Such a great book if you loved the devil wears prada! I loved Emily so seeing her character years later is way too fun! Great summer beach read!

I daresay i recommended this book all over Facebook and to friends this summer - but didn't share my review here, so time to rectify the situation!!

Emily Charlton might have been my favorite character from The Devil Wears Prada, so this book was a delight! Lauren Weisberger delivers her usual snappy dialogue, in a light, fun, fast paced read. Emily is her snarky self, and we meet two friends: former model Karolina, who gets herself in a bit of a pickle and needs Emily's help as an image consultant, and former attorney-turned-stay at home mom, Miriam, who joins the fight to help Karolina. Told alternately from all three points of view and set in the Greenwich, Connecticut, it's filled with the over the top stereotypes of lunching ladies clad in Lululemon and views of ridiculous wealth and privilege.

The story is hilarious, but underlying the humor Karolina is the victim of lies and deception, and the trio handles it in the only way you would expect them to. This is all over the top, eye-rolling fun.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of the book. All opinions are my own!

Another great book by Lauren Weisberger. The character development is well done. The three main characters are great with lots to love and hate about them all. This was a fun, quick read.

I enjoyed this book immensely - since it was part of a series I had already read. The characters were well developed and likable. They live in a world different than mine so it was great to lost in the suburbs of NYC. I would recommend this book as a stand alone to enjoy or to anyone who enjoyed The Devil loves Prada.

I recommend this on my blog Modern Mrs Darcy in a blog post called "20 books everyone will be talking about this summer"

When looking for a light, laugh out loud read, you can’t go wrong with a Devil Wears Prada book. Filled with snarky sass, pop culture references, scandal and heart warming friendships, When Life Gives You Lululemons is a perfect rainy day (or anytime) read!

This book was a super quick, fun read that made me laugh out loud. You definitely don't need to have read The Devil Wears Prada to know what's going on - it operates as a standalone, IMO. Perfect vacation book!

This is the 3rd book in the Devil Wears Prada series and I loved it. It wasn’t as good as The Devil Wears Prada, but it was much better than the sequel Revenge Wears Prada. This one focused on Emily Charlton, the bitchy senior assistant from the 1st book and I loved her and the two other characters that made up the story. I enjoyed seeing how her character has grown between all three books and how it still had a dash of Devil Wears Prada to it with the fashion and viciousness of the mommy-set of Greenwich, CT.

As one would expect, this novel was a really a fun read. With our beloved, snarky Emily back and all the other stereotypical characters, one couldn't ask for a better "chick lit". book. The situations, the crassness, the close-knit friends all add up to quite the entertaining read.

I absolutely loved this book! This was the perfect easy, fun read - exactly like watching an episode of "Real Housewives", which I am obsessed with. I think it's great that this book can be read either as a stand-alone novel or as part of the series. The characters were great, the plot was interesting, and I really enjoyed all the references to current cultural events. This book is 100% a five star rating and I plan to read it several more times!

I thought this book was a lot of fun, bringing us into Emily's word this time. It was a fast-moving, chick lit look at the mommy culture of the suburbs, current events, and politics. It sat squarely in the world of rich, NYC & suburban families, with lots of expensive habits and name-dropping, but it was fun to visit for a while. It was different enough from the previous Prada books to serve as a stand-alone, but was nice to get a little dose of Miranda Priestly in there as well. It was also similar in tone to books like Fitness Junkie.

I had not read The Devil Wears Prada, only seen the movie beforehand. But if that was made into a movie, this book should be too! Emily is just the best. Her prissy and blunt voice is addicting. I loved how it wasn't only a story about Emily, it was nice to see how Miriam and Karolina's stories unfolded and tangled together.

While their interactions and banter were addicting, other parts of the book were not. The abuse of power and throwing around of opulent wealth was a hard pill to swallow. It hits too close to home in our current political environment. I hate the whole "because I can" response that rich men give when asked why they are being so gosh darn horrible.

Definitely a fun read, but I did need to take frequent breaks due to the rather frustrating male characters.

I honestly could not resist the opportunity to pick up When Life Gives You Lululemons. The cleverness of the title is enough to make me want to read it. But then add in that it is part of The Devil Wears Prada series and I am all in.

