This was a very scary and stalkery book and gave me chills from the beginning to the end. I enjoyed the book, and recommend it to anyone who likes a good scary read!
This book is everything a psychological thriller/mystery should be! The author created characters that are well developed and a plot that moves along quickly! I found myself completely immersed in this one! Highly recommend!

You know that prickly feeling you get on the back of your neck? Like something is “off” but you can’t quite figure out what it is? Alice gets that feeling. A lot. Because someone is stalking her, coming into her house and leaving subtle clues he’s been there, taking photos of her when she’s out and about.
I enjoyed this psychological suspense novel. Alice’s fear was, at times, palpable. I got a sense of the frustration and terror she felt at not being able to prove her stalker existed. Because the police can’t find trace of him, they offer no protection or recourse. I was pleasantly surprised by the ending because I did not figure it out beforehand—unusual for me.
The book is very well written, and I would absolutely recommend it to others! Matthew Iden has written several other novels, which I must now go read! =)
Thank you to NetGalley and Kobo Writing Life for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Imagine having a stalker and yet no one, including the cops, believed you? How frustrating!
Well, that's what happens to Alice in In Her Image. One morning at the local bakery Alice collides with a man dropping her things. He insists in replacing her items. As soon as she turns to depart he offers her a business card. He is a photographer that places models with different companies and Alice has just the right look. Call it vanity or her recent break up but she decides to call him to do the photo shoot.
The photo shoot goes smoothly and he comes across as professional and charming. No worries, right? That is until she see's the pictures that he sends.
From here little things keep happening that ramp up Alice's paranoia. She goes to the police but, alas, with no evidence there isn't much they can do. Will Alice try to take matters in her own hand?
This book is written well but it's all just very repetitious. Every chapter we're inside Alice's mind where she continually asks "Why Me?" Who would do this?" "I'm so frightened." "What should I do next?" "Who will help me?" .... You get my drift. We do get occasional chapters where the "Stalker" addresses us but I wanted to get into his mind more. I think it would of made it all more interesting to see inside the mind of the creeper but I'm weird like that.
The final conclusion, the why of it all, left a little to be desired for me. All in all not too bad and I did manage to finish it. It's just not anything you haven't read before.

Another great Adam Croft book, he never fails to disappoint. Highly recommended
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC in return for an honest review.
While an OK read, this book lacked the suspense needed to make it great. Croft tried to write Alice as an unreliable narrator, but she didn’t really fit into that category. The stalking situation was on the unbelievable side and Alice’s reaction seemed to escalate too quickly. Not one I will remember for long.
A really good gripping read. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Imagine having a stalker who is watching your every move and has been in your house while you've been asleep but nobody believes you this is the predicament of Alice Jefferson. She is left with no option but to go after the stalker herself and thus begins a tale that will keep you hooked all the way through to the shocking twist at the end!!!!
This is my first book by Adam Croft but it definitely won't be my last I'm hooked !!!!!!!
Thank you very much to NetGalley for the ARC of In Her Image by Adam Croft in return for an honest review.

When Alice Jefferson collides with Gavin Armstrong on a pavement he offers to take photo-graphs of her and send them to modelling agencies. Alice agrees, but when he emails her some of the photos she’s perturbed to find that in one of them she’s in her underclothes and isn’t aware that the photo had been taken. Gavin starts stalking Alice and she reports him to the police but they can find no trace of him or his email address, and the studio he used has been empty for some years.
Adam Croft has written a chilling psychological thriller with a tense and gripping plot. Though disturbing, this novel had me enthralled and as the tension built I started to dread what would happen to Alice next. I was unable to stop reading until the shocking conclusion which left me holding my breath.
Well written. A dark and twisted story of a man seeking something. A young woman caught in the crosshairs strictly because of her looks. A young woman who has battled her own demons and looks like she may be battling those demons once again. She finds she is stronger than she thinks.
'In Her Image' has been marketed as 'the sensational bestselling psychological thriller everyone's talking about' - very high praise for a book and a statement which gives very high expectations indeed!
Alice Jefferson finds herself being stalked. Throughout the course of the book, things get more and more sinister and her anxiety and fear levels increase ten-fold, as you would expect. It's not clear who the stalker is, and we are taken on a journey in which we follow clues to try and work out - at the same time as Alice - who the stalker is. I found the book to be fast-paced, and Croft was able to build plenty of suspense. This was definitely a book I couldn't put down, reading it in two days and eating in to my valuable sleep time!
I really enjoyed Croft's writing style, and liked that he doesn't overload the read with unnecessary details or flourishes. However, as great as the bulk of this book is, I was largely disappointed with the ending. It seemed a little too extreme and I did not find it a satisfying end. It felt as though the word count had been reached and then Croft had to quickly tie up the ends. That being said, I would highly recommend this book for the quality of writing and the 'just right' amount of suspense it offered.
Yet another excellent psychological thriller from Adam Croft who excels in this genre.Alice finds strange things starting to happen to her after a photo shoot she is offered,a stalker is following her and freaking her out and when the police can't find any trace of the the man Alice is forced to question her sanity. What follows is a gripping story which draws you in to the plot and is very believable, and the short punchy chapters make the book so you can't put it down.Adam Croft is fast becoming a real force in this genre of book and long may it continue an excellent 5 star read.
