An interesting story about a strong woman defying the odds and fighting for her ship. "Rhode Island Rendezvous" (Book 3), by Linda Collison, was full of struggles, dedication and strong friendships. An admirable main character as well as a good read. Thank you NetGalley, the author and publisher for the review copy. All opinions are my own.
This was a great tale but only when I was well committed did I discover why some points weren't 100% clear. I hadn't realised that it third of a collection of three. It was engrossing though, and so unfair to see how women had to hide their gender and pose as men in order to achieve in society as they so desired. Much research went into the writing of this book, I was glad to learn, for there's nothing for disappointing than a sloppily researched book. We learn about her seafaring adventures, her cross dressing in order to survive and her medical endeavours despite the basic knowledge and materials to hand at the time. I really enjoyed this book and will go back and read the first two all be it in the incorrect order.
