a fast pace! Loved the dialogue between the characters
I am so behind in my book reviews, it's not even funny. I think my notifications went to spam. Anyhoo, if the question is should you read a Tawna Fenske book, the answer is always a resounding YES! The Test is quirky, sexy, and fun! I always turn to Tawna's books when I need a pick me up, and she always delivers.
The Test is the best book by Tawna Fenske and my new favorite book overall. It’s funny, sassy, and sexy!
Although it’s the second in the series, it stands alone just fine.
The character development is amazing! I love how the story jumps right in. There are so many laugh out loud and awkward snickering moments (that apparently make people around you uncomfortable). This is a read for sunny days, cold nights, and vacations. I cannot wait for more!
Good book that a quick read. Big fan of Tawna Fenske writing and have been for years. If you like humor with romance this is a book you read.
I really enjoyed this book and this entire series. This one was my favorite. It was funny and yet still had with relatable characters. The sex was hot too!
Talk about an opposites attract story, The Test by Tawna Fenske pairs an interior decorator who feels she must always maintain an upper crust, polished personality with a self made entrepreneur who doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty and whose family is as far from blue blooded as you could expect. However, these two worked and they worked very well together in so many ways despite their differences. The Test was a blend of smoldering sexuality, learning to look beyond first impressions, and exploring boundaries. I loved every minute of this book.
Lisa Michaels knows what she likes and she is particular about every little thing in her life; some might call her a control freak, some a planner, and some an uptight bitch. In reality, Lisa maintains this outer persona because her career demands it and once she gets a taste of the simpler, wilder side of life, I think we begin to see the real Lisa.
I don’t know where to begin with Dax Kensington, but damn the pictures I have in my head about this man (and off the record while the cover of this book is fine, the guy on the cover is not rough enough looking for Dax IMHO). While there is no doubt Dax is incredibly sexy and knows how to treat a woman in bed; he is also a very humble and caring man.
Despite is humble beginning, the fact he grew up in less than ideal circumstances, and he worked hard to stay on the right side of the law, Dax is honest, hard working, and dedicated to helping others. Honestly, I loved this character.
With Lisa getting over a relationship gone badly, she decides she wants to do the opposite of her normal life and Dax agrees to help her test out that theory starting with no strings sex. I enjoyed watching them become more entwined with each other’s lives all while still insisting they were only together for a month until Lisa had tested her theory that she could shake things up in her life. I was surprised by how easily Dax opened up to Lisa about his life and how easily she accepted all sides of him. I thought Lisa showed tremendous growth during this book considering she was a bit judgmental about Dax at the start and while I did love Dax he wasn’t without his own hang ups about “society type” people like Lisa. The fact the both fell for one another despite their prejudices against each other was a testament to how deep their feelings ran.
From the crisp dialog, the sexy times (hello, alley sex), the easy to like characters; The Test was a perfect romance.
Absolutely loved Dax & Lisa. Their cute experiment turned into real love in spite of their different lifestyles. Love her interaction with her sisters and mostly sweet Junie. Another hit. Keep them coming. I received ARC for my review.
I wanted to like this book, I just couldn’t. It started out well and just fell flat. Was a very generic storyline. The characters just couldn’t be connected with.
This book was AMAZING!! There are so many things I liked about it.
First there was Lisa. This is a woman who has always done what was expected of her. She wore the right clothes, has the right job, right car, right friends, right fiancé with a wedding right around the corner. Then the unexpected happens and she is left wondering if maybe she should do the complete opposite of what was expected. This is where the fun really starts when across the bar she spot Dax.
I loved Dax from the get go. He is a hardworking, honest man who knows the importance of staying on the straight and narrow, working your way up and loyalty. He is portrayed as being a man from the wrong side of the tracks but he is fighting his way out of there. He does have some insecurities but I think we all do and his made me like him even more.
I love that Dax wants to push Lisa boundaries without crossing them and I like that Lisa is willing to take a chance. Watching these two who seem to be completely wrong for each other fall was a beautiful thing. I am very glad I read this book!
The Test was a light read for me. I was disappointed in the lack of depth in the characters. I wish they had been more layered and complex. The focus in The Test was more on the sexual encounter scenes than on the story and I felt it was out of balance. I choose Tawna Fenske mostly for her snappy dialogue and the fun with which she infuses her stories. The Test did not disappoint in dialogue, and there certainly was some fun, like I said, it was light and entertaining, just not my favorite. Worth the read and looking forward to the next book.
Do you really know yourself? Or does it take someone else to help you TRULY know who you are?
