I normally love this author’s books and to be fair I did enjoy this story but there was a nasty fattest undercurrent that really put me off. Quotes like this -‘Amy would be able to eat the entire picnic , Tash was sure. But like a lot of chubby women, she was too self conscious to eat too much in public. Tash knew the signs. She’d been like it once.’ - made me dislike the main character, the underlying idea that you can’t possibly have a wonderful life until you lose weight really rankled. I mean ‘chubby women’? Generalising much?!
