This follow up to The Devil Wears Prada was much better than I expected. Strangely enough I actually felt like I could make connections with the characters and cared about what happened to them.
Per usual the men were all jerks and the women ruled.

This is the only book I’ve read in this series, so that might have had an impact on my review. Maybe not, but it’s something to keep in mind.

Emily from The Devil Wears Prada is one of the main characters in this book. She isn’t working for Miranda anymore, she’s now representing celebrities. She gives some examples of the biggest, real world, celebrity scandals and says that she’s the one who fixed their public reputation. So, when presented with Karolina’s situation, she definitely feels that she can manage it.

Karolina has been falsely accused of driving drunk with her step son and his friends in the car. She is married to a man in politics, who sees himself running for president someday. He very quickly, cruelly cuts ties with Karolina.
The only thing Karolina wants to recover, really, is her step son.
She doesn’t want or need money. She’s not out for revenge, she just doesn’t want to lose the boy who has been her son for ten years.

The link between Emily and Karolina is Miriam.
Miriam is newly a stay at home mom and newly to Connecticut. She is having a lot of trouble adjusting. The wives all seem perfect. Miriam isn’t used to the lavish parties, the expensive workout clothes, the obsession over weight and appearance and plastic surgery.
She doesn’t feel like she measures up.
And then she starts to question her husband’s commitment. Why? Well, because it seems like everyone in their town is just putting on some fake display of being happy. If they can’t keep their husbands happy, with all they do to be perfect, how is it possible her husband is happy? Ugh, so sad. Poor Miriam.

And also kind of a rough storyline, at one point I thought there might not be one adult character in this book that was happy. This is chick lit, right? Why was it all fun in the beginning then everyone was doubting themselves and their relationships by the middle?

I’m happy with the way Karolina’s story ended.
Less so, Miriam and Emily.
It did seem like everyone was happy at the end though, which I definitely appreciated.

I got to read an early copy of this e book through NetGalley.

When Life Gives You Lululemons was exactly what I hoped it would be. The main characters are strong women of all traits (snarky, kind, smart, etc) that would complete any good squad. The villain is someone we can all unite against. And, of course, there’s Miranda Priestly! (If you haven’t read The Devil Wears Prada and seen the movie – add that to your list, too!) I could not put this book down and finished it in 2 days.

The book is written from the perspectives of each of the 3 main characters – Emily, Karolina, and Miriam. The main arc of the novel revolves around Karolina, with the personal stories of Emily and Miriam weaved in. While the whole story plays out in the world of the rich and famous, the problems and issues they face are ones most women in our 30’s and 40’s can relate to: How do you have a relationship with your spouse while raising small kids? Do I keep working or do I stay at home? I don't have kids, but all my friends do so how do I fit in? How do I handle this divorce with the least impact to my kids? Why are adult toy parties so popular? How do we handle this arms race otherwise known as goody bags for kids birthday parties? If you can relate to any of these questions, RUN to get a copy of this book and tell your husband he’s watching the kids because mommy is going to be busy for a while.

Loved this book! It was exactly what I've been waiting for from Lauren Weisberger. The characters were hilarious and although I thought it ended a little abruptly, I did enjoy how everyone ended up exactly where they should be!

I found "When Life Gives You Lululemons" a fast, fun read. It was dishy and felt like I was eavesdropping on the juiciest gossip in the neighborhood. Each of the main characters was well-drawn and their voices were distinct and engaging. I would definitely recommend this book as a beach read.

Two words. Miranda. Priestley. What a great book. Characters were thoroughly developed. Over the course of the story, the characters became more and more like able. The story flowed easily. I could not put it down. I would highly recommend.

Of course, this is a sequel to the "The Devil Wears Prada" book after Emily and Andy have moved on from their sentence with Miranda Priestly. (And yes, she does make an appearance in this book.)

Emily is now an agent to the rich and famous helping them get out of the stupid things that they sometimes tend to do. A new agent is in town and they are one by one taking Emily's clients away. This leads her to spending time in Greenwich with her friend, Mariam, who is a semi retired lawyer who stays at home with her three children. One of her best friends is Karolina Hartwell, a retired Victoria Secret's Angel who is married to a Senator (boo hiss). (You will have to read the book to see why I added those words after the word Senator. Ha!!

The adventures start as Emily, who literally despises the suburbs, comes to visit.

Life is suddenly cray, cray in Greenwich as you read about the adventures of these three. I laughed out loud so many times. And, I shook my head, a lot.

An absolutely enjoyable read that kept me entertained until the very end.

BTW, Andy is mentioned in the book via a phone call with Emily and we discover what she's up to these days.

On another note: I watched "The Devil Wears Prada" and I read the book years before that. I just knew when I was reading the book that it would make a great movie!! I know Emily Blunt played Emily, Miranda's first assistant. I've watched the movie several times. However. . .while reading this book, I could not get the face of Krysten Ritter out of my mind. It drove me crazy throughout this book. I kept trying to see Emily Blunt but my mind would not let it go. Ha!!

Thanks to Simon & Schuster and Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

I loved this book but then I love all her books. I love the pure sparkling fun of the story. This book is definitely a winner so absolutely pick it up and be prepared to ignore everything else going in your life as you are immersed in their story. Well done Lauren Weisberger. I can't wait to read her next book. Happy reading!

