Josie Moore is in big trouble. After a few too many glasses of wine and tired of her mother’s constant disappointment, Josie tells what she thinks is a harmless lie—that she is sort of in a relationship with her childhood crush, firefighter Lincoln Bradford. The lie comes back to bite her when her mother moves back to town, and now Josie has to make the fantasy a reality.
This was a quick read. It was really cute. I liked both main characters and enjoyed reading their story. I recommend.

Cute contemporary romance with the fake relationship and childhood crush premises. The hero is set against love, and the heroine is sweet and has what it takes to change his mind.

Josie has been in love with Linc for years and he's been acting strange lately. He gives her a lot of mixed signals so she isn't really sure where they stand. When her parents move back to town and tell everyone she's dating Linc, she proposes that they pretend to be working things out and that he can dump her when the time comes. Linc has shut himself off from feeling for so long that when he realizes he wants to be with Josie, it scares him. Will he be able to put those fears aside?

I loved this book so much that I couldn't put it down. It's a quick read so I was able to finish it in one sitting which is good since I would have sacrificed sleep to find out what happened next. I was really glad that we got to see more of Casey and Kent from Wedding Date Rescue. This is a fantastic light-hearted romance that is perfect for anyone looking to escape for  a little while.

Josie Moore has had a crush on Lincoln Bradford for years. They had always been good friends, but nothing more. But, after too much wine and having heard her mom go on and on about how much she was lacking, she finally told her mother a lie. . . that she and Lincoln were dating. Once she convinced Lincoln to play along with the fake relationship, the lie continued to grow until they got fake engaged. Now what? How would they ever be able to break it off? The feelings that both of them had for each other began to grow along with the lie but they were never going to be a real couple. Lincoln was convinced that he was not relationship material. His last girlfriend had convinced him that he wasn't cut out for it and Lincoln believed that he had to let Josie go in order to protect her heart. But, what about his heart?

I absolutely loved this book. The story was clean with no sex or foul language. There was definitely chemistry between Josie and Lincoln and created a believable romance. I will definitely read more books by this author.

I was given an complimentary copy of this book.

Firstly I'd like to thank Netgalley for providing me with an E-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What a sweet, cute, fun read this was! I didn't realise until the novel was finished that this was the second book in this series but luckily having read the first one wasn't a necessity for enjoying this book.

This story was based solely on character development and definitely wasn't plot driven like I normally like, but I found myself needing to read something more relaxed and this certainly ticked that box.

Lincoln and Josie have been friends since they were children and with Lincoln's sister's wedding approaching, their strained relationship is forced to change and grow thanks to a lie Josie told her unkind mother. Lincoln was such a sweet character with all the characteristics of a strong male lead; kind, protective, supportive and respectful. His love for Josie was easy to see early on even if he himself didn't see it until the end of the book.

Josie didn't seem to have as much depth to her as Lincoln did, but I still enjoyed reading the novel from her perspective. She seemed more in touch with her emotions and aware of her feelings. I liked how she managed to think quickly on her feet when she let a little too much slip to Lincoln and her humour was enjoyable.

I really liked how romantic this novel was without all the smut that some romance authors feel the need to fill a book with. One thing I was hoping to read that never happened was some action. I was hoping that maybe there'd be a situation where Lincoln had to save Josie from a fire or car crash or something along those lines since his job would have suited this perfectly. I really think this would have lifted this book from a 4 star read to a 5 star for me, since I'm very partial to a bit of knight in shining armour action!

Overall, a quick, easy, sweet and enjoyable read! 4 stars!

I love fake romance stories. People who don't like each other at first but finally something clicks for them.

I absolutely love entangled publishers authors and their books they bring out. I’ve not read as many by this author but this was definitely one of them I would read again. Such a sweet and wonderful story that really grabs you and your emotions from the start and keeps you engrossed to the very end of this amazing and wonderful story. The author has done such a outstanding job with this book and really deserves the 5 stars I’ve given this book. I look forward to more books by this author in the future and I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to everyone as well.

The Firefighter's Perfect Plan, by Sonya Weiss is a delightful contemporary romance and the second book in the Fire and Sparks series.

After listening to her mother's constant criticisms, Josie Moore told her mother a minor lie about having a boyfriend (specifically firefighter Lincoln Bradford), which lead to major drama when her parents returned to town.

In order to deal with her runaway lie, Josie convinced Lincoln to act as her fake boyfriend, which leads other so-called fake activities. Josie has to balance her longtime crush on her childhood friend with their fake relationship, which is starting to feel very real to her. And Lincoln is also secretly fighting his real feelings intermixed with this fake relationship.

