I love Lauren Weisberger and couldn't wait to start reading this book! I LOVED the Devil Wears Prada so how could I not love this book right? While the book was good and you really got to know the characters, I didn't like how Emily's character was defined at the end. Miranda's character almost seemed like an after thought in the book and really needed her famous tag line "That's all". Andy was barely mentioned and I think she should have been. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great chick-lit book and fun read!

Do I recommend picking up When Life Gives You Lululemons? Yes! This book takes place years after the Devil Wears Prada, but I love that Emily is still 100% Emily. She also stays that way throughout the book. She’s cynical, witty, and doesn’t have a problem calling it like it is. Weisberger lets the story develop naturally and nothing about the story feel forced. Even though the story felt finished at the end, I can only hope that Weisberger follows it up with another novel about this group of women.

Such a great summer read! I thoroughly enjoyed this new title by one of my favorite chick lit authors. I identified with all of the characters in one way or another, and kept envisioning the book being made into a movie. You did not have to read "The Devil Wears Prada" to follow along with the plot, although it did make a couple of jokes/ scenes even funnier. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quick, easy read.

When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren She's better is the third installment of the Devil Wears Prada series. I had only read the first book, and was concerned I'd have trouble following along. I'm pleased to say, I had no trouble diving right in to the crazy lives of Emily, Karolina, and Miriam.
The book switches between all three women's points of view as they deal with motherhood, high profile careers, marriage, and scandal. It is a light-hearted, quick read that will keep you entertained and possibly even laughing out loud. These ladies will suck you into their lives right off the bat, and make it hard for you to put the book down.

Loved this book and finished it in just a few days! Love the bond between these women as they each go through difficult times and how the story went back and forth from each ones perspective. Highly entertaining with lots of laughs!

4 Sassy Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟
She’s baaack... Love when I get to revisit a favorite character and Emily definitely tops my list of all-time favorite characters... “The Devil Wears Prada” is a favorite of mine! Loved all the Snark, laugh out loud moments, and of course the fashion.... oh and I mustn’t forget Maranda, who makes an appearance in this book and is still as vapid as ever....”that’s all...”

Emily is now an image consultant to the stars, living in California... but when supermodel Carolina gets her self in some trouble Emily heads to Greenwich, Connecticut.... greenwich is filled with beautiful mansions and Lululemon wearing mommies... Carolina has been charged with a DUI with kids in the car.... Emily, Carolina, and Miriam, lawyer turned stay at home mom, bond together to fight the charges and the other mothers of Greenwich...

The story is told from all three points of view... I loved all three of these ladies, they were all so much fun and I loved the bond they formed... nothing better than strong female friendships in a book.... if you are a fan of the previous book this is a must-read... filled with all the Snark, fun,and laugh out loud moments of the first book....

Absolutely recommend as a fun beach read or an escape from reality during the heat of summer☀️

*** many thanks to Simon & Schuster for my copy of this book ***

I received this book free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This was a great summer read. Entertaining story, easy to read, and definitely one that you could lose yourself in while sitting by the pool on a summer day. Liked how it had the same kind of tone as "The Devil Wears Prada."

I really enjoyed this book! I wasn’t sure how I felt about another piece of the Devil Wears Prada saga since I loved the original so much, but this book could definitely be enjoyed without any prior knowledge of the rest of the series. It was relevant without being over the top, and while it took a few chapters to get to know each of the three main characters, after that, it flowed well between each one. This is a light, fun, summer read. Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC!

Great Summer 2018 Beach Read. I really found this to be enjoyable and entertaining. I especially loved the very relevant pop-culture references — they were so up-to-date. Between the snippets of real-life right-now moments and the banter among the three protagonists, the book is very au courant. I would love to have a friend like Emily. Heck, I’d love to be Emily. I can totally see this being made into a movie. And as a stand alone, at that — while a trailer for it for sure would reference The Devil Wears Prada (and Meryl Streep could surely make a cameo to delisciously reprise Miranda Priestly), one does not need to have read the book nor have seen the movie to enjoy this.

