I’ll admit that the hero in Kylie Scott’s Chaser was not my favorite person in the first two books, so I was worried if this book would be as good as the other books in the Dive Bar series and I’m happy to say it fits in wonderfully. The perfect mix of humor, emotion, humility, and sexiness made Chaser a wonderful ending to a stellar series.

Eric Collins has led a pretty charmed life, he enjoys his single status and his “good time, not a long time” policy with women. After his business partner and friend miscarried their child, a product of too much liquor and not enough sense, following an auto accident, and his friends all paring up, Erin has been reevaluating his life. Tired of being accused of being shallow, Eric begins to think of doing things differently including taking some time to find a woman to date long term and even a stint at celibacy despite his new next door neighbor who just happens to be gorgeous, pregnant, with no one special in her life and at odds with her family.

Moving across country at 7 months pregnant was a decision that Jean Antal didn’t take lightly, but following her grandmother’s death, her unexpected pregnancy, and her parent’s contesting her grandmother’s will and questioning her ability to parent on her own, Jean decides to move to be closer to her online friend Nell and in the process finds a whole lot of people who offer her friendship and make her feel safe in her new home. Especially her next door neighbor Eric who has a reputation for being a bit of a self centered manwhore, but who has shown her time and time again he is reliable and responsible.

I found it so interesting that for a guy who was all about the good time, found peace and serenity with a woman who was pregnant and even more so when her baby came into the world. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop from friendship, to confidants, to friends with benefits, and finally more. I loved that Jean and Ada helped Eric to see himself in a different light and that he wanted to be a better man for them. More than that his complete adoration of baby Ada and her mother made it easy to see that his priorities shifted and despite what his friends and family thought of him, Jean saw the man beyond his reputation.

Chaser was a fantastic end to an exceptional series in addition to offering up a wonderful romance. Kylie Scott continues to impress me with her storytelling ability and I can’t wait to see what she offers her readers next.

Chaser was not my favorite book of the stage dive series however I did really enjoy getting to know Eric on a much deeper level. His portrayal as a player through the previous books did not leave him painted with the best picture. When Faced what would be a truly challenging for him, Eric did change my perceptions of him in unexpected ways. Kylie Scott finished off the dive bar series on a great note and I very much enjoyed getting to spend time with these characters

Eric is one of those supporting characters whose presence is stronger than most, and I've been curious as to what--or who!--it would take for him to get his act together. Now, while the guy may be deserving of the teasing and moments of disbelief when he says he's going to be a good boy (my words, not his), I wasn't a fan of the treatment he received from Nell time and again. Yes, Nell's opinion of Eric was well-founded, but it felt more like she was determined to see him as nothing more than his reputation rather than be open to the possibility that he could actually grow up and be a mature member of society, or at least their circle of friends. But this book isn't about Nell; it was about Eric and Jean, and these two had an unexpected path to happily-ever-after. I liked that she wasn't a pushover and that they took things slow, becoming friends first before anything romantic or intimate took place. I loved how Eric was with Ada, and the cameo appearance by the Stage Dive couples was very much appreciated on my end. As always, Kylie Scott delivers a lighthearted and entertaining love story with Chaser, which gets 4.5 stars. ♥

I must say this wasn’t what I was expecting, but none the less, it was very enjoyable. The story was intriguing and held your attention. The characters were easy to relate to and connect with. Kylie Scott fans, and fans of the romance genre will find this novel very enjoyable!

Eric doesn’t do serious relationships. The guy doesn’t even do common responsibility aka responsibility is not his middle name. I would even go one step further, and say it’s not in his vocabulary.

So suddenly him having a female friend, who he’s not sleeping with, and even helping her with her newborn. Call me shook. Honestly even Eric himself doesn’t understand it.

I loved seeing this turnaround in Eric. While he’s still selfish to a certain level, I liked seeing him care so much about other people. He’s a pretty decent friend if he wants to.

Jean doesn’t really know how to feel or think about Eric. On the one hand there is gratitude for all his help. At this point in her life she would be lost without him. On the other hand there is this growing attraction between them that is driving her nuts.

Sexual tension runs high, and badaboong…things explode, drama ensues, and Eric really has to figure out what kind of man he wants to be.