The Firefighter's Perfect Plan is enjoyable and geared towards those who enjoy reading modern romances.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This was a wonderfully hilarious romantic story. I was laughing so much with this story, that I hated to see it end. These characters played so well off of each other and I'm not talking about just Lincoln and Josie. Ms. Weiss did a fantastic job of creating a loving, caring three generational family. It felt like I was there in the middle of the teasing yet lovable family. I can't wait for more of this series.

I did purchase the first story as I hadn't read that one yet. I can't wait. This book leads me to believe that this book will be one of those that I will definitely be reading and re-reading for a long time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The Firefighter’s Perfect Plan is a sweet friends-to-lovers through a deal romance. While I confess I’m not much into the whole friends to lovers plot, the fact that the guy is a sexy firefighter was what tipped me over.

While this is by no means a bad book, the story was simply too full of the “I don’t want to mess up our friendship so I’ll push you away now so I don’t hurt you but in effect, I’m hurting us both by doing this” diatribe. And I just can’t handle that for a whole freaking book.

Josie and Lincoln have been friends forever. Thanks to unemotional parents Josie was pretty much adopted by Lincoln’s family. And even when she was his little sister’s best friend, they always shared a special bond.

Lincoln doesn’t have the best record with relationships, and after his last breakup, he’s decided that love is just not worth the risk. Especially since he’s obviously not good at them. Josie, tired of her mother’s eternal disappointment, blurts that she’s seeing Lincoln. Unfortunately, her mother moves back to town and soon everyone knows about her “supposed” relationship. Forced to save face, she strikes a deal with Lincoln: she’ll help him out with a video to raise money for the Fire Station if he pretends to be her boyfriend and suck at it, so they can break up asap. Their lie starts to snowball and soon every time they schedule a breakup something gets in the way, and they get deeper into trouble.

I really liked both Josie and Lincoln. Both were nice, loving people always willing to help out. Josie was sweet and funny and Lincoln a total knight in shining armor. I loved how they were with each other when they relaxed and just went with their feelings. Unfortunately, the whole “friendship” issue kept getting in the way… Neither was open about what they were really feeling and I just kept wanting to conk them in the head with a blunt object to make them see sense.

I will say that I totally loved Lincoln’s granny, she was the bomb.

“ “Can I get you anything?”

“Yes. You can resolve your commitment issues, marry my grandson, and give me great grandchildren before I kick the oxygen habit and get fit for my halo.” ”

All in all, The Firefighter’s Perfect Plan is a sweet and nice romance, with some funny moments, witty banter and a couple of sexy kisses. Let me warn you now, there’s no steam to it, just some measly tingles (and not even a boner in sight). A pleasant read if you’re in the mood for a nice clean and pleasing read.

I recently read The Firefighter's Perfect Plan for the love story category of the extreme book nerd challenge. This story was funny, sweet, and left me crying tears of joy more than once. Josie was the sweetest character and Lincoln kept making me want to reach out and smack him because of his stubborn ways. If you're looking for a great read that will leave you smiling than this is a great choice!

I received a copy of THE FIREFIGHTER’S PERFECT PLAN on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author.

Five stars and here's why:

Sonya Weiss nailed the fake boyfriend trope. It’s one of my favorites, and the author managed to infuse so much humor with her supporting characters that I found myself laughing aloud on the Metro, the Starbucks line, and in the elevator at work. I simply couldn’t put this book down. Entangled Publishing picks some awesome reads and Ms. Weiss doesn’t disappoint! Simply devoured this book in one day. If you love sexy guys, savvy girls, and a sweet romance, then this book is for you! Highly recommend!

This is my first time in reading this author with the storyline capturing my attention. Firefighters get my attention with this one centering around Lincoln and Josie. Josie now is the one who put herself in a pickle but how she thinks to get straightened out is another matter. Lincoln thinks he is safe but this writer will show us where that kind of thinking leads. I like how this gets tangled with you getting pulled in too with whatever happens you want the best for all.

Received in exchange for a honest review.

Lincoln killed me. He was so kind, sweet, generous, honest and an all around great guy. He did everything to help others but was afraid to help himself. No scratch that he was afraid to let himself feel again because he didn’t want to hurt anyone or fail them. His last girlfriend did a real number on him. You truly want to slap that girl upside the head.

Josie is the family friend who was always more to lincoln even when he didn’t know it himself. He was there to help her pick up the pieces. He supported her and believed in her. So now she has backed herself in a corner and only Lincoln can help her.

Josie is a fun spirited woman. She always smiles and tries to not let these get her down. I love how she is around Lincoln. She razzes him and doesn’t take anything from him as well. She is also kind hearted and generous like him. They are two peas in a pod that way.

