Rounding up from 3.5 stars.

I never knew DEVIL WEARS PRADA has a sequel, let alone a third installment. That said, you don't need to have read the first (or seen the movie) to read this. There are a few nods to the OG novel, but not to the extent that you wouldn't be able to figure out what's going on.

This book focuses on Emily, who has now moved on from working at "Runway" and rescues celebrities from bad PR moments. She ends up visiting her friend in the suburbs of Connecticut, along with their third friend who is facing some bad press (a former model turned senator's wife). I always liked Emily's character in the first novel, so it was fun to check in on her all these years later. This is a solid, entertaining chick lit novel.

It also felt a lot like The Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce, and I kept picturing Beau Garrett as Karoline.

But, there were a few things that bugged me. First, there's so much name dropping/pop culture referencing happening in this book. Bieber, Karlie Kloss, Ben and Jen, etc. etc. One of the things I loved about DWP is that it's timeless. This book likely won't be, because it has way too many references to things that no one will remember 5 years from now, much less 10 or 15. Will the book still make sense? Sure. But will it be as effective? Eh.

Also, this book felt rushed to me. There were references to things that literally just happened within the last year, so it makes me wonder if she just left things like "TK" and then added them right before sending it to the publisher. To that point, the book starts with everything happening in succession, but then during the last quarter or so of the book, there are epic time jumps without any indication. It felt disjointed, and the chapters didn't really tie together. It felt more like a bunch of stand-alone "one shots" instead.

The multiple POV may have contributed to that a bit, and generally I don't like multiple POVs, but it that in general didn't bother me here (since it's all in third person, and the three characters were very different so it was easy to follow along).

I also hated that one particular character didn't get what was going to him or her (#nospoilers). I kept waiting for something epic to happen and it never did.

Overall, a fun summer read.

Thanks to Netgalley for the free ARC.

As a longtime Weisberger fan, I was thrilled to receive an ARC of this much-anticipated novel, which catches us up on what Miranda Priestly’s (“The Devil Wears Prada”) first assistant, Emily, has been up to. If you read Prada, you knew Emily as the bitchy, Size 0, social climber that she was. The new Emily is a bit softer in this novel, as a celebrity fixer who’s getting past her prime because of her lack of social media skills. And now she’s size 4.

You’re also introduced to Emily’s friend Miriam, a former lawyer turned suburban-stay-at-home-mom and Miriam’s friend, Karolina, a former supermodel turned senator’s wife and doting stepmother who’s caught in a vicious press scandal.

I wanted to love this book. Truly. There were some parts I enjoyed and thankfully it picked up at about the 70% mark (for you e-readers). It just didn’t feel like Weisberger’s usual wit and cutting jabs (even from Emily). I’m glad I didn’t go in expecting a 3rd portion of the Prada series, but we did get a dash of Miranda—which again felt forced.

I’d recommend for a light beach read but I’d put it on my library waiting list.

Really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read on lazy weekend. The three main characters at first didn't seem to have a lot in common and before long it was obvious how similar they were. I enjoyed the "twists" in the book also.

I enjoyed this book so much that I read it in one day. I think it is a great escape and a fun and easy read. I have always loved Emily, and I think she just shines in this book.

I think all of Lauren’s Weisberger’s books are a great escape for a little while, and make me feel like I am hanging out with a bunch of my friends with some great stories.

I would like to see Karolyn’s spin off into her own book too!

If you are looking for a great summer pool or beach read, this is perfect!

This is my favorite in the series so far. (I'm not sure if there will be a fourth installment.) I loved the idea that Emily is now basically Olivia Pope and that she's working to take down this hideous person (that's Graham, if the synopsis doesn't make it clear).

My one problem (minor spoiler): For the entire series up to and including most of this book, Emily has been super clear about not wanting or even particularly liking kids. And then she gets pregnant accidentally and is soon so happy and excited about it. I think this is a little insulting, the presumption that every woman wants kids, even if they say they don't. (And I get that this is something that probably wouldn't even bother a lot of people, so it definitely could just be a me thing.)