Chaser turned into quite a surprising story. I mostly loved seeing Eric interact with the baby. Talk about ovaries exploding. Jean was exactly what he needed, and she is just lovely. I’m writing this review a couple of weeks after I read the story, and now all I want to do is reread Chaser.

Chaser is the 3rd standalone in the Dive Bar series... I read the first one “Dirty” but somehow missed the second and now I read Chaser’s blurb and I was completely sold.

Eric is the typical womanizer, he has all the looks for the bad boy but he is not getting any younger and something about that is bothering him. He wants to make a change of his life and be a better person a change the impression everybody has on him.

Jean needed a change, after accepting the offer one of her online friends made her, she can’t refuse the sweet offer. She needs a better life for her and her baby. She is an independent woman but she never thought she will find different kind of family. A family she desperately needed even when she didn’t know it.

Eric being Eric, can’t deny the attraction he feels for Jean, she is gorgeous and fun and easy to talk, the perfect prospect to change his way, only she doesn’t come alone. Eric has never thought about fatherhood and a life with a child, but he can’t resist Jean and her beautiful baby.

What it started as a friendship, soon ended like something else, something complicated for their current lives.

Jean priority is her baby and she doesn’t need more complications with a man.

“Being with them made me feel good, gave me a purpose. They make me want to be better, to do better.”

I loved how Eric made all those changes, not only for Jean but for himself. It was sweet seeing him so nervous about a girl when he never has trouble with women. And it was even sweeter seeing him forming a friendship with a baby.

Kylie really got me with this story, about the chances we all have in life and how we need to take the risk to have a better life. Jean and Eric are wonderful characters and the support of certain friends is something I loved. Family is not always about blood but about love.

So I read the last book in this series and when I got to the end and read the teaser for this I was hooked. The whole premise was right up my alley and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

Eric wasn't my favourite character and although he previously came across a little self centered and immature I felt sorry for him. He seemed like a good guy. And I am a sucker for a redeemable arsehole.

Naturally Jean was awesome and I really enjoyed the instant connection between her and Eric. But mainly I just enjoyed watching Eric grow up and find what he deserved. And seeing him come through for someone other than himself was awesome.

On a complete side note, Nell drove me nuts through out this whole book and while she wasn't a main character she annoyed me enough I had to vent about it. That and I never felt like she made up for being an arse to Eric for the whole book.

This whole series has been great. Although if you aren't ready to commit to a whole series it could absolutely be read as a stand alone.

So while I loved this.... It wasn't one of my favorites by this author.
Eric as the main character was hard to wrap my mind around because he kind of rambles on, all the time... We do gets to know him on a deeper level though.
Jean shows up out of no where and knocks him down a few pegs with a baby on board.
This was my favorite part, when Eric steps up and volunteers to help Jean with her newborn. He surprises the readers with how much he invest in someone he recently met.
It's an strong storyline but it's not a favorite for me.

Oh CHASER! I DEVOURED Kylie Scott’s latest Dive Bar novel, Chaser, in one sitting! It’s so DELICIOUSLY DREAMY. I LOVED being back at The Dive Bar again with the cast of characters at the bar that truly feel like MY friends and family. Eric won me over with his huge heart and new lease on life, and I fell for this hero hard! Jean and Eric had this INSTA-CHEMISTRY, the kind of fire felt through the pages. I ADORED them!

Chaser is so RIVETING and so RAW that it felt so REAL. Chaser CHARMED every ounce of me with its wonderful wit, scrumptious sexual tension, and sweep-me-away moments. I SWOONED so hard! Sweet and spicy like a shot of whiskey, Chaser is a SMOOTH, SLOW BURN straight to the heart.

I read my first Kylie Scott book last year and instantly fell in love with her writing. I’ve been meaning to read the Stage Dive series, and the Dive Bar books for a while now, but life keeps getting in the way. When I received the chance to read Chaser though, I jumped at the chance. It was the perfect motivation to start these two series, and I can’t wait to go back and read the other characters stories.

