I thought the book was pretty good. Saul is a great writer and it kept my attention. It's interesting post apocalyptic where people are in bunkers and an illness breaks out. So now people are having to deal with a pandemic and how the virus spreads, infects and unexpected symptoms.

Tanpepper does a great job of constructing an environment for survivors of a viral outbreak that are alive because they are closed off from the outside world. His cast of characters is a likely mash-up of people that could end up as survivors. Knowing human nature, I would have expected their little society to break down sooner than it did, but I enjoyed his version of the end of our world as we know it. And now I'm committed to finding out what happens next. Contain is a great introduction to Tanpepper's dystopian world. If you like dystopian novels, you don't want to miss adding this one to your library!!

I enjoyed this story by Saul Tanpepper very much. As with all of his works, it is packed tight with adventure, excitement and just enough terror to keep me turning pages late into the night. I just had to finish reading before I could even think of trying to sleep. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

A post-apocalyptic thriller set in a community sheltering in one of several underground survival bunkers from the Flense - a mysterious contact-based disease that turns humans into soulless Wraiths who destroy everything in their path. When someone from the outside turns up at the bunker door, seemingly untouched by the disease, the survivors have to decide whether to let him in - a decision that will have far-reaching consequences...
This is a decent chunk of post-apocalyptic fiction, but I did feel it didn't really introduce anything particularly new to the genre. It reminded me a lot of Hugh Howey's Wool Trilogy with flashes of Justin Cronin's Passage Trilogy. Good company to be in, for sure, but it did feel more derivative than additive to the genre. That said, this is the first volume in a series, so it has every chance to develop - this is certainly a great solid foundation to build on, and I look forward to reading the next installment to see where things go. An engaging and pacy read.

This is the first book of three of subseries in the longer Flense series. Part one The Flense started it all in China. This is a awesome story assuming you don't spook easy, as it easily could come true someday, and that is a bit scary, but the actions and suspense is so much fun to read, that it easily make this a not to be missed series.
This will be added on noted pub date April 25