Emily was the famous, hard-working assistant to Miranda Priestly in the infamous book, “The Devil Wears Prada.” Oh, how I loved that book! Today, Emily is married to Miles and now has her own business where she finds ways to get famous people out of trouble when they say or do something they shouldn’t. Having flown to New York from her home in Los Angeles to fix something a young musician had done, he decides to fire her and hire a new “fixer.” Now, she wonders if she should go back to work for Miranda who would hire her in a flash.

Miriam is a stay-at-home Mom to 5-year-old twins, Matthew and Maisie and an older son, Benjamin. She used to be a high powered attorney who worked constantly until she had her children. Now, she is happy to be at home with them and surrounding herself with their activities. Her husband has a great job and is delighted that she is home.

Karolina is the wife of a Senator and has just been pulled over and given a DUI for driving drunk with five kids in the car. But she wasn’t drunk. The cops took her to jail, never administered a breathalyzer, and kept her there overnight. She has been step-mom to her husband’s son since he was a baby, and she adores him. Her husband turns his back on her and she is shocked because she cannot help but think this is politically motivated because his plans are to run for President.

Using her fix-it skills, Emily steps in along with Miriam and her attorney skills, to help their good friend. Thus begins a number of steps that Emily suggests Karolina do to handle the situatio,n and Miriam is there with them.

The fun starts that will keep the reader laughing and maybe shedding a tear or two. Don’t miss this. It’s funny, sassy, and sexy. I loved every minute of reading this book.

When Life Gives you Lululemons is a hilarious and witty novel that stars Emily Charlton, former first assistant to Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada. Emily’s career is teetering on the heels of younger new image consultants and finds herself in Greenwich, Connecticut. The story follows Emily’s best friend, Miriam, a new SAHM that is navigating the suburbs for the first time. It is Miriam that introduces Emily to Karolina Hartwell. Karolina is in the middle of a disaster media scandal following a DUI arrest and custody battle with her estranged successful high-profile husband.

As the three women attempt to fit in with the suburbs’ abnormal wealth, odd relationships and general love of athletic wear, an unlikely beautiful and funny story emerges. Emily’s wit, self-esteem and general “take no BS” attitude is just the type of person Karolina needs in her corner. The story gives us witness to Miriam’s struggle to find her new identity and define herself as a mother, wife and lawyer.
When Life Gives you Lululemons is the perfect book for an afternoon at the pool and will certainly be one of 2018’s best summer beach reads. Readers cannot help but to root for all the women in this witty story and will often laugh out loud at the ostentatious and over the top lifestyle happening in quaint Greenwich.

Emily Charlton is back and so is Lauren Weisberger. When Life Gives You Lululemons is Weisberger's best novel since The Devil Wears Prada. Emily is as blunt and stylish as ever. And she is married! She is no longer working for Miranda Priestly, but as a L.A. based image consultant to the stars. Due to crazy circumstances Emily finds herself living temporarily in Greenwich, CT. Weisberger provides Emily with two friends and the chapters alternate between these three main characters and their amazing story lines. Life in the suburbs is not what Emily expects.
This novel is fantastic and is the perfect summer read!

When Life Gives You Lululemons” is the perfect light, summer read by Lauren Weisberger. It’s ultimately a story about friendship. I haven’t read the first two books in this series, but I can tell you I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The style of writing is fresh, snarky, and engaging.

The story is predominantly set in a wealthy suburban town. The women are shallow, privileged, botoxed narcissists all except the three main characters who maintain a refreshing ‘devil may care’ attitude. One of the best things about this book was the witty dialogue.

If you are looking for a fun summer read, I highly recommend reading this on the beach with cocktail in hand.

Instead of reading The Devil Wears Prada (one of my all-time favorites!) for the hundredth time this summer, try Weisberger's latest installment! We get the chance to catch up with our favorite snarky first assistant, Emily Charlton; she has moved on from her adventures with Miranda at Runway build a career as a fixer for Hollywood's elite. When she finds herself in a tough spot with a high-profile supermodel she'll use her resources, and relationship with Miranda, to form a solid team and leave you laughing out loud. I couldn't put this one down; highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this book! I have been a fan of Lauren Weisberger, since The Devil Wears Prada!! I was overjoyed when Emily and Miranda were featured in this story!

The story is totally different from The Devil Wears Prada, with more focus on Emily after leaving Runway magazine. In addition, two other characters are introduced Karoline & Miriam. I don't want to spoil the story because it is SO worth reading, but you will laugh out loud, get angry and pump your fist in the air!?! At least, I did!!

This story goes beyond fashion and beauty. It explores the development of women as they mature and how what we think we want may not really be what we need. The author has the lovely ability to "school" you with wit and charm, while delivering a message, so you never feel hurt by it or "preached" to, because your too busy laughing!?! Score another great read for Lauren Weisberger!!! #Kuddos #ThatsAll 😊

This was a great and fun read.
Emily and Miriam are old friends, now bring Karoline into the mix and you have three great women and their stories.
Emily, worked for Runway and Miranda, now an Image consultatant is losing clients left and right to a younger It-Girl. She goes into hiding and lives with Miriam, her childhood friend. In the meantime Karoline, wife of a NY US Senator, gets pulled over, spends the night in jail for drunk driving and her husband ignores her. Her friend Miriam, with Emily on her heels, try to cheer her up, when her husband suddenly wants a divorce and she is to stay away from his son.
All three women start to work together as secrets are uncovered, problems arise and all three have their own suspicions about their spouses and friends.
I highly recommend this book!!