Chaser is the story of Eric, a notorious playboy and woman chaser. After being ridiculed about his lack of ability to hold down a relationship, he decides to try to find a steady girlfriend, and to take a sex break. When Jean enters the bar, he’s instantly attracted to her but once he finds out she’s pregnant he tries to steer clear of her. Events in his past have caused him to be leery of pregnancies, and he absolutely doesn’t want to get involved with a woman with a baby. But when Jean goes into labor early in the middle of an ice storm, Eric can’t leave her on her own, and a bond between the two is instantly created.

Eric is a great character. He’s funny, sweet, and an absolute delight when it comes to Ada, Jean’s daughter. There was a ton of personal growth in Eric’s character, and I loved seeing him go from this single bachelor only worried about one thing, to the doting dad and boyfriend. The scenes with him and Ada were my favorites, and there is just something about seeing a guy with a little baby that makes my insides all warm and gooey.

Jean was an absolute delight! She was a strong female character, who set out to raise her baby on her own. She had insecurities about her post baby body, and it made her character all the more real! Kylie did an excellent job of portraying those first few months of motherhood, and Jean took everything in stride. It was just perfect!

This was a 5 Star Read for me and I recommend it to anyone looking for a cute, quick romance with a great happily ever after!

Kylie Scott is one author that never disappoints! She has such a knack of writing serious storylines infused with hilarity and awkward banter between the characters and Chaser is no different!

Chaser was another fabulous addition tot the dive bar series, this time giving us Eric's tale of finding the one and falling in love. As always this isn't a smooth journey - but it was still well worth it.



Eric is absolutely gobsmacked by Jean from the start - there's something about her that just makes him pant - but it's more than that, it's more than his usual manwhore ways - but the problem lies in making Jean (and everyone else) see that this is something more. I really loved watching Eric grow and change in the story, from deciding he wanted to better and prove his friends and family wrong - to taking risks to be the man Jean and her baby deserved. It really made me fall in love with him all over again and I already kinda loved him from previous books, manwhore and all.



Jean's been through the ringer and though she's still standing, she's guarded and hurt, trying to bring her life together so she can be the best mother she can be. She's not interested in a man - so it's a good thing he's staying away - except when he doesn't.



I love the interactions between these two characters, how they find a friendship between them and how it eventually turns into something more. How Eric quickly falls for the baby as well - it was an organic feeling that developed over time - not rushed and yet no one could deny he was Ada's father after a time.



There were a few things in the book that bothered me - but they had nothing to do with Jean or Eric really - but rather other characters input and reactions to Eric and his changing ways. Bothered me, in that, I felt as close as they were, they didn't clearly see what was happening to their friend, but to be fair, sometimes when you are such a close knit group - it's hard to forget the past and the person you've known for years. It was good to see how hat worked into the story though, because it did feel it led to Eric trying harder and working things out.



Chaser was an amazing story, a story of a man determined to be the right person for the woman he's found a deep connection to - a man who wants a family with her if she'll have him. It's also teh story of a woman who's been the wild child, made mistakes, but is now focused on turning her life around and avoiding bad decisions in the future. And beyond that it's a story about a level of forgiveness between friends and moving past hurts.



This story is full of emotions, a few laughs tossed in, and a deep connection between two people that is strong enough to feel even when they aren't ready to own up to anything.

I've been looking forward to reading Eric's book – he was the party boy, a bit of a player and dressed to impress. He appeared to be so put together, but to me he was using all this to cover the hurt, loss and guilt that he had been through. It wasn't until Jean came into his life, that he started to pull himself together and decided it was time to settle down.

I enjoyed seeing the change in Eric; he kicked most of his old habits and stuck to his plan. I liked seeing him fight his feelings for Jean, but the pull for her was always there, even when he tried to run from her. It was amusing to see how he acted when he took her to the hospital, and also the way he bonded with Jean and the baby afterward.

Jean was so good for Eric, she brought out the best in him: goodness, sweetness and the possessiveness. She had hurdles of her own to overcome, and moved to a new town to do so. It was good to see the relationship with her parents mend slowly, but at times I didn't like the way they pushed her.

It was good to see the whole gang again, and the way they gelled together. I liked how Joe was able to lend support when needed and how most of them nudged Eric in the right direction when he was conflicted. However, Nell annoyed me a little, the way she treated Eric. They both lost something precious and it seemed that she put a lot of blame on Eric, despite the incident being an accident. She would constantly put him down and I could see the impact it made on him and how helpless he felt. I was just glad that Jean was there to help him mend again.