Lisa is all prim and proper. She's fancy brunches and designers duds. You know: Sugar and spice and everything nice. Lisa is used to doing things the same way she's always done them. She's used to the nicer things in life and never thought twice about it. Then her fiance' leaves her at the alter and she's stumped as to what to do next.
Dax is danger and tattoos and all things bad boy. They meet at a bar where Lisa propositions Dax for a one night stand. Dax, having gone over to her table just to show up his "ex" who happened to look vaguely similar to Lisa, decides "Why not." When Lisa gives him another proposition: Help me do everything different than I have ever done before, Dax is game. But what happens when the game is over? And can they play by the rules? Or are some rules meant to be broken?
There are so many times when we find ourselves doing something the same way every time. Because that's "just how it's done." But when we challenge ourselves, we find out so much more than we ever expected.
Y'all I freaking LOVED this book!! I read The List by Tawna Fenske and it was witty and sexy and funny and real. When I heard she was doing a second book in the series, I truly didn't know who she could do a story on. Then I heard it was Lisa (sister to the heroine in The List) and I got really excited. There's the typical Tawna wit and sexiness, but there's nothing "typical" about the story.
I'll say my favorite scene actually comes about in the beginning, when Dax sits and Lisa's table and Lisa tries to pick him up. The banter is genuine. The characters are realistic and funny. And the tone is sexy, setting up the whole book for a fun ride.
If you are a die-hard Tawna Fenske fan, you will THOROUGHLY enjoy this book. And if you've never read Tawna, this is a great stand-alone/part-of-a-series book to start with. You don't have to have read The List to understand or enjoy this book.
How did Lisa Michaels move forward in her life after being left at the altar by her fiancé? She embarked on a mission she would have never completed before. Seeing her life in a different perspective she made a change and it was a test to see if Dax would measure up. Never judge a book by its cover since it allows you to make misconceptions but finding how how wrong you were definitely puts life in perspective. Dax would become everything she didn’t know she was missing from her life.
I am in love with this series. It is such a perfect combination of wit and heart. I loved that this book made me laugh out loud but also go "Awww". Both main characters were so funny but I loved how vulnerable they were as well. Their relationship developed so beautifully. I can't wait for this series to continue, the author is on a roll.
Lisa has lived her life thinking that things must be a certain way until in walks Dax...
Dax is used to be people meeting him and assuming he is just a thug....but hey who better to show Lisa to not judge a book by its cover
I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book
This book was really good. I laughed and cried and of course fanned myself at all the perfect moments. For me in this book Dax had my heart he was more than anyone could have imagined and had no problem showing Lisa that maybe your best laid plans are anything but what you actually need.
The Test by Tawna Fenske was a great read. Lisa thought that her life has gone exactly the way it was supposed to. Until her fiancé leaves her at the altar. Lisa is now questioning all of the decisions she has ever made. I loved reading this book and can’t wait to read more by Tawna Fenske.

At the end of The List, book 1 in the series, Lisa, one of Cassie's older sisters, was left at the alter by her fiancé.
It's been several months and while out with her sister, Lisa decides to go against her normal instincts and picks up a tattooed, muscle bound guy she meets in a bar. She decides it's time to have a one night stand with a stranger.
Dax, saw Lisa from across the bar and thought she was his snobby ex. But when he got closer, he realized his error. So when the hot blonde propositions him, he's not willing to walk away.
After a night of hot sex, Lisa proposes a month long test for herself and asks Dax if he would be willing to help her out. She wants to go against her habits of doing the things she should do, and instead take risks and do things differently. He agrees to her terms of no-strings sex in exchange for his help.
But these two people, who both looked at each other with preconceived notions, realize that the other is more than meets the eye. And what they see, they both like.
I thought this was really cute. Second book by Tawna Fenske that I've read and really enjoyed. Cute and fun. Will definitely read more by this author.
*Raises reading device to Tawna Fenske*
The Test is April 25th of books, perfectly funny, sexy (WHOA), clever and Romantic. Oh and did I mention the sexy?
This book is easily devoured in a sitting and you will fall flat out in love with Lisa and Dax, who on the surface are polar opposites in every single way. But here’s the thing about those kind of judgements, they can keep you from experiences that might just be life-changing or affirming. In the case of these two, lots of hot life-affirming sex.
But different as these two were, Tawna Fenske did a wonderful job of drawing them together and lets us see not only the pure joy in the newness of each experience, but how it adjusted their world view.
It’s such a fantastic book.
A good story by Ms. Fenske. Interesting and unique plotline. it was full of heat, humor and lots of innuendos. overall I liked the story.
