I love cowboys and second chance romances and we get the best of both worlds in Jennie Marts’ CAUGHT UP IN A COWBOY!

Rock and Quinn grew up next to each other, playing together, getting in trouble together, and falling in love under the Colorado sky. Then Rock crushed their love and Quinn’s heart in pursuit of his professional hockey dreams. That was nine years ago. Now Rock’s back at home to convalesce and secretly hopes to run into Quinn while he’s here.

Quinn can’t believe she’s looking in to the face of Rockford James as he pulls alongside her on the way back to her family’s ranch. Rock is sexier than ever but thankfully it’s dampened by Quinn’s tightly-coiled anger from what happened so many years ago. It doesn’t take long before Rock starts getting under her skin again and Quinn knows she’s in trouble. While these feelings are wonderful, the reality of Rock leaving to go back to his hockey team—and leaving her again—is constantly in her thoughts.

I absolutely LOVED this book! What I love most about second chance romances is that the characters have a history together. And boy, what a history these two have! I heart Rock and Quinn so much! Their chemistry was electric and their page time together was equally delightful and exasperating! A perfect pair!

I loved the small-town setting where everyone knows everyone else's business. It was quite entertaining when Rock and Quinn started spending time together, giving the townsfolk plenty to gossip about! I will say though, it didn’t take long for me to warm up to Rock. He was so amazing with Quinn’s son Max! Hold on to your ovaries ladies!

There were so many wonderful secondary characters that really added so much warmth and apple pie to the storyline! Apple pie in the sense that it’s both comforting and always reminds you of home. Annnnd now I’m hungry 😊

CAUGHT UP IN A COWBOY is everything I want in my romances and so much more! I invite you to take a chance on Rock and Quinn. You’ll laugh, cry and love right alongside them and their motley crew of family and friends!

A cowboy who is a hockey player? It’s like I’ve gone to heaven!

When this author has a new cowboy read, I’m elbowing my way to the front of the line. Rockford and Quinn bring love and family once again in a sweet second chance that brought so many happy surprises…

“Nine years ago, Quinn Rivers had given him her heart as well. Too bad he’d broken it.”

Rock and Quinn’s history was long ago but Rock, older and wiser, realized early on what he so callously threw away. With another chance to gain back what he lost, he was going to do whatever he could to get Quinn to forgive him. He missed his friend. He missed his lover….

Their trips down memory lane were sweet and showed how close they were before they fell in love. And made the loss of that love mean so much more. Time hadn’t stood still and Quinn was not alone anymore, not that Rock was fazed at all. He was so natural with Max, it was easy to see he cared about both of them. Max is Quinn’s world and everything she does, and hopes for, has him front and center. She is afraid to go down that road with Rock, even though she really, really wants to….

This was a second chance romance with an old love mourned, a friendship rekindled and a new love story to fill all the hurts. While things may have circled around and around a bit, that didn’t take away from the feels of this sweet, light, more than a cowboy, read.

I think that Rockford James, in Jennie Marts newest Caught Up in a Cowboy, is my new favorite hockey player. While he is pictured as a cowboy on the cover, I fell in love with his hockey side fast. Marts easy writing style had me captured from the first page. Rock and Quinn are a fun, second chance couple that kept me turning pages. There were a couple points that I wanted Quinn and Rock just to talk to each other, but Marts doesn’t draw those moments out. I am completely hooked on this series and can’t wait for the next installment.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

Rockford James is a hockey player who is coming home because of an injury. On his way to his families’ ranch he spots his high school sweet heart Quinn Rivers walking down the road with a bicycle dressed in a pirate outfit. Now all of the years that they spent together doing things flash in his mind and he still remembers leaving ten years ago for hockey and how he left her behind. Now she has a child by another guy who is not around and he wonders if and what he could do to make it different. It starts here giving her a ride to her families’ ranch which her father is not that happy in seeing him, and then goes into dressing up as a pirate. Helping with her son’s birthday. After the party and beginning the next day he works on getting to know her again and her son. Except for a time when the father comes back into the picture again you are routing for them. There are some twist and turns that I did not especially with the two parents, but that was nice. The characters were good and the story moved at a good paced, overall a very good book.

