I went into this book blind. I knew that it was paranormal with vampires but that was it. And let me tell you, I am so glad that I did! Not knowing what to except made this book so much more fun! I don’t often read paranormal books so this was a step out of my comfort zone. But what I did know was that I love Linde’s writing style and the way she can just tell a story and keep you hooked!
I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this book! From the moment I read about Beckham, he had me hooked! He is so sexy and mysterious! I kept turning the page trying to figure just a little bit more about him! I don’t know how I’m going to handle the wait until the next book!

You know that feeling when you are pulled into a book. That feeling you get when you read the blurb and you would do anything just to read the book. You can't explain the feeling but you just know in your gut it is an amazing feeling. Well, I felt it in Blood Type. A paranormal romance that freaking gripped me. A paranormal romance that captivated me from the first page to the last. I love paranormal romances. Blame it on Twilight, Vampire Diaries and The Originals that curbed my fascination over paranormal and all things supernatural. If it wasn't for those series, I wouldn't be reading books like Blood Type. Blood Type made my heart pump. Filled with some pulsing suspense and red hot passion, Blood Type, written by K.A. Linde, is a perfect concoction that you want to take a drink of.
K. A Linde is one of my favourite authors. The Wright Brother is one of my favourite books from her. I have read her contemporary romances and they are fabulous. But I did not know that she can write paranormal romances. I was completely sold with Blood Type. Hooked, lined and sinker. I went down in the deep end with Blood Type. Mesmerizing. Striking. Fantastic. Blood Type wrenched my soul to fiery pages with a cinching and explosive plot. The dynamic and mind bending characters. The rich undertones of the plot. Blood Type truly swept me away into a brilliant yet different world of vampires. K.A. Linde just exposed me to her world of monsters and I was severely addicted. Entrancing. Powerful. Blood Type was a riveting paranormal romance with a nail biting and spellbinding story that had me begging me for more. K. A. Linde is so creative and such a talented writer. She invoked lots of action and drama that's absolutely thrilling. K.A. Linde effortlessly wrote a paranormal romance with a palpitating vision into a new and dangerous alternate world of vampires mixed with blood and action to enthrall you. I loved every moment of it.
In Blood Type, you will meet our main characters, Reyna, a poor human who becomes a blood donor for a vampire and Beckham, a wealthy businessman matched with Reyna and you are going to love them together. Heck, I adored them. The sexual tension, you could cut it with a knife, It dripped. It swerved. It echoed. The push and pull so freaking sexy that it gave me goosebumps. Truly delectable. Reyna grew up poor and a survivor. Loyal and capable of protecting and providing for her family. She is tenacious and strong . She cared for her family and the ones close to her. A little impulsive sometimes but I admired her fire and heart. Beckham is at first an asshole. You will hate him at first. He is wealthy, a vampire and a bit scary sometimes. But her fiercely protects and has a heart that will warm you up and make you swoon.
It took a long time to write this review because the ending destroyed me. I still have not gotten over it and I am seriously need Book 2 asap. Blood Type is an amazing read. If you looking for a different vampire romance, then you need to check Blood Type.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book by KA Linde. I have read others by her and it had been awhile since I read a "vampire" story that was different but I truly enjoyed this story line and look forward to the rest of the series. The story takes place in a world where vampires are no longer unknown but where some human factions are trying to make things better for both humans who are suffering from horrible economic problems and vampires who don't wish to be killers. Reyna does what she has to do in order to help her brothers so they don't have to spend the rest of their lives in abject poverty or taking care of her. Despite this job being the last thing she wants to do, without an education, there is not much else she can do to help herself and her family. Beckham seems to want nothing to do with her including allowing her to do the job she was hired for. But there is something amiss in this world and Reyna will soon find herself in the midst of drama, tragedy and world changing situations. There is plenty of steam to go around as well as some mystery and a beautifully described world. Bring on Blood Match! ARC provided by NetGalley for honest opinion!

