I felt like this book was very anti-climactic. Mrs. Anne tells us in the very beginning that she assumes Sophie ran off with Mr. Oto, and that is exactly what we are left with in the end. The most exciting part of the book is a couple meetings by the water for painting. I can see how this story might make a more interesting movie, though.
