Lauren Weisberger wrote the perfect follow up to The Devil Wears Prada with this funny, witty, engaging story revolving around Emily, Miranda's first assistant. While it's the third book in the DWP series, it reads as a complete standalone. This is a quick and easy read that will have you laughing out loud throughout. The story is told from multiple points of view so you get it all with this story. When Life Gives You Lulemons was so much fun to read!

This was a seriously funny, and slightly irreverent look motherhood, the suburbs, and how life changes with age. Throw in a juicy scandal and it’s all good fun! Full of slapstick moments with a dash of serious topics, it has the perfect balance for a great beach read.

Emily is back and funnier than ever - I love her and her seriously snarky, blunt personality. And who can’t love a cameo from The Devil, Miranda Priestly, herself?

This is a story of female friendship and how women supporting one another can get you through anything. And now I’m off to go watch The a Devil Wears Prada because it’s been too long and I don’t want to say goodbye just yet!

That’s all. 😉

Thank you so much to Elizabeth at Simon & Schuster for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I haven't read The Devil Wears Prada in years, so I wasn't sure how much I'd love When Life Gives You Lululemons, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved the book. The novel reminded me of how much better Emily is than Andi. There are two other main charters and although I liked Karolina and Miriam, I felt the most invested in Emily's trials and tribulations in CT. I think the book works best if you have read The Devil Wears Prada because you get to see how much Emily has evolved as a character.

I loved this book. It was timely, relevant, and very funny. It also had some tender and heart wrenching moments, just like real life.

Lauren Weisberger's books tend to be either hit or miss for me, and unfortunately this one was a miss.
I didn't really like any of the characters or find them particularly interesting. And the storyline couldn't keep my attention.

I love Lauren Weisberger's books and this was no exception. A great addition to her books and a must read for her fans.

Really enjoyed this novel. I loved the characters and the plot, as per usual Weisberger delivered a great womens fiction novel

The book did not resonate with me. I loved the ADevil Wears Prada but did not feel connected to the characters. I would read another book by this author though.

I was provided a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.

I had requested this book a couple years ago - even though I hadn't read the first two books in the series, I have seen the Devil Wears Prada movie so I knew the players. I was worried when I first started reading that it was going to be an annoying story about white rich people woes, but I ended up liking this book a lot more than I expected to. The plot lines ended up drawing me in, especially Karolina's which was particularly rage-inducing. There were a lot of terrible people in the book, who were doing awful things to the people around them, which wasn't always fun to read. And ended up being somewhat repetitive in terms of everyone being jerks to each other. I didn't love too that Emily did a complete turn around from not wanting kids to being ecstatic that she's pregnant. It's ok for people to just not want to have kids, and I thought it would've been ok (and more in line with her character) for Emily to not want kids. Other than that - all the drama would likely be exciting for most readers but it isn't my favorite type of story. Overall it was a good book but I didn't love it.

This book is the third installment of the Devil Wear Prada series. It follows the character Emily and her life post magazine - all though some of the old characters make fun cameos. Emily some how finds herself with an old friend in the suburbs of Connecticut and becomes immersed in a world of Lululemon clad, Tito's drinking ladies. She meets up with former super model Karolina and their mutual friend Miriam to try to figure out why exactly Karolina, who doesn't drink, got pulled over for a DUI. The story is hilarious and has a few little life lessons sprinkled in. It was such a fun vacation read, and even if you didn't read the first two in the series, you won't be lost.

When Life Gives You Lululemons isn’t really a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, it’s more of a spin-off. I didn’t even realize it was written by the same author until about halfway through the audiobook! I’ve never read The Devil Wears Prada and it didn’t affect my enjoyment or understanding of this book at all.

Emily is an image consultant who’s having trouble adapting to the modern age of social media and her business is suffering as a result. When her friend Karolina, a former supermodel, is arrested for a crime that she may or may not have committed, Emily takes the case.

While When Life Gives You Lululemons supposed to be chick-lit, I thought it was more than that. Karolina’s predicament had my stomach in knots. And I was also really angry at her ex-husband. There were a lot of funny parts too, it was a good balance.

Fans of The Devil Wears Prada will be glad to know that Miranda Priestly does make an appearance. However, I think anyone looking for a lighter read will appreciate this book.

As one who has watched The Devil Wears Prada countless times with my daughter, I did not think a worthy sequel was possible but it is. No one writes pop culture angst better than Lauren Weisberger while bringing a sincere humanity to her characters that one can relate to regardless of where they live. Social politics is everywhere. I wish this would be turned into a film as well but to satisfy your craving for more of what Lauren writes, add Where the Grass is Green and the Girls are Pretty to your list!

This book was a well-written and fun read! It was so much fun to catch up with Emily, Andie, and the gang, and meet new characters, too!

Lauren Weisberger is back and so is Emily Charlton, her first assistant to Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada. In TDWP, Emily was fierce, teaching Andi the ropes and letting her know her place. Even though she was awful to Andi, I ended up liking Emily by the end and rooting for her, that's why I was so excited to read WLGYL with Emily as the main character. This novel fell flat for me, unfortunately. The characters were not likeable and there wasn't enough action in Greenwich for me to care. I much preferred the first Emily.

I loved THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA so much but I couldn’t get into this one. Maybe the concept of the brand name thing feels too overdone or too eye rolling. Wanted to like it.

I would like to thank NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book even though I did not finish this book.

It was so fun to revisit Emily's life a few years later when she is married with children. This book was a fitting send off to Emily from the Devil Wears Prada. It was a great read and I finished it very quickly. I highly recommend it and look forward to the next book by this author.

Really quite enjoyable and fun. Perfect fluffy summer novel (and I liked it way better than The Devil Wears Prada).

While the "chick lit" genre is not usually my go-to I did find myself loving The Devil Wears Prada and was very excited to have a chance to spend some time reading another story from one of my favorite side characters in recent memory. Unfortunately, this book did not resonate or connect with me the way it's predecessor did. Still though it is a well-written book and if you are a genre fan and you are presented with this book I would take a chance on it and give it a try.