Even so, basically everything about this book is perfect for summer. It's completely fun and is perfect beach-or-poolside reading material. It's sort of a First Wives Club for the modern age, and I think that's something most of us could get behind. (NOTE: only one character is divorce-bound, so the analogy is more to do with women banding together and kicking ass.)

I think sometimes when you have a book that’s a huge success, like Devil Wears Prada, it can be hard to follow it up,but Laura Weisberger does so brilliantly with Life Gives You LuLuLemons, the third book in the Devil series. ( I’m deliberately not mentioned the second book which, I’m just writing off as an anomaly)
This book focuses on Emily, Miranda Priestly’s former first assistant, who now lives in L.A and is just as sassy and snarky as ever.
LuluLemons is the perfect beach read, a break from reality, a peak into the lives of the rich and Uber famous.
If you were disappointed by Revenge, I urge you to check out Life With LuLuLemons..Laura Weisberger is back, and at the top of her game once again!

Thank you Netgalley and Simon & Schuster for an ARC of this book.. all opinions are my own

This is the 3rd book in the Devil Wears Prada series. I enjoyed this fun read. This book focuses on Emily & her circle of friends. It was funny at times. It was a fun read.

Thanks to Netgalley & Lauren Weisberger for the advanced copy.

I received an advance copy of this book from Net Galley. I was so excited to get this book, as I remember loving the Devil Wears Prada book and movie. This book focuses on Emily, who was the first assistant in that book, along with two of her friends. This was a great read for me about female friendships, and while there are moments that feature Miranda and Emily's Runway life, this is a standalone story in most ways. The characters are likeable, which I was worried they wouldn't be (I didn't think Emily was always likeable in the first book).

Very fast enjoyable read. Highly recommend.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Simon and Schuster, and Lauren Weisberger for the opportunity to read and review her latest book - loved it!

This is apparently my week for sequels and again this book did not disappoint and was maybe a better book than the first (is that sacrilegious to say about The Devil Wears Prada?). This book is probably a tad more relatable I thought, which made it even more fun.

This book centers around Emily - the past assistant to Miranda Priestly - who is now an image consultant in Hollywood. When a couple clients ditch her, she heads to NYC for a break while her husband is out of town. Her friend Miranda, a high-powered attorney in NYC who gave up her job to move to Greenwich, CT, and be a stay-at-home mom, convinces her to come for a visit. Meanwhile, another friend of Miranda, Karolina, is married to a senator who has presidential aspirations and is stepmom to Harry. When Karolina is arrested for a DUI with Harry and his friends in the car, she flees to her home in Greenwich. Then all the fun begins as these three women navigate their lives in the suburbs, where everyone is wearing the latest Lululemons and has perfect lives with a little help from the plastic surgeons.

These are great friends - the kind that is not afraid to tell you the truth, who will hold your hand and pass you the wine to support you, and just help each other out. What a fun read - absolutely loved it!

This book was a lot of fun and a great quick read. It was great getting to see things from Emily's perspective, who was such a great character in "The Devil Wears Prada." This books was very funny and very enjoyable.

A sassy and blunt image consultant, Emily Charlton helps an ex-model's image after a suspicious DUI charge in the world of well to do suburban living. Language was a bit crude to me at times, but is a hallmark of Weisberger writing.

Chick lit book at it's very best! This book is full of fun characters and a storyline that keeps you reading. Love the quick witty friendship that forms between the three main characters and the personalities that shine through each one. It moves quickly and the plot makes it hard to put down. PERFECT summer beach read. Loved this one!

Good book. Love the title. It’s been a while since I’ve read The Devil Wears Prada so I don’t remember the Emily character. All the characters in this book are likable. Makes me want to go read other books by this author.

When Life Gives You Lululemons is a book in The Devil Wears Prada Series. This book is enjoyable as a stand alone book for anyone wondering if they have to read the first two books before reading this one. When Life Gives You Lululemons follows the story of three different women- Emily, Miriam, and Karolina. Emily is dealing with losing some of her biggest clients to a younger image consultant. Miriam is adjusting to life as a stay at home mom in a luxurious suburb after working as a high power attorney. Karolina is facing a drunk driving scandal that puts her family life in jeopardy.

