What an interesting idea for a story.
Ian, Jacques, Serena and Desiree are four young people who make a pact in 1099 to protect humankind from evil forces for a millennium. They originally meet by chance through their travels.
This is a good read. I liked the premise. It is a little slow going as the reader gets into the story, but the pace picks up from there. The writing is a little simplistic. But I so liked the idea of the novel, that I more or less overcame my frustration with the writing style. The novel was entertaining and the characters were well-developed. There was sufficient information given about the protagonists in the story to flesh them out, but not so much that it created a distraction. This is my first Patrick John Donahoe book and I went to Amazon to look for other books of his.
Saving the world is always a good premise for a yarn.
I want to thank NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for forwarding to me a copy of this book to read.
This is an amazing book. Full of historical details, but not boring! Fast paced, characters I really cared about, a good story that kept me turning the pages long into the night. Fans of Bernard Cornwell will enjoy this book.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley. Thank you, Netgalley!