BLOOD TYPE takes place in a dystopian world of stark class divisions, where rich vampires exist at the top of society and poor people waste their lives in backbreaking jobs. Vampires used to run wild in murderous rampages, but that was before people discovered that if a vampire drinks from someone whose blood type matches theirs, they become more or less civilized. A company called Visage basically controls everything, employing these vampires somehow, and also providing the best option for employment for desperate people by paying them to pair with a vampire blood type match.
Reyna is desperate to make a better life for herself and her brothers, so she goes to Visage to donate her blood for a vampire. While there, they inform her of this new program that would permanently place her in the home of a vampire. It pays well, so she eventually agrees to the position, and a vampire named Beckham sweeps her away to his penthouse in the city. He provides her with expensive clothes she hates and a card with unlimited funds. She can also have his driver take her anywhere, and a bodyguard if necessary. And guess what? Beckham doesn't even drink from her! In fact, he barely looks at her. Which is a sweet set-up for Reyna since she was so concerned about being a whore, because in her mind whoredom is basically the worst thing in the world.
Reyna rails against it all right from the start. Oh, you have a driver? No thanks, I'll call a random cab instead. Bodyguard? NO THANK YOU. You don't want to drink my blood? Let me yank my shirt down and present my neck in anger on like, day 2 of this arrangement, then get upset when you reject me.
In other words, she is needlessly defiant and TSTL.
Beckham is rather controlling, but of course, he explains nothing to Reyna. And she, being TSTL, loves doing exactly the opposite of what he tells her to do. Of course, EVERY SINGLE TIME she does this, she runs right into danger and has to be rescued. Reyna is so pigheaded that she has no common sense. She questions Beckham endlessly, which is actually understandable, but he never gives a satisfying response, and so she can constantly jump to conclusions. She talks back to him and defies him at every given opportunity, even though she's supposed to be in his employ. Honestly, it's so tiresome.
There's also some drama with another woman, Penny, who is supposedly Beckham's girlfriend. Good news, now Reyna can be jealous. Even though she and "Becks" hardly ever speak. Even though she's his employee, not his girlfriend. He may check her out in her fancy clothes, and she may lust after him, but her jealousy is so over-the-top and annoying. These two barely know each other.
But when Reyna and Becks do get romantic, he totally leads her on. They kiss, he pulls away and says it shouldn't have happened. He gives her an orgasm, he pulls away again. He acts like something more might happen, but chooses to drink Penny's blood instead. To Reyna's credit, she tries really hard not to put up with his shit and calls him out all the time. Spoiler alert: HE NEVER LETS HER GO. *cue ominous music*
To top it all off, this book really lacked the edginess necessary for a good, dark vampire story, which I think it was trying to be. Oh, Becks hints at his dark past of killing people, but dude... you're a vampire. Duh. Others hint that he's a maniac, but WHERE IS THE PROOF??? Becks also has a vampire adversary of sorts whose greatest hobby seems to be making Reyna uncomfortable with leering stares and innuendoes, but he's such a caricature. The edgiest thing that happens is all the vamps and their humans go to a *GASP* sex club and watch some vampires have group sex with a human while Becks fingers Reyna under the table.
I really wanted to DNF this. I'm so over a billionaire love interest, and naive and innocent heroine who grew up on the streets but somehow never suffered except for being poor. I hate when love interests (and authors) cosset the "good" characters, and this book is no exception: Reyna is always getting into trouble thanks to her over-the-top willfulness, yet she's always rescued before anything bad happens. The cliffhanger ending of this book is probably no exception.