Although it did not encapsulate my life and take over as The Devil Wears Prada did back in the day, it did offer an update on the lives of some of those key characters, namely Emily. It really was a treat to see how the snarky, unfiltered Emily grew up and made a name for herself once leaving Miranda's clutches. The book mainly follows Emily as she transitions herself from all things Hollywood, back into the NYC/Greenwich, CT lifestyles of large SUVs, all-day athletic wear, and of course scandal.

I love a look into the lives of those who seem to have it all but under the surface don't. Everyone struggles and this is a comedic look on how some of the more privileged navigate through it.

Sitting on the couch with a cold, my tissues and hot tea at the ready is the perfect time to indulge in a chick lit book. Lauren Weisberger is the perfect writer to read when looking for a well written and very entertaining plot. Already known for her novel, The Devil Wears Prada, she has once again been able to use a clothing label to conjure the image of the Gen X housewife. Realizing that I have just left the "stay at home mother vs working woman" stage of life it is still fun to read. I still feel I can relate to the angst and worries of wanting to stay home and not feeling productive and independent. This is was a fun novel that dealt with that issue, with a bit of an exaggeration, with three women.

All three women are in their thirties, approaching life from different prospectives. Emily Charlton, married, working as a Hollywood image consultant, is a hard brash woman, who says she does not want children and works hard to maintain her figure and her social connections. Her childhood friend, Miriam is now a stay at home mom, living in Greenwich, Ct. Greenwich is a wealthy suburb of New York City, where all the young moms are wearing Luluemon leggings and looking beautiful in their workout clothes. They are living a fast, over the top lifestyle with sex toy parties and discussions of plastic surgeries over lunch at the juice bar. Then, there is Karolina Hartwell, beautiful Victoria Secret model, now married to an ambiguous senator who has aspirations of the presidency. Karolina thinking she cannot have children of her own is step mom to Hartwell's son.

The three women each run into personal trouble and are trying to find their way through the hard dilemmas they are facing. They come together as a team helping each other through their problems. Miriam, loves staying home with her three children, wearing sweatpants with elastic waists, but maybe not completely. She is thrilled when her old friend Emily appears on her doorstep needing a shoulder to cry on as she experiences a crisis of faith that she is still viable in the workplace. Emily feels she is being replaced by younger women. The two band together when their mutual friend Karolina is possibly set up by her husband with a DUI and deserted by her "friends" in WDC. Looking for retribution, the women work side by side, discovering something new about each other and themselves as they work to clear Karolina's name.

A perfect addition to the Devil Wears Prada series. I love seeing where all these characters have gone. Weisberger always does a great job crafting such intricate characters, stories and environments. They never fail to be enjoyable dramatic reads. Would recommend to anyone who is a fan of the series.

I received an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley. As always, thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I read Devil Wears Prada years ago - well before the movie came out. I enjoyed the movie as well! I did not see the need for a sequel, so I never actually read book 2. Given that it's been probably 13+ years since I read the original, I am not sure why I didn't pick up the sequel, other than it didn't have the best reviews. And maybe I didn't care for Andy much.

That being said, Emily was always one of my favorite characters, made even more so by Emily Blunt playing her in the movie. (Apparently she's in book 2 as well? Ah well.) This book focuses on her and some new friends, Miriam and Karolina, though there is a brief popup of Andy and Miranda. (Did Andy name her daughter CLEMENTINE? I cannot.)

Overall, this was a light read that I needed and have been looking for the past few weeks. Emily is wonderfully brash, and I even enjoyed Miriam and Karolina. I would love to see this turned into a movie with Emily Blunt (and of course some wonderful guests appearances!) Overall, there isn't anything earth shattering or new here - the story is a bit predictable overall. And the obsession with weight is still a bit too much for me.

A hilarious book that our generation needs! The humor and observation of the trends that our society is going through is such a refreshing experience. Loved the characters and I could so relate to the characters and their situations. It's the perfect follow up to The Devil Wears Prada and what happens to Emily after her job as Miranda's assistant. And now there is a band of misfit women who find themselves in various versions of disaray, trying to survive a suburban lifestyle they've been thrust into. Together, they’ll navigate the social landmines of life in America’s favorite suburb on steroids, revealing the truths—and the lies—that simmer just below the glittering surface. With her signature biting style, Lauren Weisberger offers a dazzling look into another sexy, over-the-top world, where nothing is as it appears.

I read this just because of the title and my well known obsession with my Lululemon collection, sadly I didn’t give a shit about any of these characters and it was an overall waste of time.
