I received a Free prequel Teaser from Net Galley, for my honest unbiased review.
When I came across this book, I was quite intrigued. The premise is good. The way the author presents the scenery is pretty good. However, and unfortunately, it wasn't deliver very well. Many times I got confused on who was speaking. Sometimes I would get confused on who the person was speaking too. At one point a character went from one title to another and another and then again. It can get quite confusing. If you wanted to word play, then it would be best to describe the character as their first meeting in the story. (Example of the Dukes Mother: ...she's his Mother and unfortunately a Dowager and to his wife, a wonderful Mother-In-Law. This way it's all explained and therefore you can pick One Title to write in the story so we readers don't get confused.). Another problem was how the conversations were delivered. The majority of the story didn't flow seamlessly. It felt choppy and unfinished. So, unfortunately, this was very difficult for me to finish reading.
As for recommending it, that's a no and maybe answer. If you have any type of pet peeve with any of the things I mentioned, you will not enjoy this. However, if you can overlook these issues and figure out how to follow the story without needing to stop and reread most of the sentences, then go for it. Because like I mentioned, the story has a good premise, it's just not a real good deliverance. I wish the author the very best!