It’s been ages since I’ve read a true paranormal novel. I’ve been in a bit of a reading rut, so it was the perfect time to shake things up a bit. When I read the synopsis for Blood Type I knew I couldn’t pass it up. It’s a paranormal romantic suspense, and while vampire stories are nothing new, the premise behind vampires and humans co-existing is really creative.
The story is enthralling and I never stopping being intrigued by the intimidating, enigmatic, and powerful vampire, Beckham. I respected Reyna for battling her fears to do everything in her power to ensure that she and her brothers could rise from their desperate, impoverished circumstances. However, Reyna constantly frustrated me. If Beckham tells her it’s vital to obey certain orders, she agrees and then promptly disregards him. She can’t keep her mouth shut to save her life, and she seems to have little regard for her safety.
Despite the impression the cover may give, this book is scarce on the sexy times. Instead, the main focus is on character development and Reyna’s growing affection for Beckham. Since this is the first book in a trilogy, I think it’s a wise move on the author’s part. You don’t want to give away too much too soon. There’s plenty of time for intimacy.
I do have some concerns. I finished the book still not being 100% clear on why Beckham refuses to feed off Reyna. I think I must be missing something. The writing style didn’t always work for me. I found some of the dialog to be stilted and forced, and certain plot developments seem rather abrupt so they don’t always ring true. Nonetheless, the story captured my attention and sparked my imagination so I count it as a win.
Blood Type ends on a cliffhanger. I only wish I could immediately dive into the next book but, alas, I’ll be forced to wait.

Blood Type is the first novel in the Blood Type Series by K.A. Linde....Warning, This novel ends with a huge cliffy!
I have been on a serious paranormal kick this month. I don't know why, it just all of a sudden came over me. After reading the synopsis for Blood type and seeing this cover, how could I not request a copy!
This novel took me on a journey that is so unlike what I imagined. Reyna is at her wit's end. She can't get a job, and she's sick of seeing her brothers go to work and bust their asses with the results showing nothing. So she does what any desperate person would do, she gets in touch with Visage. Visage is a corporation that specializes in 'body employment' services. in short-term, Vampires employ humans as blood donors.
Beckham Anderson is a vampire who carries his secrets close to him, he's also a beast and one who is most feared. When Reyna is matched to be Beckham's blood employee, she thinks it'll be a walk in the park....until feelings get involved and wires get crossed.
I've read stacks upon stacks of paranormal novels in my lifetime but I don't remember ever reading a novel with this type of content. I was intrigued by Reyna and her poverty driven lifestyle. Then after joining Visage, she's given the fairytale of lavish gowns and riches only she could imagine in her dreams, but that doesn't make her happy. She wants friendship and the feeling of being wanted. She's definitely a woman who cannot be bought.
Then we have Beckham Anderson. Throughout this novel Beckham is listed to be a lethal vampire who can turn in a seconds time. I didn't feel that vibe from him. In fact for a Vampire he kind of bored me in the beginning. It's during the halfway point where I finally got a glimpse of the vampire everyone says is to be feared. One thing that redeemed his character, in my eyes, is the mysterious vibe that came from him. This Vampire has his secrets and he keeps them close.
Throughout this novel, I had a love/hate relationship with Reyna and Beckham. Usually I dont' mind a back and forth relationship, but this situation was a tad bit aggravating, I now understand the reasoning behind why the back and forth was drawn out though.
As for the ending, if you all don't like cliffy's I highly suggest you wait until the second book comes out. This ends with a huge cliffhanger that has me wanting and needing answers...Immediately!
Overall, this was a great read with original ideas and genius situations. I just wish the back and forth between the main characters wasn't drawn out so much.

It has been a while since I read a paranormal romance and I couldn’t put it down. K. A. Linde has a way of keeping me on the edge my seat. She is the queen of angst and I loved every minute of it. I need the next book asap!
I haven’t read a vampire book in so long and this book was the perfect start to a new series. Reyna is going to do something she never thought she would do to help her family. She lives in a world with vampires and is getting into more than she bargained for.
Wait until you meet Beckham! I love him! You will fall in love with him and Reyna’s story and be ready for more the minute you finish. I highly recommend this book.

