This book was actually unexpected. I got about half way and thought this was a nice light read with some tough issues young people can have in their lives. Albert comes from the very dysfunctional family where the dad is (to put it mildly) an asshole, the mother who likes to slide under the radar and the older brother who is the golden child.

Maddy (Madonna) comes from a single parent home, no idea who her father is and has a sister with autism and epilepsy. Her life revolves around her sister and her healthcare. Without her support, her mother would be unable to keep her sister Bee at home with them.

This book is about the romance and love that happens between these two young people who have their own problems in life, but are able to come together. What they share is amazing and I enjoyed the path of their love. Albert is a one of a kind guy and that's why Maddy love him. Not many people, man or woman, would understand the work it takes and the time that is put into someone with a severe disability.

So, I go from having a nice read about this romance when BAM! it hits me. The ending is just OMFG. I ended up with tears again (if you read my last review you would understand) and being unhappy with the ending. Now, saying that I am unhappy with the ending is nothing on the book. Without that ending, I may not have rated it as high, but I didn't want it and that's why I cried but in that way it was also a good ending you know. It's an ending that sticks with you for sure.

For me, characters are a huge part of any book. If I cant feel for a character, I cant get invested. I loved both Maddy and Albert. Maddy was willing to sacrafice her life for her sister who is unable to show her appreciation. It's complete love there. Albert is just Albert. One of a kind nice guy who is always seeking approval from his horrible father and being the rock for his depressed mother.

I just loved this book. It was a nice quick read (unless your me and have barely any time on your hands at the moment) with really strong themes and beautiful characters. Go check it out
