Very interesting and very different read. I went back and forth a number of times in what I thought’s was happening. Both female leads drove this book.

Her Pretty Face was just okay. I wouldn't say it was completely terrible just nothing that made the story pop.

What jaw dropping page turner! If you like edge of your seat suspense, this author does not disappoint! I was kept guessing til the very end! This is a must read!!

Robyn Harding does it again! The themes in her books are something I haven’t seen in many others and the way she delves in is so so good

HER PRETTY FACE is the second book by Harding that I have read and I can honestly say that she is a new favorite author of mine. Between the character development and the quick pace of the story, I devoured this taught and twisty domestic thriller. Bring on the next book!

I'm a sucker for a good psychological thriller, so when I saw this on Netgalley and read the description, I had to request it immediately! Thanks so much to the Publisher for approving me, because I really enjoyed it!

I was pulled in by the characters and drawn into the mystery presented, though I would call this novel more of a psychological study than a psychological thriller. I never really felt as though anyone was in danger and there wasn't that pulse-pounding element a lot of thrillers have. Instead, the read was more about learning who these two main female killers were--their backstories and their motivations--to understand how different their seemingly similar psyches were. At first, you don't really know who is the better of the two, and I loved how the story slowly revealed the truth.

I also really loved the way the story was composed -- through two present POVs, Frances (a mother hiding a dark secret) and Daisy (a rebellious teenager), and one past POV, DJ (the brother of a girl who was murdered). This really allowed me to get inside the heads of so many of the characters, and by the end, you sort of realize how so much of the story revolves around the one person who wasn't given a voice. Possibly because her voice would've been completely unreliable anyway...

A great read for fans of the genre! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Frances and her son Marcus are new to the prestigious private school in town and Frances is hoping it is just what Marcus needs.  But soon after his arrival at his new school a disturbing incident with a fellow student leaves both mother and son ostracized.  That is until they meet Kate and her son Charles.

Kate has everything Frances desires and for reasons Frances does not understand Kate befriends her and helps her with the horrible mothers at school.  Best of all Marcus and Charles become best friends.  Just as things seem to be turning around for Frances and Marcus a terrible secret surfaces revealing that one of these women is not who they seem.

Her Pretty Face is a domestic thriller in the vane as Liane Moriarty's Little Big Lies.  It too is told with a dual timeline, one in present time and the other slowly revealing the past secret of one of the women.  Additionally, the story is also told through the eyes of several different characters to give a well rounded view of the story.

All that being said I found the story to be an average thriller.  The story was fairly predicable and there was really no reveal at the end.  I will say that I did enjoy the story itself as it was a dark and twisted one.

For Frances, the most important thing she can do is make sure her son is accepted at school but he’s struggling. She knows it and this latest act may be the one that ends his time at Forrester Academy but luck is on her side when the charismatic Kate Randolph and her son seem to taken them under their wing.

Frances doesn’t understand how someone like Kate would want to spend time with her, Frances who is a stay-at-home mom and could stand to lose some weight. But they get on and with Kate as her friend and Kate’s son, Charlie, helping her Marcus she is sure things are going to turnaround.

Kate doesn’t like the Forrester Academy mothers and thinks they are all stuck up but she likes Frances. Before too long the two are getting to know one another, enjoying dinners with the spouses and children, and have seemed to have formed a natural bond. Marcus is doing so much better now that he’s friends Charlie and he is no longer ostracized at school. There is also Daisy, Kate’s daughter, but she seems to keep to herself. Actually it’s a bit odd how uninterested Kate seems to be about her but Frances doesn’t think much of it at first.

However, little cracks start to appear and a big secret will soon be revealed which will tear the families apart. Can a friendship survive?

I liked how Frances is depicted as a struggling mom who is trying to keep up with other families. She has a good marriage but dealing with her child has left her vulnerable and questioning everything. Kate is interesting and I liked how she became friendly with Frances so it was good to read about a solid friendship of course setting up the reader for some surprises. If you enjoy domestic thrillers this would be a good one to check out.