It was a long time since I read a book with vampires and I loved Blood Type so much! The story was refreshing, the plot brilliant and the romance addictive!I enjoyed every minute of it and I need more!!
I was intrigued with the world K.A. Linde create! This is a world where vampires rule and they are rich and people live with poverty! They need the vampires because they provide them jobs!Reyna doesn’t wish to be a burden on her brothers anymore, with no money she needs a job!Reyna applies to become the blood host to a prominent vampire and gets more than she bargained for.Beckham, one of the wealthiest vampires!Beckham is mysterious, dark and sexy!
If you are looking for a refreshing story with a sexy vampire and a story that will captivate you from the first pages this is perfect for you!!

I had never read a story written by this author before and when I saw it on Netgalley, I figured there’s my chance. 2 things happened after I got approved. I realized that this was a paranormal that ended with a cliffhanger. I don’t read too many paranormals anymore and I don’t like cliffhangers. So I almost didn’t read it. Well I’m glad I did because this 5 star story had me hooked from the very beginning to the end.
Reyna is a very poor girl who’s trying to not starve. She wants to help her brothers in order to survive. She goes to Visage, where they employe humans to feed the vampire. She’s in a new project who will be matched with Beckham, a senior at Visage. What she didn’t expect is to fall in love with the silent, broody and cold man.
This was one amazing story and one that got me hooked from the very page read to the very last one. It was so addicting that I basically read it in a few hours. It was intriguing because there was always some surprises at every turns. A great plot that just got thicker and thicker. I can’t wait to read the book, Blood Match. I strongly recommend this story.

I love my vampires from Angel, Salvatore brothers, to Edward freaking Cullen but I think I've found my new bloody good time Vampire, Beckham. I have for one not read vampire books since twilight and now that I've I want more...more Beck. From the moment I read the few pages I was drawed into this world of Blood escorts and vamps. Reyna is a girl just trying to survive and provide for her family jumping at the opportunity to do anything even be a Blood escorts for a vampire. Beck is mysterious, primal, and dark everything a human would fear. But through the pages we see the human side of him the protector and a man of want for Reyna. This hits you with heat, fear, anger, tears, and love with emotions with fear and hope of these two characters. All that tries to tear them apart or make them doubt what the feel. The secrets. The twist and turns..... OMG move over Edward Freaking Cullen there is a new Vampire for us to love and Beck is his name. I did not want this book to end and I'm dying/craving for a taste of the next book...... OMG K.A. Linde you've out did yourself.
*Thankfully to receive a Arc from Netgalley and the publishers.*

Reyna Carpenter lives in the Warehouse District. She and her two brothers are living in poverty and close to starvation. With this she makes a life-altering decision without consulting her brothers. She will work for Visage and become a blood escort for a vampire.
Beckham Anderson lives in the city. He is Senior Vice-President of Visage Inc and is rich. He is also a vampire and Reyna’s new Sponsor.
They could not be more different. Upon first meeting he is cool, calm and controlled. She is friendly, open and full of questions. Beckham is dressed impeccably in a tailored suit while she is dressed in ripped jeans, a dirty t-shift and hand-me-down Converse shoes.
What they do have in common is attraction and the fact that for better or worse they are together indefinitely or until one is no longer satisfied with the union.
With Reyna living under his roof and getting under his skin, he cannot keep up his façade of indifference for long and Reyna is just waiting to reel him in.
As the passion rises between them, there is danger lurking everywhere. From rogue vampires to Visage itself.
Will Reyna want to stay in this new world where every friend can also be her foe and where danger lurks around every corner?
Although this book started a little slow for me, it picked up quickly. It is entertaining, different and original. Once Reyna is placed with Beckham the pace picked up and from there I was intrigued in. The plot caught and held my attention.
It is the first book I read by this author and it will not be the last.
In the beginning, I disliked Beckham and found him to be an arrogant ass. It was heartbreaking to see him dismiss Reyna, without a care, over and over again.
The highlight for me, was Reyna. I loved her sass and her fight. She did not allow Beckham to belittle her. I also felt for Reyna, she was looking for a place to fit in but she couldn’t. Beckham was too aloof and ignored her most of the time while any human friends she made would judge her for working for Visage. Rock meet hard place.
In the second part of the book, the carnality notched up several degrees. So sexy. Beckham was reserved but Reyna brought out the passion and the animal in him quite literally.
The only thing that bothered me a little was Reyna’s response when she got what she was looking for. It left me with a WTH is going on feeling.
As for the ending, my god what a cliff-hanger! I soo need to read the next book! Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

