This was a cute funny book! A second chance romance that was fun and a great read! I will be reading more of this authors work!

This is the first book I've read by this author, and I can honestly say I'm now a true fan or her writing. The story started off strong right out if the gate, the visual of Quinn was absolutely hilarious as seen through Rock's eyes. The authors ability to bring life to the characters and their surroundings is a gift, using her well crafted words to paint a perfectly clear picture in my mind's eye made the story even more realistic. As second chance romance stories go, Rock and Quinn made this one unique through the depth of the history that brought them back together, then held them there.

The dialog and banter was humorous and priceless at the same time. The characters were flawed, yet drawn realistically so it was easy to see them clearly as only human in their decisions and mistakes made. Rock's sincerity and humility totally pulled at my heartstrings. It took him some time to realize his selfishness, but once he recognized what he'd lost through his past actions based on that mentality, he humbled himself to right his wrongs towards Quinn. For a big tough hockey player having no problem baring his sole to the love of his life stole my breath away.

The story ended by saying it was only the beginning...I hope this means that this is the beginning of a series for these families and this town.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

A fabulous and entertaining take on the childhood sweethearts trope, laced with love, humor and some sorrow about lost opportunities.
Rock, Quinn and Max are great characters, as well as all the side characters.
Rock is a great hero, funny, affectionate, a bit bossy, his intensity a bit overwhelming sometimes, but humble enough to recognize his mistakes. I loved that he didn’t take himself or his celebrity status too seriously – in fact, we see much more of the hardworking cowboy than the hockey player – and adored his self-deprecating sense of humor. The way he cherishes Quinn, their love as teenagers and their adult relationship is awesome. Quinn is a wonderful heroine too, and the way their relationship evolves from teenage love to adult love is beautifully rendered, surely one of the best dimensions of the novel.
The small town setting and the ranch life are also quite effective, enriching the plot and characters with its believability.
I was laughing in some scenes – for example, the exchange of text messages before their late night meeting – and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author and about these cowboys from Credence - Colorado (maybe Colt and Chloe will have a story…).

This is an entertaining book that I just loved. Rock is a flawed, but very real cowboy that left the ranch to play in the NHL, while leaving Quinn, the love of his life behind. Quinn never recovered from the broken heart he caused, when Rock is sent to the ranch to recover from a serious concussion.

Adult Rock regrets the immature actions of teenage Rock and has tried to become a better adult and make decisions not motivated by selfishness. Unfortunately, that leaves Quinn caught in the crosshairs once again while she worries about her wounded heart and young son.

This novel has a bit of everything, from fun antics, romance, and family angst. I found myself turning pages just as quickly as possible. Fans of the genre will want to put this one at the top of their TBR list. This is releasing just in time for summer weather and is perfect to read on the beach or by the pool.

The book was a little slow and took too long to really get moving. I really wanted to like Rock but he was a little too whiny and woe is me for my tastes.
