Emily is back again and she is better than ever! I love the Devil Wears Prada books, and this book is a great continuation of that series. This is a quick, fun beach read, with just enough intrigue and just enough characters you will love.... and love to hate. If you are a fan of Emily, and who isn't??, you need to pick up this book this summer!

I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Light, snarky, funny and well written take on suburban wealth--sort of horrifying but also guilty pleasure of such a window into the world of pampered wealthy underutilized smart women

Fun and funny send-up of Greenwich, CT will be a big seller in the Hamptons this summer! Lively, relatable characters and contemporary storylines are fresh and never get bogged down. Lots of insight into how the "other half" lives without being too impressed. Will definitely recommend.

I must start this review out by stating I love everything about The Devil Wears Prada. I love the book. I love the movie. I bought the sequel the second I could pre-order it. So when I received an email from Simon and Schuster indicating that I received an advanced copy of When Life Gives You Lululemons, I danced around as best I could at 7 months pregnant.

This time around, we are diving into the world of Emily Charlton. Back then, she was the sassy first assistant to Miranda Priestly. Now she works in Los Angeles as an image consultant, but is starting to lose clients to a younger competitor. Her friend, Miriam, used to be a lawyer in Manhattan but is now a stay-at-home mom in Connecticut trying to find her way in the SAHM world. And then there is Karolina. Karolina is a friend of Miriam's who used to be a supermodel and is now married to a Senator that is dreaming of being President. Scandal erupts when Karolina is arrested for drunk driving with children in her car, and watches her life play out in the court of public opinion. Enter Emily and her image consultant background!

There is so much more to this book than my paltry little summary above can give you. Each girl has their own story to tell - not only with the relationships between each other, but also the relationships with their spouses, jobs, neighbors, etc. And when they get together the story is even better. There are twists and turns, hilarious parties, and even a brief cameo of Miranda (because what type of book would TDWP be without her?!)

I highly highly highly recommend this one to all Devil Wears Prada fans. I rate this one up there with the original. Can there be more sequels? This is a world I love returning to again and again!

Side note: Please don't let the length of time it took me to read this book deter you. I read this while having a difficult pregnancy. I was able to finish it after my baby was born while doing late night feedings! If I could, this would have been read all in one day.

Back after a handful of years, this story follows Emily Charlton on her post-Runway life. No longer a slave to Miranda Priestly, Emily has created her own perfect lifestyle, but cracks are starting to appear in the foundation of her life. Clients start dropping her and Emily wonders what she will do; she even considers selling her soul...again. This fun read follows Emily and her friends through a number of challenges. This was an enjoyable read that anyone who enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada will want to be sure to pick up!

Thank you to Simon & Schuster and Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved, loved the Devil Wears Prada. I liked the followup. I enjoyed this one. Emily was my favorite character in Devil Wears Prada even though she is insufferable. She is snarky, quick witted, and blunt. In this installment, Emily is called in to do damage control for Karolina-- a Senator's wife arrested for a DUI she didn't actually commit. Along for this ride is a mutual friend of both ladies, Miriam.

This book is not high literature, but is fun, laugh out loud funny, and entertaining. I am happy to recommend this to anyone who was curious about Emily after her Miranda Priestley days!

I enjoyed this story until I felt Emily was no longer true to character. While she was still biting and sarcastic her discovery toward the end of the novel that she was pregnant was a bit unbelievable and seemed impossible for her not to have recognized earlier. I felt like it was a dumbing-down of her that was hard to reconcile with the Emily I “know.” This detail and the fact that she seemed like a strong women who was fulfilled without children but then realized once she was pregnant that she really wanted children all along kind of ruined the book for me.

This is my first book by Lauren Weisberger.. These housewives are over the top!! But it was a fun read and let's you see how the "other" side lives! LOL I really loved Emily's character. She was witty and had some great off the top statements to make. She didn't care who heard it - she just told it like it was!! I received this ARC from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.

4.5/5 stars! I was ecstatic to receive an advanced digital copy of this book- serious happy dance! So thank you to Netgalley and Simon & Schuster.

I’ve been reading a lot of mysteries lately so this was a refreshing little vacation. I didn’t read The Devil Wears Prada but I watched and loved the movie. This book was a spin-off and reintroduced the characters Emily and briefly Miranda. The book is split between the lives of three characters: Emily, Miriam, and Karolina. Emily is snarky and hilarious- I’m talking laugh out loud. Miriam is the one I most related too- mother in the suburbs trying to fit in with other moms and wondering what normal really is. Karolina is the ex-model whose life is turned upside down. All three women kind of lose themselves and find themselves again with the help of one another.

Great book. Definitely recommend it! I hope Lauren Weisberger does another one with these characters, especially Emily. I’d love to read what happens next with her and if she will eventually move to the ‘burbs despite being completely adamant that she would never ever move out of the city.

This was definitely a more modern, chic version of Devil Wears Prada and felt really relevant, fun, and witty. I loved seeing more of Emily and other characters. It was very well written, but what Lauren Weisberger book isn't? I highly recommend this as an amazing read and just in time for the summer!

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

I very much enjoyed this novel. It’s light and fluffy and the perfect beach book. Although not a super serious book, it does touch on important themes and has an underlying theme of female empowerment. I really liked everything about this book- especially the celeb snark and the friendship between the 3 main characters.

