Thank you John Hunt Publishing and Netgalley for an ARC of this book.
I read this book quite a few months ago yet it has stayed with me since. I enjoyed meandering through the content and reflecting on my life along the way. A highly recommended book.
This is a beautiful book which can really help people. It as a wealth of interesting connections about the mind, body soul and makes fascinating links with music and myth, interwoven with the author's personal reflection. The good provides practical steps and visualisations to engage the reader in doing the work, moving them forward to having more agency in their life experience.
The author, Jane Bain, does an excellent job of presenting her findings in a way that is easy to read and interesting. Many of the points she makes are backed up by science and I found the addition of quotes from well-known people to be a very nice added touch. Since she has a degree in psychology it’s obvious that she definitely has a background conducive to sharing much of the information she provides.
The facts from the beginning are used as a jumping off point to move on and apply what you have learned in a way that will make your life better. I like that she enlarges on facts and turns them into action.
The book isn’t very long; in my opinion that is often a good thing because it doesn’t contain scads of duplicated material, and it is worth the time invested in reading it.
A pleasant spiritual read which is easy to follow. A self development book that really gets you thinking about life, your meaning and your spiritual journey. This is the first book by this author fhat i have read and i enjoyed her writibg style. Definatey gave me something to think about. Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for allowing me to read.
An interesting book which explains and expands on how to discover who you really are by listening to your soul. Anyone who is interested in a spiritual way of life will resonate with the lessons in this book.
This book covers a lot of areas and tries to include a lot of material and advice. I think it is written in a nice style and is easy to understand but did find it to meander all other the place. None of the material is new and I have seen all the exercises before in one guise or another, but the way it is presented may be exactly what some readers are looking for. For readers new to this area it is a great start because it presents lots of different resources and ideas. The problem for me was that I didn't really get the message of what the book was trying to achieve, and felt as if it was a little bit of a conversational brain dump. I have read lots of books in this genre over the years so it may well be just my perspective. I think it may be the perfect book for many people out there and may be just the doorway they need into a deeper more meaningful life. Good luck with it and thank you.
