This volume will not download on any of my devices so I am unable to review. I have submitted it as "not reviewable" before but it is still showing up on my shelf as requiring a review.
ARC from Netgalley.
Volume 2 continues the intensity while leading closer to the beginning of the video game.
Here we have:
- The Green Wedding; between Ollie and Dinah, has to have battle, which it does, and after, they head off to rescue their son (as well as Black Lightning's two daughters and Harley's daughter)
- Needing help on the rescue effort, they recruit Plastic Man and his son
- Part of the rescue involves Batman seeking to rescue Alfred (brought back to life by a Lazarus Pit) from Damian
-During the rescue, Harley turns back from Ra's and the Suicide Squad to assist in the rescue, putting her child first. When Deadshot is about to trigger her head bomb, it fails due to The Atom cutting the wires.
-While the rescue is going on, Batman has left Aqualad and Steel in charge of the safety of the new President-Elect. Fearing an attack, they continue to look for suspicious behavior. Aqualad, being the traitor the whole time, causes an attack that kills the majority of the American Government, leaving next in the chain of command (or the next President) Black Lightning.
-Ra's, with the help of Ivy, Vixen, and Animal Man, has built an underground sanctuary that contains lots of rare plant and animal species. When battle between the forces breaks out, Blue Beetle, who had been left as an outside guard for their escape route, bursts in and begins an attack. Hitting El Diablo with the full force of his cannons, Blue Beetle causes El Diablo to not be able to hold on to his inner flames, and as he lashes out, it destroys everything in the sanctuary.
- Ra's vows revenge and tells Batman he has doomed humanity forever.
- The Volume ends with our heroes going to the sub-BatCave, which houses a huge, mysterious observation system known as Brother Eye (which we see in the video game).
Really looking forward to more Volumes of this. Just as great as the game.
Recommend.
Unfortunately, the downloaded link did not work. I was unavailable to download again because it was archived.
It actually starts with a bit of a happy bit with Dinah and Ollie. Of course, that doesn't last long, and Connor as well as Jefferson Pierce's two daughters. And then when Damian as Nightwing takes Alfred from his grave (where could that go wrong?) Batman, Jefferson, Batgirl, and everyone have to go after all of them.
We also than get to see Harley trying to sorta help the kids. We got quite a bit of Harley Quinn in this one (although I always want more). And her stuff with Poison Ivy (of which there definitely wasn't enough) was nice (need more of those kisses).
It was an interesting TPB and the ending... I'm notsure I love where it might go. But, since I've liked it so far I'll probably give it a chance.
I received this book via Netgalley thanks to DC Entertainment.
Green Arrow and Black Canary are getting married. Damian is stealing Alfred's body. And Ra's Al Ghul is stealing Black Canary's son and Jefferson Pierce's daughters. Batgirl leads the rescue team which is successful in retrieving the children with Plastic Men's assistance, but disaster still happens. Plenty of action, plenty of mayhem, plenty of intrigue to entertain the reader.
I am glad I decided to read this comic. I loved the first two years of Injustice and this new addition was just as good. Love the illustrations, they are very colorful and the action scenes were perfectly drawn. The story felt a bit rushed for me, but all in all was great. I can't wait for more of this universe.
This book has unfortunately lost all of the meaty, gritty Civil War-styled supes against supes action. This volume (certainly without having read the one before) is a bit of a mess, with too many characters popping up when you'd never seen them in the story and so don't even know what side they were on, too many characters popping up or being mentioned when they also would appear to be dead, and a lot else besides. Harley seems to change her side and/or mind every second panel, which I assume is the joke. But more importantly it's just a humdrum Bats vs Ra's drama, and a quite forgettable one. Two and a half stars.
In this worthy follow up to the first volume, we begin with the Green Wedding (which mercifully is less bloody than GRRM’s Red Wedding) and progress to war between Batman’s team and Ra’s al-Ghul’s. There are some surprises (I really liked Plastic Man somehow!) and good arguments made on each side, and of course in war there must always be sacrifice.
Injustice 2 volume 1 was all about Harley and her amazing personality. Volume 2 is all about Conner, that dopy little brat that is the offspring of The Green Arrow and The Black Canary. I seriously want to keep this kid around.
Different factions have set hero against hero; team Green and team Humanity. It’s all a swirl of confusion on just who can be trusted and who will ultimately be marked as a traitor in this war for Humanity.
Throw in a impromptu wedding, kidnapping, and some seriously awesome super-kids and volume 2 of this series is just as good as the first.
A good solid storyline and beautiful, dark and impressive artwork. With a couple twists I didn’t see coming!
Thank you NetGalley and publisher, DC Entertainment, for the opportunity to read this ARC.
This was fun, funny, and I quite enjoyed the twists throughout.
"Ra's al Ghul said, 'Ouchy'?!" :D
More of the excellent series that is Injustice. Tom Taylor continues to deliver a riveting story, the art is still solid. I can't wait for volume 3!
Injustice 2 Vol.2 is captivating with writing at its finest. A story line that ensnared me from page one and could not be pried from my hands until I finished it. The art is splendidly dark and stunning to fully illustrate the story. From a wedding to a kidnapping to impeding doom with a demon thrown in the mix, it keeps the pages turning for a mind blowing read. The story is so full of twists and turns, the good guys and the bad guys get a little mixed up. Harley rocks as always and the kids show promise for future stories. Overall, this story line would be great cinematic action and is down right spectacular in graphic novel form. I feel traumatized slightly but still with the need to re-read. Just wow!
