This is no Devil Wears Prada. Hopes were high, but I barely made it through two chapters before giving up.
Traveling With T’s Thoughts:
Like many folks, I quite enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada (the book) and was ecstatic that a movie was being made because Anne Hathaway is adorable. But I must confess that Emily Blunt almost stole the movie away- with her one liners, her facial expressions and just well…. her!!!!
So I was beyond excited to hear about When Life Gives You Lululemons!
What I Liked:
The cover. Eye catching!!!!!
The characters- I loved Emily, but Karolina and Miriam were also great ones!
The storyline- kept me turning pages!
Bottom line: Perfect for a day at beach or pool reading- When Life Gives You Lululemons will keep you laughing and flipping pages!
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. This was an easy, fun read that caught readers up on where their favorite The Devil Wears Prada characters wound up.
I loved this book! The story and characters are amazing and interesting. It is easy to read and entertaining with lots going on.
I was in the mood for something light and fluffy and this book definitely hit the spot. It alternates between 3 narrators - Emily, a PR person/fixer to the stars; Karolina, a senator's wife who is unfairly thrust into scandal; and Miriam, new to both living in Greenwich, CT and being a stay at home, a mutual friend who introduces the two. Because Emily was a character in "The Devil Wears Prada," this book is billed as a sequel to that one but you definitely don't have to have read it first. Much of the book is over the top, silly, unbelievable, and a little vapid, yet for sheer reading pleasure this book definitely delivered nonetheless. 3.5 stars.
Other than watching the The Devil Wears Prada (TDWP) movie, I have not read the other books in this series. And I'm happy to say that wasn't an issue! Some things tie back into TDWP, but you definitely won't be lost if you've seen the movie.
The story revolves around three pretty strong women - Emily (From TDWP), Miriam, and Karolina. The book starts as three storylines and they quickly come together. I enjoyed each of their stories/perspectives, which sometimes isn't always the case.
There were times toward the end where I thought the book was dragging - it definitely could've been shorter. However, it was an easy read and nice book for escaping into their lives
*Thank you to Netgalley and Simon & Schuster for the ARC, for which I have given an honest and unbiased review*
Lauren Weisberger always provides fantastic reads. The next in the Devil Wears Prada series, I enjoyed seeing these characters again. Quick beach read for me! Our library will definitely be purchasing. Thank you for the advanced copy.
I'll be honest, I didn't love the follow-up to The Devil Wears Prada, so I was hesitant to pick this one up. I'm happy to report that I shouldn't have hesitated. This is a fun, enjoyable read! I loved this read for so many reasons, but I'll reign in all my gushing and share simply 3.
1. All the SNARK! Emily is as snarky as ever, but her friend Miriam is just as fabulous! I loved her observations on the "mommy" world as she adjusts to life post-career.
2. The discussion on marriage and the good, the bad, and the ugly found within it. Life and marriage can be hard. I love that these women knew when to work on their marriages and when it was time to let go.
3. It reminds me of an episode of the Real Housewives, which I love. I just wish these ladies were real so that they could grace my TV!
This is a great summer read, so pick up a copy before the snow returns!
I definitely enjoyed this one. It was both heartfelt and funny. The characters were a bit exaggerated, but that was definitely part of their charm as well. I've enjoyed a lot of books by this author, and I hope there will be more in the future!
Kind of a fun glimpse into the world of wealthy housewives but I found it a little too crass for my taste.
A great read and another smash hit by Lauren Weisberger! When I had to put the book down after reading for 8 hrs straight I couldn’t wait for the next day to continue on the journey. This book contains intrigue, laughter, fun and exemplifies the importance of woman bonding. I could envision Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep in their roles from The Devil Wears Prada. The additional characters are wonderfully woven into a heartbreaking yet fun, wonderful and amazing read. Lauren Weisberger does not disappoint. There is a lot of substance and grit to the robust fun book with some interesting twists and turns. Loved it!
One of my new favorite books! This author has such a way with words the pages flew by in no time! I can’t wait to see the next work by this author! This was such a joy to read!
Former assistant Emily is grown up and working as an image consultant. In typical Weisberger style there are a cast of characters that you both love and hate and sometimes love to hate. Fun summer book.
I am sorry for not reviewing fully but I don’t have the time to read this at the moment. I believe that it wouldn't benefit you as a publisher or your book if I only skimmed it and wrote a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for not fully reviewing!
Entertaining sassy summer book to get lost in while sitting in a beach chair listening to the tide come and go.
Not into it at all after multiple tries. None of the characters was particularly likeable and I couldn't "root" for any of them. DNF.
I have chosen not to review this title. My apologies for the delay in responding to this and advising you of this, especially as it is likely obvious I have chosen not to review, I thought I had sent in all of my DNF titles.
As always, I appreciate the opportunity.

The Devil Wears Prada was one of my favorite books years ago and I absolutely loved the movie, plus Emily was by far one of my favorite characters. So when I saw this book was coming I was so thrilled to receive this copy. Emily is just as snarky as I remember but also softer at the same time. Loved this book and I do hope there are more to this series.
Hysterical. Definitely her best since Devil Wears Prada— breezed through it in the best way! If you’re looking for something entertaining but with enough heft to keep you hooked, pick this up.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC
It was really fun to revisit the world of The Devil Wears Prada so many years later. Charming and delightful.