Oh my, what's not to love about a hockey star/cowboy. I have fallen in Love with Rock, watch out Quinn. Oh, I guess it's too late for that. Rock has returned home with an injury from the NHL, when he sees his old flame from high school, Quinn. He soon realizes the mistake that he made years ago and now to convince Quinn, that this is the real thing.

Loved these characters!! Rock is just so hunky and a very giving person. Quinn is a single mom but very independent and her son, Max is her number one. Max just steals the story, I just fell in love with him.

This story will leave you smiling, ok I did shed a tear or two. I highly recommend this book.

I thought this was a good read. The writing flowed well, and kept my attention. Rock and Quinn were good together, and they had pretty good chemistry. I like second chance romances, but sometimes it takes them awhile to get back to where they were. Rock wants to win Quinn back, and Quinn doesn't want him. Then it goes the other way. The only good thing to come out of the back and forth was that Rock learns to be a better person. The secondary characters were great too. Max was a good kid, and I could just picture him asking all his questions. I knew Monty coming back in the picture wasn't going to be a good thing, and I was right. I wish there would have been a better end to him. The only thing I would have liked would have been an epilogue. I like knowing how things are going for the couple in the future.
I voluntarliy reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

Rockford and Quinn have stolen my heart. If there is hilarious banter, I'm a goner. Right from the beginning I was chuckling and smiling along at their easy going nature. Sure, it had mixed emotions mixed in. Uncertainty in Quinn, after all, Rock had left her before for a hockey career he seems to still be very much in love with. He has anger about his injury. She has a son by another man. Suspense gets added. It's all over the place but I really enjoyed how they grow back to each other because there is growing on all their parts. It ends in a possible cliffhanger? Like it could end but it could continue?

This book was a cornucopia of goodness and I loved every moment of it. First of all, I love Football and I love cowboys - so for this to have a hero that has it all rolled up into one...makes my heart flutter. I loved Rock - he was flawed but knew he was and took action to keep from being the old him. He worked really hard not to be who he used to be but unfortunately, he kept dragging Quinn into his mess. This makes for a good story point for me as a reader. I like the old second chance trope that everyone and their brother/sister is putting out because this book put a really great spin on it. I'm usually not a fan of angst but this flowed well for me and I found myself losing myself in the story. When this happens - that's the gem!! I would definitely recommend this to anyone that loves hometown romances, second chance romances or even sports romances.

Caught Up in a Cowboy by Jennie Marts is the first book in her new series Cowboys of Creedence and I loved it.

It was sweet, fun, emotional and heartwarming second chance romance.
I loved Rock and Quinn together, they had amazing chemistry and watching them open their hearts, forgive past mistakes and love each other unconditionally warmed my heart.

Author Jennie Marts has given us great characters, a strong enjoyable storyline in Caught Up in a Cowboy and I can't wait to read more of the Cowboys of Creedence series.

This was super lovely.

We have James and Quinn. They were together many years before and now because James is back in town, they reconnect.

This is a second chance novel, which I love. It was interesting to see the chances they both went through all these years apart. I mean, Quinn is a Mom now; and he was a big shot now ‘going down’. And he also broke her heart all those years, that’s hard to forget. But he sure tries to make up for things.

I loved their interactions, their chemistry was palpable from the start and I just couldn’t help but root for them. I loved her son Max, it was a sweet addition to this.

This was a great start of a new series. Great writing (I’ve read other books from Ms. Marts, so that was a given for me) and characters and looking forward to reading more in the series.

*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*

First in a new series by Jennie Marts, Caught Up in a Cowboy, is a winner. Some how you fall in love with these characters who are far from perfect. The relationship between Rockford James and Quinn Rivers is a long complicated one. Still the author uses a light touch in this story, making it a fun, delightful read. Totally heartwarming but never sappy.