I thoroughly enjoyed the third book in the Dive Bar series. Kylie Scott has done a fabulous job at delivering each of these stories. I love that Eric's book was entirely from his perspective and I could feel the emotion through the pages. I loved that the Stage Dive family made an appearance too. I'm looking forward to Kylie's next project!

I ADORED this book and the characters! I loved the way Scott flawlessly blended the combination of a sweet and sexy romance.

Chaser is Eric’s story in the Dive Bar Series, and boy does he have a story to tell us. He is the bartender and part owner of the bar. He also has a not so good track record with relationships. Since he is getting closer to thirty and his friends and family are settling down, he thinks it is time for him to consider it. He has it all mapped out about how to go about dating. That was hilarious. He has no idea how complicated relationships and dating can be. When he sees a beautiful woman he has never seen before in the bar, he really believes this is the woman is going to date. Life is about to show him exactly how complicated and messy relationships can be. Imagine his surprise when he discovers his love interest is his friend, Nell’s friend, and she is VERY PREGNANT! I knew I would love watching Eric fall in love, and I was right!

Jean has come to town to start a new life for herself and her unborn baby. She doesn’t want any complications, so when Eric starts acting like a jerk, she is relieved. However, Eric is one of her neighbors, so she will have to see him. As time passes, the two develop a friendship, and the attraction between them becomes harder to ignore.

Eric was already irresistible, but he becomes even more so when Jean and her baby wrap him around their little fingers. Oh, my heart just turned to mush. There isn’t anything more attractive than a man who loves a baby!

The book is written entirely from Eric’s POV which I found refreshing. It gave me a deeper look into who Eric was as a person, and the man has a heart of gold. He was such a huge support system to Jean, and when he was there for Ada’s birth, he was a goner from that point on. That was very evident, and that was another reason I loved seeing his POV. It brought me to tears of joy. He, Jean, and Ada make the perfect little family. He loves his girls, and he will do everything in his power to protect them.

Scott never rushed their relationship. Their friendship gradually developed
over time, even when there was a powerful attraction just below the surface. That made the book even more realistic.

As much as this was a love story between a couple, this was also a love story about friendship and family. I have always been a fan of The Dive Series, and this made me become an even bigger one.

I love Chaser! Don't get me wrong, the story is good and this is the first book I read in the series.
The way the story started is amazing I loved it! Jean and Eric are good. Eric's POV is hilarious and loved it. There are times that I don't like Eric :(. Tho as the story goes, my gawd!!! I'm falling in love with him! Anyway, overall the is good and the characters are easy to relate with.

Okay, I'm going to be completely honest and Kylie Scott, if she's reading this, may or may not like it, but...it was Joanna Wylde who introduced me (via her Facebook page) to Kylie Scott's work and I loved Joanna's books enough to give Kylie Scott a try and I very soon found myself addicted.
I read her complete Stage Dive series in under a week and was so excited when she announced that she was writing the Dive Bar series.
This series, so far, has been captivating, compelling, with both emotional highs and lows and the third book in the series, Chaser definitely doesn't disappoint.
Eric Vail, was a character who I didn't really think that I would like after being portrayed in previous books as an immature, self-absorbed, manwhore douchebag but the growth and depths of his character shown throughout the course of the book and his love for Jean and Ada compltely changed my mind and he now may be giving Mal a run for his money in my Kylie Scott book boyfriend affections.
A tremendous book that I highly recommend.

My Review: Kylie Scott is one of my all-time favorite authors. An insta-buy, every time she releases something new. I loved the first two dive bar books, and figured the trend would continue... but then I learned Eric was the hero. And I'll admit, I was nervous. I haven't really liked him much throughout the series. He's had his good moments, but there was a lot of growing up he needed to do. But I'll read anything this woman writes, so read it I did. And guys... I'm a convert. I love him now. She made me fall for the big jerk, who's not as big of a jerk as I thought.

Like everything this author writes, this book was pretty much perfect. Really, my biggest complaint was that I wish it could have been longer so I didn't have to finish it so quickly. I loved seeing the dive bar crew again, and watching our hero and heroine fall in love just made me.. well, I got all sentimental and just wanted to gush about how much I loved it. Highly recommended, for sure!