I liked this book a lot more than I was expecting to! I was afraid it was going to be "oh so trendy" with too much insider lingo, but it was surprisingly down to earth and easy to relate to.

Emily Charlton from The Devil Wears Prada is back and she's an image consultant. Some of her clients take her advice; others not so much. One of her friends in Greenwich Connecticut, Miriam, knows Karolina Hartwell, a famous ex-supermodel married to a senator who has just been arrested for a DUI she swears was unjustified. Emily know she can help Karolina, but it's going to take a lot to rebuild her image and find out what really happened.

The book moves along at a quick pace and the writing is solid. There are some wicked jabs at the suburban denizens of Greenwich which are funny to read. The plot was interesting and kept my attention.

I definitely recommend this book. Thanks to Simon & Schuster and Netgalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

In typical Weisberger fashion, When Life Gives You Lululemons is witty, clever and fun! This is the perfect summer read. Hang out in your favorite suburb and laugh along with these clever women.

Sometimes. you just need to read something fun. That is what When Life Gives You Lululemons is. Starting with the title, adding in Emily from The Devil Wears Prada, and an amazingly beautiful and wealthy group of friends, this book is pure indulgment.

When Life Gives you Lululemons follows the lives of 3 woman throughout the course of a year. Emily meets up with her childhood camp friend Miriam, a lawyer who grew up with Karolina, who knows Emily from when she was a super model. Their jobs all benefit each other and they are able to live with each other basically seamlessly, despite having enough money to stay at a hotel. Yes, there are some small world coincidences that make the book run smoothly, but in this case I can simply appreciate them.

This book is a perfect summer time beach read.

I received this ebook free from NetGalley.

"HE SET HER UP. THEY’LL BRING HIM DOWN.

Welcome to Greenwich, Connecticut, where the lawns and the women are perfectly manicured, the Tito’s and sodas are extra strong, and everyone has something to say about the infamous new neighbor.

Let’s be clear: Emily Charlton does not do the suburbs. After leaving Miranda Priestly, she’s been working in Hollywood as an image consultant to the stars, but recently, Emily’s lost a few clients. She’s hopeless with social media. The new guard is nipping at her heels. She needs a big opportunity, and she needs it now.

When Karolina Hartwell, a gorgeous former supermodel, is arrested for a DUI, her fall from grace is merciless. Her senator-husband leaves her, her Beltway friends disappear, and the tabloids pounce.

In Karolina, Emily finds her comeback opportunity. But she quickly learns Greenwich is a world apart and that this comeback needs a team approach.

So it is that Emily, the scorned Karolina, and their mutual friend Miriam, a powerful attorney turned stay-at-home suburban mom, band together to not only navigate the social land mines of suburban Greenwich but win back the hearts of the American public. Along the way, an indispensable ally emerges in one Miranda Priestly.

With her signature wit, Lauren Weisberger offers an alluring look into a sexy, over-the-top world—and proves it’s style and substance together that gets the job done."

Because we're milking this whole The Devil Wear Prada thing until the end!

This was my first Lauren Weisberger book, and I was a little worried to jump into this one without reading The Devil Wears Prada first, so I watched the movie instead. Honestly, it was probably unnecessary. I already had a good enough grasp of the important characters, and this novel can completely stand on its own. I thoroughly enjoyed it! It's the perfect read for the summer--on the beach, by the pool, or curled up on the couch! The characters were delightful, the story engaging, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments! A perfect distraction!

One of the most memorable characters from The Devil Wears Prada was first assistant Emily (played by Emily Blunt in the movie). This book, the third in the Prada series, takes a look at Emily several years later, after she’s become a successful image consultant to celebrities, handling their crises and holding their hands when they must deal with difficulties in their lives. This installment is set in Greenwich, Connecticut, a suburb it’s easy to make fun of for its scary suburban mothers.

