Well this book is basically like the novella! Which was good writing and that's about it. Not much happens at all! I just can't believe that this book was that much money?! No, I would not spend that much money for this book! The writing was ok but literally nothing at all happens for 75% of the book! The steam factor is very very low! It was funny and the southern slang was great! There's was an obvious who done it that I thought no way it's him it's to obvious but guess what?! It was him!! I guess some people might enjoy it in just not one sorry! Thank you Simon and Schuster and NetGalley for sharing this book with me!!
Expected publication: June 12, 2018
Publisher's Summary:
An Atlanta ex-cop comes to sleepy Lake Sackett, Georgia, seeking peace and quiet—but he hasn’t bargained on falling for Frankie, the cutest coroner he’s ever met.
Frankie McCready talks to dead people. Not like a ghost whisperer or anything—but it seems rude to embalm them and not at least say hello.
Fortunately, at the McCready Family Funeral Home & Bait Shop, Frankie’s eccentricities fit right in. Lake Sackett’s embalmer and county coroner, Frankie’s goth styling and passion for nerd culture mean she’s not your typical Southern girl, but the McCreadys are hardly your typical Southern family. Led by Great-Aunt Tootie, the gambling, boozing, dog-collecting matriarch of the family, everyone looks out for one another—which usually means getting up in everyone else’s business.
Maybe that’s why Frankie is so fascinated by new sheriff Eric Linden...a recent transplant from Atlanta, he sees a homicide in every hunting accident or boat crash, which seems a little paranoid for this sleepy tourist town. What’s he so worried about? And what kind of cop can get a job with the Atlanta PD but can’t stand to look at a dead body?
Frankie has other questions that need answering first—namely, who’s behind the recent break-in attempts at the funeral home, and how can she stop them? This one really does seem like a job for the sheriff—and as Frankie and Eric do their best Scooby-Doo impressions to catch their man, they get closer to spilling some secrets they thought were buried forever.

Harper successfully charms readers again with this second in the Southern Eclectic series. What's not to love? Harper can write humor effortlessly while blending great snarky, romantic tension with an intriguing, well paced plot. She truly excels with bringing characters to life who are rich with detail, while being vulnerable, eccentric and purely loveable.
Truly, there was nothing that disappointed me about the book other than the fact that I finished it so quickly, that now I'm left wanting more from the Lake Sackett crew.
Final rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Super cute! I love Frankie and I'm glad we get to know her a little better in this book. And the McCready family is just so quirky and fun!
I was left with several unanswered questions, so I hope for a follow up book or two in this series.
This full length novel will be released June 12, 2018 It explores a budding relationship between Frankie, a morgue attendant and member of the McReady family, and Eric Linden, the new sheriff in town.
Frankie first met Eric in Atlanta then he shows up in her hometown of Lake Sackett. To her dismay, their professions keep throwing them together and eventually romance starts. One case that is ongoing is someone keeps trying to break into the Bait Shop and Funeral Home. Frankie is certain it is her nemisis, a local teenage boy whose parents are in denial about their son's behavior.
As usual, Harper brings lots of humor to her story. It also includes romance and mystery. Harper's books are fast to read because they are so enjoyable. In this installment of the Southern Eclectic Series, Harper also includes characters from the previous installments such as Margot, Duffy, and Aunt Tootie with her pack of dogs.
Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for allowing me to read this advanced copy. I encourage everyone to pick it up when it goes on sale in June.
Frankie is a nerd who talks to dead people for a living – she’s the county coroner. She’s accepted her quirky nature and that she’s not cut out for relationships. She prefers one night stands with no questions asked. Unfortunately, the new Sherriff of Lake Sackett, Georgia, Frankie’s home, is one of her previous conquests. And he’s not happy to discover that he has to work with the woman who walked out on him after sex – without even giving him her name.
Frankie was a wonderfully faceted character with some serious hang-ups. I cheered her fandom dedication and shook my head at her unreasonable grudge harboring and inability to stand up to her loved ones, all the while devouring her story. Sherriff Linden was one of those characters that had I disliked to begin with, but by the end of the novel I realized he was Frankie’s perfect foil – and she his. The plot, which involves a bit of mystery and a lot of humor, flowed well and I had trouble putting the book down to do things like work and sleep. I highly recommend this second book in the Lake Sackett series, both for fans of Molly Harper’s previous novels and anyone who’s looking for a fun, light, contemporary romance.
Another fun one from Harper. I love all the quirky characters and I am always laughing.
I didn't realize this was the 4th book in a series, so I felt like I was missing some background. But I did enjoy the characters and their crazy times.
I would say I enjoyed this one about as much as the first, overall. Frankie is such a fun character. This book was funny and cute, not super romancey which is a bit of a bummer but I expected it after the first one was about the same. I was going to wait closer to the release date but my memory is awful so I wanted to read it while the first was fresh-ish in my head. I really like all the characters in this series and loved seeing Kyle and Margot again.