Recommendation: Each can be a stand alone, but to get the full affect of this tight group of friends, you'll want to read the previous books.

I sort of became an instant fan of Kylie Scott after reading Trust and I was super stoked to see what else she had to offer. Chaser was definitely not a disappointment, though to be honest, it was pretty much a home run when I saw that the heroine was pregnant when she meets the hero. I'm basically trash for stories where the male lead is an unapologetic man slut (but not in a bad way), then fights tooth and nail when confronted with the one woman that makes him actually FEEL, and proceeds to fall head over heels for her. That's definitely the case with Eric and Jean and it has the added bonus of him falling in love with her baby as well! The tension that was created because of the contentious relationship between Eric and Nell (which totally made me want/need to read the first two books in the series to get the background on all of that) and between Jean and her parents elevated the book above standard romance fluff. I loved Jean and Eric as characters and their chemistry was just delicious! I can't wait to devour more from Kylie Scott and I hope we get more in the Dive Bar series. 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

Do you know how long I've been waiting for Chaser? A long time for sure! The time I spent waiting only made the trip back into the Dive Bar world that much sweeter. It was established previously in Twist how much of a player Eric is and it didn't look like he was in any hurry to change what was working for him. In walks Jean who knocks him sideways. He does the usual flirting but none of that will make a difference because ... she's pregnant! It feels like the world's cruelest joke that this really cool woman would be off limits in the ultimate way. Worse still is everyone's belief that he has and always will be a selfish womanizer. The amount of grief he's been receiving lately from his friends has him rethinking his lifestyle and now he's motivated to prove every single one of them wrong. He can be friends with a woman and not hit on her - he'll show them! With sex out of the equation Eric finds himself in one of the strangest but most fulfilling friendships that he has ever had.


I'd describe Eric as Mal-lite. Funny and at times childish but without the need to be the center of attention. (By the way, I love Mal but this was the first thought that came to my mind.) Eric's quite charming in his self-reflection and he had me chuckling at some of his observations especially when he was confused by his new behaviour. The change in his attitude from the beginning to the end is astonishing, even to his close circle of friends. A lot of the credit goes to Jean who while not completely immune to him also doesn't lead him on during the early days of their friendship. She's a steadying force and because she's new to the group, and doesn't have any previous history them, she has the distinct advantage to see Eric differently. That's the lightbulb moment that struck me: sometimes when you're so close to the situation or have dealt repeatedly with the same behaviour, you just kind of shut off and accept that things will never change. That's where his friends were at with him but not Jean. She saw the effort he was making and she encouraged his self-improvement, and I love them both all the more for it. When things do heat up between them they're both adults about it. These two with their subtle flirting and their growing bond make them my favourite couple of this series.


Kylie Scott is one of my absolute favourites. (I may have mentioned before that she ruined me for most other rockstar romances.) The unconventional romance along with her signature humour and witty dialogue makes Chaser a blast to read and you should definitely add it to your reading list!

It’s Eric’s turn in Kylie Scott’s third installment in the Dive Bar series. Eric’s womanizing, bad boy reputation comes to a head when he realizes just what everyone thinks of him, and most importantly, when he meets Jean, a pregnant newcomer who catches his interest. He’s caught up in a storm of self-doubt, trying to figure out who he is and who he wants to be.

Jean strikes his fancy from the very beginning, but finding out she’s pregnant is a punch to the gut. That’s a no-go for a guy like him, but unlike him, he can’t seem to stay away from her. And once the baby is born, he finds himself a new happy place with her and her baby girl.

But Jean and Eric are just friends, and despite feelings deepening every moment they spend together, it’s a much more complicated situation that it seems. He doesn’t want to ruin what they have with taking it further. When an unexpected conversation changes the game, however, they wade into uncharted waters, putting it all on the line.

This is a friends-to-lovers story that’s both sweet and refreshing. The narrative has a sort of redemptive quality to it, with Eric finding his way, his happy, where and with whom he least expects. I would have loved to hear Jean’s point-of-view to deepen our understanding of who they were as individuals, and who they are (and hoped to be) together, but overall, with a fast pace and so many sweet moments, it was such a fun book in which to escape.