I am voluntarily submitting my honest review after receiving an ARC of this ebook via NetGalley,

I really enjoyed this lighthearted, funny, engaging read from Lauren Weisberger. While some of the people in this novel originally appear in her blockbuster hit The Devil Wears Prada, this novel functions well as a standalone book (although I admit that I did enjoy this book all the more being familiar with the background story of these characters). Emily, now ironically more Miranda-like, particularly in contrast to her friends, has moved to Hollywood and become an image consultant to the stars. Unfortunately, she has hit a rough patch and her career is flagging, so when an opportunity to help a model and friend through a crisis arises while she is visiting another mutual friend in Greenwich, CT, she leaps at the opportunity. This novel explores the bonds of friendship, self-exploration and claiming the life you want v. the life you somehow find yourself ending up with, but most of all, this novel is just a good, fun read. Fans of Weisberger's signature snappy, snarky dialogue and sharp, witty, biting humor will love this novel. This is Chick Lit at is best--guaranteed to make you laugh out loud.

Emily Charlton was always one of my favorite characters in Lauren Weisberger's megahit The Devil Wears Prada. I also loved Emily Blunt's portrayal of her in the movie: the sass, the snark, the eye rolls, etc. However, in When Life Gives You Lululemons, Weisberger's latest Prada novel, Emily is written so one-note and shallow that she becomes practically a different character, at least in my eyes.

Lululemons takes readers into the very uppity lives of its three main characters living in Greenwich, Connecticut. Emily, as we know, is Miranda Priestly's ex-assistant, who has reinvented herself as an image consultant to the stars. Karolina Hartwell needs Emily desperately, as she is a supermodel married to a senator and currently going through the aftermath of a DUI arrest. Miriam is friends with both of them, and up until recently had a very successful law career, but moved to Connecticut to stay at home with her children.

Unfortunately, I found myself not particularly liking any of the characters this time. From Karolina and her arrest to Miriam and her husband, each successive plot event became more and more unbelievable. I do realize that Weisberger's books are meant to be escapist, but they do need to have some semblance of reality. I did enjoy the appearances by the fabulous Miranda, but they were too few and far between.

MY RATING - 2

When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger is a follow up to Weisberger's hit The Devil Wears Prada. This is a fun read about life in the ritzy town of Greenwich, CT. Readers will enjoy catching up on Emily's life and will even get to hear from Miranda again. This is definitely a book that will leave you entertained and smiling. Read and enjoy!

This was a cute story. I’m sure most of us don’t know anyone like the 3 of these women. At least not in my home town. The women had one friend in common and made a friend of the other 2 They were there for each other in their own way.

I received this book through NetGalley in return for an honest review. Thanks, Net Galley!

When Life Gives You Lululemons was a fun, snarky take on life in Greenwich, Connecticut. Think Devil Wears Prada melded with the Real Housewives series. The characters wouldn’t be my friends, but they sure are fun to read about. Emily Charlton (from the Devil Wears Prada), an image consultant worried about her relevance, has arrived in Greenwich to help Karolina Hartwell, the beleaguered wife of a US Senator (think Melania Trump IMHO). The third main character, Miriam, is a high powered lawyer who has moved to the suburbs to try stay at home mothering. Her attempts to break into rich mommy suburbia are entertaining and even enlightening. The three friends take Greenwich by storm as they try to sort out their lives and loves and help each other out.

This is an easy read - great beach book! (less)

For fans of The Devil Wears Prada and Revenge Wears Prada comes a third book in the world of Miranda Priestly, When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger. This snarky and somewhat glamorous story follows Emily, the bitchy ex-assistant to Miranda turned celebrity image consultant, as she figures out her life, and the lives of the celebrities she's working for, including the friend of a friend, who happened to get pulled over for drunk driving, even though she swears she didn't drink enough to even be a little bit tipsy.

Karolina was one of the world's most famous supermodels, then she married a senator, and moved to Greenwich, Connecticut. Being in the spotlight comes easy to her, except when she gets caught doing something really bad-driving while intoxicated with her stepson and his friends in the car. Of course, Karolina claims she wasn't drunk, but who is going to believe her? Especially when her husband does on television to claim his wife is an alcoholic and she needs to seek treatment.

Then there's Miriam. The mutual friend that brings Karolina and Emily together. The three must figure out the strange world that is the suburbs, but also try and get Karolina her life back, and possibly ruin her shady husband's.

This book was really fun to read. I missed the world of The Devil Wears Prada, it's been years since I've read anything by Lauren, and I forgot how clever her writing is, and. how her characters are so unique, as well has having their own style and wit. I definitely felt like I was in the midst of some Real Housewives drama while reading this story, and I couldn't get enough. I definitely recommend this to anyone that loves juicy gossip and scandal! I give this book 5 out of 5 stars, a surefire way to kick off a great summer.

I would love to take this book to the pool and reread it with a cocktail in hand. The story moves along quickly and the characters are just flawed enough to be believable. A great mix of humor and emotion, it's clear that Lauren Weisberger knows her audience and knows exactly how to play to them. Doesn't quite rise to the level of "literary fiction" but as genre fiction - it's a total winner. If you've enjoyed any of her books in the past - would highly recommend picking up a copy.

This book is full of humor and wit things this author excels at I really enjoyed the characters they were my favorite part of the book. They seemed to almost leap off the page. I did thing it was about lengthy because I felt like I got bored at parts mostly around the middle where it can be easy in any book to get burn out. But for the most part still a fun read I think would be perfect for summer time reading!

I had some pacing issues at first with this book so at first I wasn't quite sure how to review this. However I decided to pick it up again and ended up enjoying Emily's adventures. It was nice being back in the Devil Wears Prada world. I think "chick lit" might not really be my favorite genre anymore, but overall I'd recommend this book if you're a Weisberger fan!
