The Series didn't really hook in me so I won't be reading the rest of them!

A hard but necessary episode, interesting to see everyone's individual decisions

This entire episode is set aside for Cole’s ‘trial’, as the kids plead their cases to either leave Cole behind to fend for himself, to kill him outright, or to bring him along. It was interesting to see these kids having to make some exceptionally adult decisions, more than at any other time of the series. A person’s life is at stake and they must play judge, jury and executioner towards a boy who won’t defend himself; won’t talk about what happened; and ultimately tells the rest of the group to just kill him and get it over with.

I think the most interesting part of this installment, for me, was how the keepers reacted to the whole thing. They allowed the kids to come to their own form of justice, but ultimately made a stand for what they believed in. The more I read about the keepers the more I like them, and the more disgusted I am with the humans that created them to be nothing more than mindless emotionless machines. Especially since they obviously aren’t emotionless by any means. I would like to see the keepers get something out of this by the end of it.

Another thrilling addition to the series. Man, it just keeps you on the edge of your seat. Fast paced, engrossing, must read. 4.5 out of 5 stars.