This is definitely a story of second chances. It is also one of friendship, regrets, forgiveness and new starts. The sincerity of the emotions, the genuineness of the personalities and the believability of events make this a remarkable first series book read. Score one for the hockey player and pirate cowboy of Creedence!

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Truly adored this story. Take two first loves, both flawed, but when you bring them back together it's true love all over again. Once I started reading this stop I could not stop, it is that much of a page-turner. Can't wait to read what comes next.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Second chance romances are so fun to read and this one has a bit of a twist because while Quinn is a single mother, the child is not Rock's. For all the years since he left, Rock has second guessed his selfish behavior and wants to end the hostility between them.

Quinn wonders if she should take a chance as she does not want her heart broken a second time. There are lots of problems that they need to deal with and more issues come along that will test their love.

There were times that I really wanted to hit Rock over the head and know some sense into him! And I was so glad that Monty got what was coming to him!

The ending was great and there was and equally great HEA that tied everything together!

Sometimes the things we do as teenagers, the exaggerated self-importance, the risks we took and the hearts we broke come back to haunt us for a very long time. Rock and Quinn know that truth very well, they’ve lived it every single day since Rock left his small town and the girl he loved far behind in his quest for his dream, for fame and perhaps to prove himself. Now, nine years later, Rock has come home to recuperate from an injury and his future is very much up in the air. With his professional career, certainly. And with the woman he loved long ago and never ever stopped loving. He knew he’d made the biggest mistake of his life when he didn’t take Quinn with him on that dream of his. Now he has to figure out if he can repair the damage done and finally get the girl he loved back where she belonged all along, right at his side.

The first story in a series always carries a lot of weight and expectations for me. It will decide if I continue with a series or if I stop at the first one. Caught Up In A Cowboy made that choice very easy. Quinn and Rock quite easily captured my attention and my emotions – and young Max was just the topping on the sweet deal that brings us into their world. It takes a strong man to admit when he’s messed up, it takes a wiser man to do something about it and fix the mistake. Rock might have acted foolishly as a younger man but he knows what he needs now and watching the interactions between Rock and Max simply melted my heart. Quinn is a strong woman, but one who made a choice based on pain. She cannot regret that mistake because it brought Max into her life. She never stopped loving Rock no matter how hard she tried to convince herself it was the wiser thing to do. Watching Quinn and Rock find their way back together was emotional, fun, steamy and a real joy. I had fun with this story and now I need to know what comes next. If you’re in the mood for a satisfying romance then I’d recommend Caught Up In A Cowboy, you just might find yourself a new series to enjoy as well – I know I have.

This is an incredible story of first love, heartbreak, and forgiveness. A second chance romance that will tickle your funny bone and warm your heart at the same time.

Rock is a hockey playing cowboy (what's not to love?) who returns home to find that while some things have changed the intense feelings he has for Quinn have not. If anything the attraction has grown stronger than ever. Now Rock just has to convince Quinn he's willing to do whatever it takes to get another chance.

I highly recommend this one.

“You weren’t just my girl; you were my best friend. And I remember everything.”

Charming, easy and enjoyable—quite simply, that’s how I would describe Caught Up in a Cowboy.

I’ve read and loved many books by Jennie Marts, so I went into this one confident I was going to have a good time. And I did. Rock and Quinn’s relationship rekindles amid sparks of… something, and it was kind of addictive to see them come together.

And it was definitely addictive seeing this cowboy-slash-hockey player warm up to—and fall in love with—Quinn’s young son. I mean, is there anything swoonier than a big guy bonding with a little guy? Hardly.

Caught Up in a Cowboy is a light-hearted story that packs a little punch. Though I felt it went back and forth a little too much at times, I was more than pleased by the overall story—and the lovely ending.

If only there’d been an epilogue. No matter—it seems this is just the first of a new series, and with a little tease about one of Rock’s brothers piquing my interest, I’m confident I’ll be charmed again by this series in no time.