DNF
I was excited to give this one a shot because vampires! But then I read it and I couldn't click with the main character's voice or the book as a whole. I also thought the arrangement was a bit toxic, so I doubt I would have been able to enjoy the rest of the story. Oh and I found out this was a trilogy too and this one ends on a cliffhanger. So maybe it was a good thing this ended up being a DNF for me!

Oh my...This is a MUST read! Even if you normally don’t read the genre, give this book a try! This book was the best of three different series mixed in one. Such a great story and Becks, oh my Becks, enough time said. I am excited to read the next two books in the series when they come out. It does end a cliffhanger BUT again you MUST read it!

This was not was what I was expecting. The first 1/2 was great, then the last 1/2 lost me. I prefer my paranormal reads to be engrossed in the story and this one I wasn't. I didn't have that urge of reading it all in one sitting. I was fighting with trying the finish the end since I knew it ended in a cliffhanger. I had high hopes. Reyna annoyed me big time. In the beginning she seems meek, and introvert. Then all of the sudden since she becomes employed with Visage and as a live-in to Beckham (which I don't like the nickname Becks) she starts throwing fits, doesn't follow directions and repeats it. Some of the things Reyna says sounds like it was just for sake of drama/argument in the story and not according to her character from the beginning of the book. I also wasn't feeling the relationship between the 2 main characters.

5 multiplied times infinity stars...
First. When Kyla and team chose to add me to the ARC Squad, I literally lost my mind. I mean winning the lottery, rubbing the lamp and finding a genie, & the hottest guy in the world paying off all my debts all rolled into one “you’ve been selected email”, I. LOST. MY. MIND. EXCITED.
I seriously love, devour, read, & re-read everything of her’s. Her books are PHENOMENAL and so well written. The character development so legit and real. I even message her about secondary characters. And she responds.
I. Love. Me. Some. KA Linde. Books.
But, please know that this review is on an early copy but if it was less than 5 stars I’d still be honest. Even though I flipping love her stuff.
Second. But more importantly. Blood Type. Just stop reading this and go start the book. Seriously. I won’t be offended. Staaahp, open, click, whatevs. Start. This. Book.
You’re still reading? Ok. Here goes. Some are probably thinking...
Don’t usually read paranormal? Welp. Me either.
Don’t usually care about vampires? Ditto
Kinda over the world is coming to an end by means of greed etc? Completely agree.
Rest assured I feel the same way and this book, this story, these characters... I can’t even come up with a word to describe how fan-f*cking-tastic Blood Type is!!! I wish I could go back to yesterday and call in sick so I could devote the entire day to uninterrupted gluttony, devouring this book.
Now, how to say enough to get you to read it with no spoilers. Hmmmmm. Tricky. Tricky.
That’s hard. Remember I mentioned I didn’t normally read paranormal (I love me some BDB, Mercy Thompson, Charlie Davidson, but other than those 3 series, I usually pass) so. While saying that, agreeing to be on the arc squad means I have to read every book she writes, right? Even ones I normally wouldn’t. I went into this book knowing the writing would be EXCELLENT, knowing I love her stuff, figuring I’d tough through so I’d meet my obligations on a para gig, paying forward waiting on Sav’s story to come out in May. I went into this book with very little plot or blurb knowledge. I hadn’t even read the general synopsis on the ‘back cover’. Well. Going in blind worked. This story has it all. Sucked me in.
Meet Reyna, beloved sister to two hardworking Brothers, in a society that deems her near useless.
Meet Visage, a company providing a life source to vampires. Think Match.com meets a fertility clinic. So. Basically. You can apply to be a donor and they (Visage) match up the human with a vampire of their blood type to feed. They pay better than any other job out there.
Meet Beckham. Vampire. Matches with Reyna.
Know a couple things going in.
You WILL fall in love with Beckham.
You WILL adore Reyna.
You will want the 2nd book immediately.
You will NOT regret reading this and if you haven’t already you will Buy all her other books*
*start with Brody or the Avoiding series, signed sincerely, a tip from a fan ;)
There’s steamy, hot parts and endearing sweet parts. And heartbreaking plot twists. Roll with it.
Please note this is book 1 in a trilogy. It will end in a cliffhanger. Book 2 is due around 6/26 and 3 around 8/21.
If you like legit heroes and chemistry. This is the book for you. There is so much more I want to say but don’t want to spoil it for anyone!!!