Laugh-out-loud Funny yet Heartwarming
You were introduced to quirky undertaker Frankie and Sheriff Eric in the novella Peachy Flippin’ Keen, but this story is where the romance finally hits. Frankie’s arch nemesis, 16 year old Jared Lewis, also features prominently, but this time you get to see these characters grow. This sometimes hilarious story is filled with snarky dialogue and wacky situations and just enough steam. This can be read as a standalone novel but I encourage you to read Peachy Flippin' Keen first. Loved it.
Very good book with how the novella end. Not really romance heavy but, I did enjoy all the characters (expect for the ones were meant to be hated.) and very funny.

Ain't She A Peach is the second in the southern ecletic series by Molly Harper. I love Molly's books because they are fun, sexy reads. She manages great chemistry between her main characters. All of her series of worth taking home. In this one the coroner and the new sheriff are looking for a murder while try to figure out the chemistry stirring up between them. Frankie is a great character with a few quirks that help add to the story line. What a fun and delicious series!
I love the McCready family and wish I could be adopted in! Great storyline with funny characters and amazing dialogue. Can't wait for the next one!
LOVED IT. Maybe not as much as the last book in the series--this one felt a little rushed overall--but overall love is SO HIGH. Characters are excellent, plot was interesting and well balanced. I can't wait for the next one (there is a next one, right?) to see how Duffy's life works out. <3 <3 <3
In the continuation story of Frankie McCready from Peachy Flippin’ Keen, mortician Frankie is trying to grow up – and out- of her parent’s home. Unfortunately, her Bob and Leslie McCready still view their 28 year old daughter as the sick, leukemia-stricken child she’d been 2 decades ago and they don’t want her moving out, growing up, or becoming involved with any men – much to Frankie - and her raging hormones' - chagrin.
Erin Linden is the interim sheriff in town and happens to be one of Frankie’s one-night stands from a jaunt out of town a few months back. Their personal relationship is shaky – he’s hurt that she left without saying goodbye and she doesn’t understand that kind of thinking – and their professional one is on tenterhooks as well. Frankie’s the town coroner so she sees a lot of Erin on the job, and both are having a hard time not swiping at each other.
Mixed into this tenuous relationship is a series of vandalism that’s struck the family mortuary where everyone in Frankie’s family works. Frankie knows who the vandal is – a 16 year old pain in the neck named Jared Lewis, who happens to be the son of Erin’s boss. Getting Eric to help her apprehend the pubescent pain takes all of Frankie’s seriously depleted charm and patience.
And Eric, despite his attempts not to be, is definitely affected by that charm. When the 2 aren’t conducting a stakeout to apprehend Jared in the act, Eric’s doing his best to keep Frankie out of trouble and jail.
I lovedlovedloved Sweet Tea and Sympathy and Peachy Flippin’ Keen and couldn’t wait for this book to be released because I wanted more of the McCreadys. Frankie and Eric’s road to a potential HEA is rife with twists, turns, and a few nights in lockup, but so worth the read.
5 stars to this charming, funny, and well written book. Thank you Netgalley for giving me a chance to read an ARC for an honest opinion
Molly Harper has a phenomenal voice and a way of telling stories that are funny without losing their heart!
I love this series! Frankie is a one of a kind character that works at her family's mortuary. She takes her job seriously because making the dead look better than they did in life is her mission. Her snarky humor and crazy family add to the fun. Eric, the sheriff, is attracted to her as well as being a bit repelled. He worries that if he ever starts understanding Frankie and her family then something will be very wrong with him! Lots of humor, romance and fun. Loved it!
Loved this book!!! The Southern Eclectic series has quickly become one of my top favorites and Ain’t She a Peach is a perfect example of why! In the novella Peachy Flippin’ Keen, Molly Harper does a fantastic job of setting the reader up to dive straight into this full length gem!
First off, how fabulous are these book titles!?!? Secondly, the characters are completely endearing and well developed, to the point while reading this series you totally forget that you don’t actually know these people in real life- LOVE THAT! If you love novels based in small towns, than this is the book for you, but honestly, it’s so much more than that. Molly Harper’s has created a storyline with a lot of depth and a lot of humor all within a cozy little town where everyone knows your name... and your business! I can’t recommend this 5 star read enough! If you want the perfect beach read, look no further than Ain’t She a Peach
I cannot get enough of this series...with its quirky and lovable cast of characters. Each story depicting members of the McCready family Funeral Home and Bait...an odd combination until you read the story and then it makes perfect sense for this eclectic family. The humor flows subtly throughout, as does the rapid dialog that leaves you turning the pages nonstop...wanting to knowing what’s right around the corner...I can guarantee it’s more than likely not what you’re expecting, but in the best way possible.
The author has kept each story fresh and the characters entertaining and endearing. Frankie and Eric's story has had its foundation laid in the previous novella, seeing it coming fully to fruition was a truly joy to read...also a long over due comeuppance had me cheering for Frankie and her tenacious belief in taking responsibility for actions taken...in of itself had quite some hilarious moments.
I truly hope that the series continues for the town of Lake Sackett, Georgia and the McCready family.
