I am a crafter and this book is chock filled with easy, creative and fun projects. The patterns are simple to follow and the range of ideas are plentiful. Many would be perfect and simple gifts and the range of beading ideas is diverse. A great and fun book for any beader, new to the craft or experienced.

This book is great for short projects. The formatting was a little off but I did enjoy the step by step guides.

This is a great book for everyone, beginners and seasoned beaders as well. The first part of the book explains beading in full. Everything from tools, types, tips, materials and more. Then you get over 30 projects with step by step easy to follow instructions. The projects in the book are great for jewelry, clothing, and more. All of the projects are made to be complete over a weekend.

I love all of the different beading projects. Some are made from string and small beads some are large beads and wire. The book is great to make projects as listed or you can even add your own twists to the project. These projects are great for making and giving as gifts as well.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.

This book has a variety of beading projects for different techniques and levels of skill. You will find projects using the techniques of bead stitching, stringing, bead embroidery, loom work, knotting, and wirework. Projects include necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pendants, an eyeglasses chain, a key ring, a beaded lamp shade, and adding beads to an evening bag, a scarf, napkins, a sachet, a shawl, hair accessories, a lamp shade, a candle, and a table runner. The first chapters show you the materials, tools, and techniques that you will use to create these projects. You will learn about the types of beads, threads, wires, stringing materials, findings, and tools used in beading and jewelry making. The book teaches you Peyote stitch, netting, square stitch, fringing, loom work, knotting, crimping, bead embroidery, creating loops, working with jump rings, and making chain. The first chapters cover all you will need to know for making the projects. The projects vary from beginner, intermediate, and advanced skill levels. Each project lists all the materials, tools, and time needed, and has step by step, easy to follow instructions with photos for each step. Some projects also have variations that you can make using the same steps. A list of suppliers and an index is at the end of the book. The only problem I had with this book was that many of the photos in my advance digital copy were blank. I am looking forward to recreating some projects from this book. Beaders and jewelry makers will want to add this book full of fun beading projects and ideas to their collection. I received an advance digital copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

If these type books hard to use. While it is great they are in ebook format, I find have to print many of the instructions. Good for reference. This books illustrations are quite good and the projects look fun.

As a beginner beader, I recognize that I need a more basic level of learning than this book uses, so I'm going to go learn from a friend who I just found out is a more advanced beader, then come back to this book. I really do want to attempt these projects!

The projects in this book cover a range of skill levels, beading techniques, and styles. I’m interested in trying over half of them. The techniques included are bead weaving, bead embroidery, bead stringing, and wire work.

Besides the projects, the book also has a section to teach a variety of essential skills, and it also has a section covering supplies. I found the instructions to be clear and helpful (along with the great photos), but as with a lot of instructions, I had to supplement these with other sources (such as online, Youtube, other books) to fully understand. I’m currently working on the loom bracelet project.

The projects in this book are great for learning basic beading techniques, and I’m looking forward to trying many of them.

I am so looking forward to retirement! I have been collecting beads since Hector was a pup and am looking forward to creating jewelry and other other fun things with them. This book had so many great ideas that I want to try and what's even better is that they aren't all labor intensive projects! I have all the tools and wires, treads, etc... and this book explains how and when to use them. Also all about jewelry findings- so even beginners can learn to make neat things! Not all of the photos appeared on my Kindle, but I plan on purchasing the book to use. Beginning beaders will likely find this book of some use. Some projects may even appeal to more advanced beaders. Take a look, it's worth it!

I've been interested in beading for some time now, but didn't know a thing about it, or how to get started. This book is a newcomer to the craft's dream! It goes through all of the materials, tools and techniques of beading; covering general beading, stringing, bead embroidery and wirework. It then gives over thirty beading projects, each ranked with level of difficulty and estimated time to complete.

This is a great reference book for anyone interested in the craft!

Many thanks to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. All opinions expressed are strictly my own.

I love to make jewelry, so this book interested me. I found a lot of the tips, tricks, and instruction very easy to follow. I consider myself a fairly novice jewelry maker, so I enjoyed reading through the different projects. The pictures help along the way as well if you are unsure how something is supposed to look.

The Big Book of Weekend Beading is a well thought out book. The section at the beginning regarding different beading techniques was well laid out, easy to understand, and would help someone with a advanced beginner's knowledge to learn more. However, for the novice, this is probably not the book to purchase. Some of the projects were interesting, but the ebook images were poor and probably worthless. I wouldn't recommend purchasing the eformat because to do crafts of any sort, images are important. This e book didn't have good images.
Some of the projects were very impractical (who beads a blanket? ), but I am certain that there are a subgroup of beaders who would like these types of projects.

Thanks to #NetGalley for a pre-publication copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

In exchange for a fair and honest review, I was provided a digital copy of this book by Netgallery.

For the beginning beader, this might be an intriguing volume, but I am unlikely to buy a copy because most of the projects were pretty run of the mill or impractical. I would not bead a fringe on a blanket or scarf because that makes cleaning of the item more challenging.

There are clear photos and instructions.

I would have given the book 2 stars, but in fairness I am a more advanced beader and that might be why I found this volume less than stimulating

This is an excellent book with varied projects for the beginner, intermediate and the advanced. Plenty of illustrations. Just about everything that one needs to know about beading can be found in this book.

"I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it." This book is a challenge for the novice, I struggled with a few beginner items. The instructions were well laid out; however, the beginner projects were more advanced than I hoped. I finally gave up this book should be for advanced and above.

Having seen, and bought, numerous books on beading and jewelry, I can't say that most of the ideas here are new or innovative to me. However, I found the section in the front about different beading techniques to be well laid out, easy to understand, and would help someone with a advanced beginner's knowledge to learn more. The projects sound interesting, but without good images I can't be sure and the eformat didn't have good images. Without them, I can only give the book 3 stars. Would another format become available with better images, I would certainly be happy to revise this.

Fun beading book with detailed directions and photos that I could actually understand! And the projects included are perfect if you don't have a lot of time to devote to crafting. This would be a fun book to take with you (along with your beading kit) if you want to relax and make jewelry on a weekend getaway. Very much enjoyed this one.

There is a lot of content and each project is described in a step-by-step fashion. Unfortunately, the formatting doesn’t work well with my kindle. Most of the pictures are blank and the ones that are there, I couldn’t tell which picture went with which step since they weren’t matched one to one, but instead all of the pictures then all of the words. Not a good set-up for someone who learns crafts visually.

On the other hand, it isn’t sold as an ebook, so having it submitted to ebook reviewers was probably an error on the part of the publisher. I’d love to have another go at it if I had the actual book.

Note: while I was given this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

They weren’t kidding when they said big! This book has a lot of project and a lot of content. Each project is described step by step in simple, easy to follow directions. That being said, this is not a book for beginners with no experience. Basic knowledge is necessary so don’t start with this guide, especially if you are using the the kindle version. While there are many pictures that accompany the steps, even on my tablet, they were not big or clear enough. I am sure they are perfect in the print version.

Overall, it’s a great book filled with cute designs..

Found this book a disappointment and had nothing to do with it missing photographs. Was looking forward to reading this book with the hope that I could add it to our library collection (we have a huge jewelry-crafting followers). There are several unique takes on creating beautiful pieces but the materials needed are ones not readily available in the United States. This point is confirmed by the inclusion of only one supplier of materials in the USA. A simple Google search will bring up hundreds. Most crafters usually will not buy beads outside of the USA as the shipping rates can be astronomical.