I'm going to be honest and tell you that I struggle when reading/reviewing books where I know the story isn't complete going in. That little nugget of information tends to linger while I am reading and flavors how I see things.
That said, I can also admit that having finished Blood Type I am now anxiously waiting for Blood Match so that we can see what happens to Reyna and Becks next.
Blood Type is a lot of different things rolled into one story. Yes, it's a paranormal story (vampires), but there are also strong elements of personal intrigue, political maneuvering, and the beginnings
of a romance.
Set in an alternate reality, we meet our heroine Reyna as she is setting out to try to make things better for her family. The path she follows leads her to living with a mysterious vampire, Beckham. I liked Reyna, but there were elements of her personality that I struggled with; a lot of that may have been her age (she's 21). It was harder to get a read on Beckham as we only see him from Reyna's perspective. I would have definitely appreciated seeing parts of the story from his Point of View.
I enjoyed Blood Type and really want to know where the story is headed!

Paranormal romance is not my thing. It just isn't. If it has a werewolf, or a shifter of any type, or a fairy, I am out, thanks for asking.
Vampires, however, are not paranormal, so we are all just fine here. (Can we please just all pretend that this is true, together, just for a bit? Thanks. Appreciate it.)
Anyway, like I was saying, it's ok if you don't like paranormal, as it's just vampires...and, well, the way Kyla Linde writes them, you just don't care that it is a paranormal romance, that it seems to be set in the future (although not enough that it is really noticeable) and that some major changes have happened to the world in which we live. In ways, the way it was written reminded me a little of the way the world in The Hunger Games was set out. It's not the same, but there are some parallels with the way society has fragmented.
Beckham and Reyna are not a match made in heaven, or love. In fact, as you find out quickly, he is rather indifferent to her...and he has his reasons. Lots of them in fact. Some of them are a surprise, others are obvious and the big one? Well, let's say that I did not see it coming, but possibly because I am not one to think on the book I am reading and try to guess where it is going. That said, after I finished the title, and got to the evil, mean, awful cliffhanger at the end of the book, I can't say the revelation and the events were a surprise.
What was a surprise is how thoroughly I enjoyed this title, as it is not a sub-genre I usually connect with. I was interested in the book because I enjoy this author. I loved the book because of the characters, the plot and the story.
I recommend this title.

Blood Type by K.A. Linde is book One in the Blood Type Series. This is the story of Reyna Carpenter and Beckham Anderson.
In this book the Vampires are the top of the people chain and humans are more of the poor side of town. Reyna is a human who wants to help her poor family and goes forward to become a paid blood escort. Beckham is the VP of Visage and his attraction to Reyna is quick but not all is easy with them.
This book does end with a cliffhanger to set up their story for the next installment in this series.