This was a fun glimpse into a different world. It’s just as foreign to me as the fashion industry in NYC, but the three characters’ worry about getting older was more relatable, and a Prada book with very little Miranda Priestly was also welcome (she does make a memorable cameo appearance). Douchey philandering politicians are always easy to hate, and the senator Spencer was no exception. I don’t know if Karolina was supposed to bear any resemblance to Melania, but if so, Weisberger made her very sympathetic. Marian was also a very likeable character.

There were some funny scenes, and I read it at the beach, which made it a perfect fit. It was a little cliched, but not too much, and overall, I found it a very enjoyable read.

I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Emily's back! Now, I'm going to start this review with stating a simple fact: I never read "The Devil Wears Prada." I'm going to follow that fact with this one: I have, however, seen the movie approximately a million times. That being said, you do not really need to have read the first novel to be able to become fully immersed in the DWP world that Weisberger has created.

I was not as in love with this story line as I was with DWP, but it was equally as entertaining. Similar in theme to her first novel, this book is about three women finding their place in the world and rediscovering themselves. Emily has attempted to leave Runway in her past and start her own image consulting company; Karolina finds herself in a brutal custody battle for the stepson she's been raising since his toddler years; and Miriam is lost as she tries to figure out how she fits into the new suburban life her family has chosen. All in all, I really enjoyed reading each of these women's perspectives and how they eventually were able to realize their dreams and find their place in New York City. I loved being able to watch as they grew into their best selves as mothers, career women, and wives - almost, dare I say it, showing us as a reader it is possible to have it all. It may not be perfect and it may not be without stress and heartbreak, but it can be done and it is completely worth it.

I will say that this book was missing one thing: Miranda. She did appear in a few scenes and gave us her classic Miranda stare, but it simply was not enough.

I really enjoyed this novel (maybe more so because I was able to ready Emily's lines as if it was Emily Blunt speaking to me and the same with Meryl Streep) - which might be evident from the fact that I finished it in less than a day.

Favorite Quotes:
"I buzzed them in. You can't refuse a cookie solicitation, it brings seven years of bad luck."
(Chapter 6)

"Come on, let's go get a coffee or something. If we stay here, people might talk to us."
Emily jumped with the energy of a child about to board a roller coaster. "That's really all you had to say. Walk. I'm right behind you."
(Chapter 15)

That's all.

I love Lauren Weisberger’s writing and I really enjoyed this book! It was such a fast read that I found myself slowing down so I wouldn’t finish the book so quickly. Being a big fan of The Devil Wears Prada, I enjoyed the references to characters and situations, including the more subtle references. The characters were wonderful. I can totally see this one as a movie. Recommended for a great summer read!

I was really excited to have a new book from Lauren Weisberger for my summer reading.. I have enjoyed all of her other books and was happy to have an addition to the Devil Wears Prada story. This book tells a story involving Emily, Miriam and Karolina. Emily, the former assistant to the infamous Miranda Priestly, has moved on with her life after Runway, is married and has her own thriving business on the West Coast. When that business is threatened, Emily turns to her old friend Miriam and in turn is reintroduced to Karolina, who is former model that Emily knew from Runway. Emily takes up temporary residence on the East Coast, a new client in Karolina and ultimately turns to Miranda Priestly for help. Emily, Miriam and Karolina work through Karolina’s marital problem and problems of their own. Some actual Miranda Priestly interactions and a mention of what Andy Sachs is up to were perfect. Emily is as snarky as ever and I wouldn’t like her any other way. A surprise at the end perfectly completes this book.

Five stars for this one! I started this book without having read any of Lauren Weisberger’s other books and now I am loading all her other words in my the list for this summer.
This story is centered around three women in different places of their lives with marriage, children and careers.
Weisberger creates this story and intertwines the characters in a way that is so interesting and fun to read. There is a good mix of drama and romance with wonderful jabs of comedic sarcasm that you would probably hear from talking with your own girlfriends. This book could easily be a fun summer read to take to the pool, the beach, road trip anywhere you go to escape with a book this summer!