This book was amazing! There are some graphic parts that will make you want to lock your daughters in their rooms forever. Like seriously cringey, I need a shower I feel so dirty, kind of parts. The chapters are short (which I tend to like), the pace is perfect, and this would make an excellent Netflix/Hulu movie!

I read this in two days and loved it so so much! Some thrillers are a bit too obvious in their build up, but I never felt that way with Her Pretty Face. As you moved through the story, you could tell certain characters were off--but were also left questioning your own judgement throughout. This was definitely a page turner--and it never slowed down, which I appreciated. Robyn Harding tells the story in both a split-narrative, and in both the past and present. If you are not used to that type of novel, it may be a bit confusing to start, but it was easy to get into it and eventually navigate the different characters and perspectives.

Her Pretty Face sounded like it was right up my alley, which is why I initially picked it up. I'm a sucker for a good domestic thriller, and the story is very heavily influenced by a real crime case, which made it all the more interesting. None of the characters are truly likeable, but I did find them all to be well-written.

The scenes with Daisy were the most interesting part, and I felt like that's where the true suspense of the story was. Of all the twists and reveals from the rest of the story, Daisy's storyline surprised me the most.

The only reason I didn't love this book is because there really wasn't much of a plot. Two women become friends and eventually one of them learns the other was in prison for murder. I hoped there would be a lot more suspense to the story, and maybe more drama or conflict. Once the big secret is revealed, there isn't a whole lot done about it. Sure, the town is in an uproar when the news leaks, but there's only one small scene at the end where the two women confront each other again. I was hoping for something more, something darker than both characters essentially keeping quiet. I wouldn't say this is a bad good; I actually think it's done well and it was an interesting story, but it wasn't memorable.

was a gripping thriller that took you to every aspect of trying to figure out what was really going on and what was going to happen next! This was such an amazing book and I can’t wait to see what else is released from this author!

I definitely liked this, it was definitely Harding's familiar writing style and type of story in my opinion. So for those already familiar with her work I think this would be an enjoyable new addition. If this is your first book by Harding, you may see similarities to other thrillers currently on the market. But I feel this is a trend amongst all Thrillers lately, nothing particular towards Harding as an author or writer.

This is one of my favorite thrillers of the year. It was quick and easy to read with characters you could relate to. I read this in under 2 days! I can’t wait for this aithor’s next book!

Domestic thrillers are huge in 2018 but Her Pretty Face goes right to the top of my favorites in this growing sub-genre. Why? Because I didn't know what was going to happen! The twists in this book are very well planned out from the beginning and the end is very satisfying because of it. I am a dedicated guesser-of-all-things when I read thrillers so I love when a book tricks me into being wrong.

I really enjoyed all of the characters, though I would choose Daisy as my favorite if I had to. She's an interestingly written teenager, something sorely lacking in many adult genre novels. The guessing game surrounding each character, the truthfulness of their recollections and dialogue, was really enjoyable as well. Every time I finished one POV, I couldn't wait to hear more from them.

The pace slower than some other thrillers in this group but I think it suited the story really well. This book highlights the creeping twinge in the back of your head, that quiet sensation of not-right-ness, rather than the blaring red sign that says THIS IS WRONG. Even after the first big reveal, which happened sooner in the plot than I expected, there's still a ton of tension to watch the characters grapple with it. The ending was fantastic! I am crossing my fingers that the hints in it were indicative of a sequel story but if not that lingering wonder of where the characters end up is satisfying in itself.

Her Pretty Face is a very nicely written domestic drama. The three story lines add interest. A very thought provoking read that questions can people change and more importantly can past acts ever be forgiven.

This is the first book that I’ve read by Robyn Harding. I enjoyed “Her Pretty Face.” I will not give any spoilers. Thank you NetGalley for the Arc of this book. I hope to read more by this Author in the future. The cover alone is intriguing and I recommend it to others. Plenty of twists and turns.

Very interesting story full of twists. Robyn Harding caught my eye with this story as it focuses on the insecurities you feel as a parent and wanting to help your children fit in at school. Good plot development and detail to the characters. I enjoyed this book to the very last page!