This book had a good amount of heart mixed with some lighthearted moments that kept the story entertaining and engaging during the characters' journeys to rediscover themselves throughout the story. This would be a good book for anyone who enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada, but also a wide variety of readers because the characters were so diverse that most people will find familiarity reflected in one of the diverse main characters. This book would be a great addition to your summer reading list!

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review of the book.

I have read the first two books in this series a very long time ago. I have also seen the movie. I can't remember my feelings about the books but I enjoyed the movie. When I saw that this was the third book in the series, I just had to get back into that world.

I have to admit that I had a hard time with this book. Emily as a feature character, annoyed me to no end. She was a whiny bitch who had no regard for anyone until the end of the book. The other two women, Karolina and Miriam were almost as obnoxious to me. The main story line of Karolina's major issue was decent but I don't know if it was worth reading 352 pages of it. God, that sounds so harsh but I honestly believe there are many books that are currently out there right now or will soon be released that will be a much better read.

I am not knocking this book entirely, I enjoyed some parts for what they were worth, just not the book as a whole. I wouldn't have made this the 3rd book in the Devil Wears Prada series. It is clearly a spin-off.

Such a fun book! This book follows the lives of three friends - Karolina, a former model and wife of a U.S. Senator who has presidential aspirations, Miriam, a Harvard Law School graduate who recently gave up her career to be a stay-at-home mom in Greenwich, and Emily, an image consultant (who was the assistant to Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada). In this book, Weisberger explores the lives of the New York suburb stay-at-home moms and what they do for entertainment, exercise, and beauty. We also get to see Emily's life as an image consultant to A-listers. This book should definitely be added to your beach/pool reads this summer!

This book grabbed (and held) my attention immediately. The characters are familiar, and even Miranda Priestly makes an appearance! The story alternates between each of the three main characters. While I normally need to pause to think where I'm at with each introduction of a new character perspective, this book doesn't need that. Even if you're not familiar with these characters, this book reads well as a standalone. All I can say about the ending(s) - JUST DESSERTS. Highly recommend.

The perfect beach read! Tuck this one into your beach bag!

When Life Gives You Lululemons centers around Karolina, the former supermodel turned senator’s wife, who’s accused of a DUI and lands in a PR nightmare. She takes solace in Greenwich, Connecticut, with her friend Miram, a former high-powered lawyer turned stay-at-home mom, who also happens to be friends with Emily. Since her years with Miranda at Runway, Emily’s become a “fixer” to the stars, making their indiscretions disappear from the media. But, with the advent of social media, Emily’s having a hard time keeping her business afloat.

The three woman become close friends, as Weisburger gives us a terrific send-up of mommy culture in the 1%. The novel focuses on how these women reconcile modern motherhood with their career aspirations and marriage as well as the deepening friendship between the three leads. I liked all three characters but I’d love to see a sequel to find out more about Karolina especially as she was my favorite character by far.

Like everyone else, I loved The Devil Wears Prada and was excited to catch up with Emily. In TDWP, she was the senior assistant to Miranda Priestly, memorably played by Emily Blunt in the film. I’ve heard that Emily was less likable in the sequel (Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns) but I missed that. Emily has a few unlikeable moments (such as when she gives a 5 year old a diet soda and lectures her on being slim) but overall, it’s a fun, frothy romp.

This novel is the perfect beach read, meant to be enjoyed with your toes in the sand and a frothy beverage in your hand. It’s a lot of fun with several laugh out loud moments. I really enjoyed it and think you will too!

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book is by far my favorite of The Devil Wears Prada series. I did not like Emily in the first two books--I thought she was a B when she screwed Andy over in RWP. I liked this side of her, though. I also liked the two new characters. The way the three ladies' lives intertwined felt natural, like they really had been friends before the book began.

The look inside suburban Connecticut is mind-boggling---I can only hope some of that was poetic license and that that stuff doesn't really happen. It made for a highly enjoyable beach book though! This is a MUST read for the summer!!

This book has a different feel than the first two in the series but it didn’t stop me from loving it any less. I had a hard time putting the book down. There were plenty of twists in the story to keep me guessing. I loved the unexpected ending! I highly recommend this book!