“You look like a woman who’s just been thoroughly kissed.”
“Not thoroughly enough.”

~ FOUR STARS ~

**Review scheduled on blog for 5/01 at 6am PST**

Caught Up in a Cowboy was such a fun, heartwarming story! I loved how quickly we jumped in and I found myself completely captivated by Quinn and Rock. Their back story, their family, and their run ins all had my full attention. And with moments of sexiness, heartache, and laughter all tied together, it made for such a charming book!

It didn’t matter how many sparkles of heat shot through her or how ridiculously muscled his arms were or how his offer of peace between them filled her heart with a secret longing of hope, the cold, hard truth was that he wasn’t back. Not really. He was back only for now.

Right from the start, Quinn and Rock met back up. It was hilarious, yet at the same time there was a lot of other emotions mixed in too. You see, Rock broke Quinn's heart 9 years ago. They were High School sweethearts who planned to spend their future together. But when Rock pursued his hockey career, he left Quinn in the dust. And with Quinn feeling bitter and upset, she had a one night stand which left her pregnant and alone. As years passed, Quinn and Rock ran into each other but it was always a tense and brief hello. But not anymore. Rock suffered an injury while playing for the NHL and he's back home on an extended break.

A thick chunk of regret settled in his gut, and he knew letting her go had been the biggest mistake of his life.

Through a fun turn of events, Rock found himself back in Quinn's life. And the chemistry between the two of them was definitely still there. You could feel it every time they were near each other. Even if Quinn still held her anger in a death grip, ha! And while I loved watching the tension between them build, I also loved how easily their friendship restarted. It was filled with honesty, teasing and it all felt so simple and heartfelt. Ohhh and I loved, loved, loved how quickly Rock and Max bonded. Max is Quinn's eight year old son and he was seriously the most adorable child ever. He made me laugh and smile so much. I loved how much heart he brought to the story! And while I watched them all interact, I started to imagine what they would be like. As a real family.

He picked up a loose strand of her hair and twisted it between his fingers. “You were the best part of my life, and for the past eight years, I feel like a piece of me has been missing. And that piece is you. I want you back in my life, Q.”

So while Quinn and Rock grew closer, I got Quinn's uncertainty. She'd been left and heartbroken by him in the past. And everyone knew that once Rock was healed, he was heading back to the NHL. Quinn tried her hardest to protect her heart, but Rock was persistent.... I loved that about him! Just you wait and see all that he does, sigh. But Rock definitely had some growing up to do and I loved how much he progressed as the story unfolded. He gained so much wisdom and insight being back home and I was so proud of him. It left me with a lot of faith, and I could easily see Quinn and Rock getting their happily ever after. Well that was until a different variable stepped in......the suspense was a lot of fun! I can't say anything more, other than I was impressed with how it all played out!

He gingerly set the necklace down and raised his hand to cup her cheek. “You still have it, you know. No matter where I’ve been, or what stupid decisions I’ve made, my heart has always belonged to you.”

Caught Up in a Cowboy was such an adorable story! There were a few cheesy moments in the beginning, but it was definitely warranted. All I can say is birthday party and pirates.....it made me laugh and smile. And if you're a fan of families playing an integral part in stories, you're in for a treat. I absolutely loved both of their families and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that their brothers will get their own stories down the road. So if you love second chance romance, with family thrown in the mix, definitely check out Caught Up in a Cowboy! It was such a cute story and I'm looking forward to the future books in this series!

Rock gave up on his past to score a brighter future. Quinn was a casualty of his pride, that left him with a ton of regret and her with a broken heart. But circumstances change and so do people. Will the maturity he lacked in the past, help him regain the heart he desires most? How do you mend a broken heart? By proving you deserve a second chance. Ms. Marts tickles the funny bone as she sets out to warm the heart. Caught up in a Cowboy shows the value of forgiveness and the healing power of love.