So when Lincoln agrees to help her you know sparks are going to fly. We get some great banter, awesome chemistry and swoony moments. They are truly caught up in the relationship that isn’t that they don’t realize they are in love with one another. Well Lincoln doesn’t at least. Each scene is sweet and fun. I love how they balance each other. what Lincoln is afraid of pushes him to be a doof but how he fixes it is swoon city. He is the perfect guy for Josie.

Each side character is a hoot as well. Grandma Jean will having you rolling in laughter. Lincoln’s brother’s crack me up. Rafferty when he falls in love it will be a sight to see.

A lighthearted, sweet, romantic and fun story of two friends who are more and have a comical story to how they end up together.

The Firefighter's Perfect Plan

This book is a “sweet and clean” book – there is no cursing and no sex. If those things bother you, there is nothing to worry about here.

I really enjoyed The Firefighter's Perfect Plan from start to finish. Josie was a hot mess, but in a really endearing way because she was so relatable in a way I wasn't expecting. She was a great mix of vulnerable and strong, and I admired the way that she constantly bounced back from the constant hurts that were heaped on her by her parents and by an incredibly unaware Lincoln. I found myself rooting hard for her from the start and that never wavered as the book went on. I loved the fact that, although I WANTED for Josie and Lincoln to have their happily ever after, Josie would have been fine without Lincoln if it hadn't worked out because she was a strong woman. Lincoln was also a great character because his emotions were so believable and he was just so stupidly charming and likable. Although he had moments where I wanted Josie to tell him to shove off, his moments of putzdome came from a place of inner turmoil, so they were forgivable. And the times when he was absolutely sweet and good to Josie far outweighed those moments that made me scowl at him, and I just wanted him to get his “stuff” together and be brave. When he did? That was perfection. I loved that ending!

One of the best parts of this book was the humor. Just to vaguely name a few funny points were: both Josie and Lincoln's inner (snarky) voices, the ongoing negotiations for the fake relationship were hilarious, the wayward cow (I laughed out loud and had to read that passage to the people in the room), and Lincoln's entire family – Rafferty specifically.

If you enjoy a sweet romance that will make you laugh, make you smile, and that ends on a happily ever after, you should read this book.

I loved the little moments of foreshadowing and cannot wait to read about the other Bradford brothers meeting their matches.

I requested and was very generously granted a copy of this book via NetGalley and the publisher. I wrote this honest review for no reason other than because I enjoyed the book.

What starts out as a little lie to her mother completely blows up in Josie's face when her mother shares her news with the biggest gossip in town. So instead of being able to clean up her mess without Lincoln ever knowing that she told her family they were dating, she needs him to pretend they're together at least until they can plan a big public breakup.

There were so many shenanigans in this book that made me laugh. My heart broke for Lincoln after how badly he was burned in the past but there were more than a few times that I wanted to shake him for being so committed to his plan of never falling in love again. Over and over I just wanted to hug Josie for how horrible her family is but she powered through every single time. I loved all of the interactions between Josie and Lincoln and was pulling for them from the very beginning.

I'm really loving the Fire and Sparks series and I can't wait to see what comes next!!

It all starts with an innocent little lie designed to get Josie’s mother off her back. When her mother abruptly decides to move back to town and her little white lie becomes town gossip, Josie convinces Lincoln, her best friend’s brother and resident firefighter hottie, to play along and act as her fake boyfriend until they can stage a breakup. She’s always had an enormous crush on Linc but has never acted on the feelings. But when her little lie begins to grow and all their opportunities to break up seem to be thwarted, their real feelings can no longer be denied, and their perfect plan goes out the window.

After Linc’s breakup with his ex, he just couldn’t stomach going through the pain of loving someone and not being enough again. So, to shelter his heart, he comes up with the perfect plan to keep his heart safe – never fall in love. Especially not with his sister’s best friend who has always been a special part of his life. But when their fake relationship turns into a fake engagement and real emotions get thrown into the mix, both Linc and Josie learn that sometimes the best parts of life happen beyond your reckless point.

I really enjoyed Linc and Josie’s friendship and banter. The back and forth and the way in which the lovers get to explore aspects of the relationship in a way they normally wouldn’t is part of what makes pretend relationships one of my favorite romance tropes. Despite there not being any sexual encounters in the novel, I think the author did an amazing job of keeping you excited by the budding romance and invested in seeing how it turns out.

Probably one of my favorite parts of the novel was the important role which family played in the story. Josie is already an honorary member of the family, even before dating Linc, and it’s adorable to see how enthusiastic his mother and grandmother are about the relationship. I adored Grandma Jean and her sassy words of wisdom. The whole family dynamic really gives this story some dimension and makes me eager to read more books in this series.

If you love sassy, matchmaking relatives, fake relationship and best friend’s brother tropes and a sweet, family-oriented hero, THE FIREFIGHTER’S PERFECT PLAN needs to be added to your TBR list.