Desperate times calls for desperate measures is what drove Reyna, the heroine, to sign up to be at the beck and call of Beckham, the hero. He’s a tall, dark, handsome, top of the heap vampire executive who works for a company that matches vamps to highly compensated humans who are paid to be available anytime/anywhere their blood is desired.
Naturally, many humans view this with disgust and animosity as vampires seemed to have wormed their way into dominating over the human race, after the economy conveniently collapsed and most people are struggling to barely survive.
With a Tale of Two Cities type backdrop, Reyna starts to realize there’s a whole lot more going on than she ever imagined. Beckham himself becomes a mystery as he seems possessive but aloof with her all at the same time. Never requiring her for the service he pays her extravagantly for just adds to the mystery.
I was pulled in hook, line, and sinker, folks. Unfortunately, the author did add some elements I do not particularly care for in my romantic reads. There is another woman named Penelope that has obvious ongoing history with Beckham. An explanation is given later, but I still didn’t like it. I'll leave it at that, folks, since I may say too much. Just know as an avid romantic at heart, I'm not a fan of anyone coming between the main couple. In fact, there were a couple times I was downright furious about this aspect.
Beckham’s big bad secret didn’t come as too much of a surprise to me. I mostly started to suspect and guess what was going to happens towards the end, as the author dropped some clues if you paid attention.
What surprised me was the graphic OTT, out of the blue, sex club scene that felt like witnessing sexual assault on a stage. Sure, it made the vamps come across as sex deviants, but I also didn’t need another play by Penny to appear she was Beckham's girl, especially since Beckham wasn't keeping his hands off Reyna moments earlier.
If you are into this genre and don’t mind other woman drama, you might want to check into this series. The writing flows and stays engaging, though little happens for some time. I’m sorry to say it looks like the author has decided to take three books instead of one to wrap up the story line. Based on the titles alone, it gives a good glimpse of what the main theme will be in each one. I am curious to see how it all turns out. I've got a feeling humans are going to join forces with unexpected allies to put a stop to being forced to be at the mercy and so subservient to vampires by the final conclusion.
Title: Blood Type, Series: Blood Type (Book 1), Author: K.A. Linde, Pages: 290, vampire paranormal, ends in a cliffhanger, heroine is human, vampire hero, graphic sex club scene, attempted rape, OW drama, heroine feels rejected/humiliated, not romance safe, hurtful/callous at times hero.
Book 1 - Blood Type
Book 2 - Blood Match
Book 3 - Blood Cure
(I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was not given any payment or compensation for this review, nor is there any affiliation or relationship between this reviewer and the author/publisher/NetGalley.)

When I stumbled upon Blood Type and read the blurb, my interest was peaked and considering how much I’ve enjoyed the authors Wright family, I figured I’d give it a go since I’m always down for a good PNR especially when it’s by an author I already like.
Unfortunately, Blood Type just didn’t do it for me ~ or at least the romance side of it didn’t.
I loved the whole dystopian world thing with the vampires being the top dogs and a company that will match a human to them based on blood type. And while I would have liked a little more detail on the ‘collapse’ I rolled with it and was definitely interested in seeing where things were going to go with the ‘blood’ storyline.
But that’s kind of where things began and ended because I just couldn’t get into Reyna and Beckham and therefore their budding romance just fell flat for me. Reyna just gave me whiplash. I realize she is in a situation so far out of her league that she was going to stumble from time to time until she found her feet, but she never did. She made too many choices, some impetuous, some not, that landed her in situations that she needed saving from that it was simply tiring. Then there is Beckham. Believe me when I say that I LOVE me a tall, dark, handsome broody alpha AF male. I do. I LOVE them, and Beckham had that whole vibe going on, but even he fell short of the mark for me because he was too silent. I know? Is there such a thing? Yes. there is. I just needed more of him and I didn’t get it.
So with my very meh feelings towards Reyna and Beckham, it’s no surprise that the romance flopped for me, not that there was a lot going on. They barely spoke and when it they did it was stilted at best. True, Beckham saved her life a few times, but I also kind of blame his silence on why she ended up in some of them. Awkward interactions and the constant push and pull going on just didn’t give me enough to believe that they could have more.
It truly does pain me to not have enjoyed this book more. It really does, but it is what it is. You win some, you lose some and this book and I just didn’t work out like I had hoped we would.
