Beach House Reunion by Mary Alice Monroe is the latest in the Beach House series. The Rutledge family has been through so much through the years. Shadows linger from the past and grief remains. This book picks up with the family again and introduces the next generation. This is a novel of hope and second chances. It has a lasting message of hope in any situation. I think this book is best read in conjunction with the others in the series, just because it will mean more to the reader, but it can be read as a standalone novel. I highly recommend this book! I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher. These opinions are entirely my own.

Mary Alice Monroe is one of my all time favorite authors and I would read absolutely anything she wrote. I love Charleston SC and stories set there. I read this one WHILE ON VACATION in Charleston this summer which was perfect. Beach House Reunion is another compelling family drama that should be made into a movie! Thank you Mary Alice Monroe, Gallery Books and Netgalley for this ARC. #maryalicemonroe #netgalley #gallerybooks #charleston #southcarolina #Summer #Beach #FollyBeach #lowcountry

The perfect book to add to your summer reading list and even more perfect to add to your suitcase if you are heading to a beach! Another fantastic addition to the Bestselling Beach House Series, Mary Alice does an incredible job at pulling you in to the story from the very moment you open up its pages.

Truly a reunion of favorite characters and a chance to catch up with friends! Loved how this book just did not miss a beat in any way. The story was everything I expect in a Mary Alice Monroe book. Wonderful read! I received a copy from NetGalley and the publisher and this is my honest opinion.

Let me say that I did not read the first 4 books in this series and never once felt like the author was having to hand feed me information to understand this story. I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. It is a wonderful beach read but would also be great in the dead of winter by a fire.

Also posted to Goodreads, Facebook, LibraryThing and Amazon.

A beach trip within the cover! We are invited to go to the beach house once again with the family. Love, laughter, drama, with turtle rescues thrown in! This is a light summer read and a trip down memory lane for some. Who doesn't want a low country vacation on the Isle of Palms!

Wonderful book. It took me a bit to get into the storyline, but then it was so good. I hadn’t read any other books by this author, so I do think reading her prior Beach House novel would have added to the story. She interweaves past and present, happy and sad, hurt and healing. I loved the characters, beach setting and turtles! Overall a beautiful story of acceptance and moving forward. Loved it!

Beach House Reunion
A multi-generational novel written as only Mary Alice Monroe can. We have Cara Rutledge returning to the Isle of Palms at the age of 53, along with a baby girl she has adopted. A single mother, she is desperately in need of support from her family. Then there is Linnea, a recent graduate from college with no job prospects at the moment and her younger brother Cooper. Cooper is slated to go the military school, The Citadel, following in his father's footsteps and grandfather before him. However, now he is locking heads with his father who insists he follow family tradition. Lurking in the background is Lovie, the deceased mother and grandmother who has passed on her wisdom in the form of a presence that wraps itself around her family. With a host of other characters and, of course, the Loggerhead turtles, the fifth book in the Beach House series will not disappoint. When you read this novel, you will be wrapped again in a cocoon of family that only Mary Alice Monroe can treat you to! It's like coming home again.
My thanks to NetGalley for providing this advanced copy in return for an honest exchange.

I always enjoy Mary Alice Monroe's books. They always seem to hit the real and true emotions of life, and Beach House Reunion was no different. This book made me feel a plethora of emotions, and even made me teary-eyed. Not only are her books good beach reads, they are also spectacular when one is dealing with their own life issues because her books make you feel as if you are not the only person going through too many life issues at once!

Cara Rutledge is heading home to Charleston, South Carolina where the beach house she inherited from her mother is located. Cara’s past haunts her, but she’s determined to put it behind her and start living again.

Cara’s niece, Linnea, is looking to put her life on track as well. Now that she’s a college graduate, she needs to figure out her career and what direction her life will go. Unfortunately, she has to escape her family’s plans first and go her own way. She stays with Cara at the beach house to try and accomplish this.

Cara and Linnea have much to deal with including new romantic and career possibilities. Now if they can just put the Rutledge expectations behind them, all would be well.

Mary Alice Monroe does a wonderful job of transporting the reader right to the beach in South Carolina. These are realistic characters with realistic problems to solve. I think readers can identify and care about these characters. I know I did.

The pages turn quickly and I didn’t want the book to end. I wanted to stay with the Rutledges at the beach house and see what else is in store for them. It’s a poignant, moving story of a family that truly loves each other, but is controlled by their past and can’t seem to move forward.

This is the 5th book in the Beach House series. I’ve only read #4 and now #5. I quickly became a fan. I do want to go back and read the first three books, but it feels like I already know the history. Mary Alice Monroe is quickly becoming a “must read” author for me.

I really enjoyed this book in the Beach House series. Even though I have not read any of the previous books from this series, it did not affect my enjoyment of this one.

Lots of wonderful beach activities and family relationships abound. I am a huge beach fan and wanted to move in with Cara and Hope in the beach cottage. And one of my favorite aspects was the turtle team activities. I enjoyed the information before each chapter about turtles...especially the loggerhead turtle. What wonderful details and it continued throughout the story with part the story surrounding the family and turtle nests and rescues.

This was a delightful read for curling up in a chair on a porch feeling the ocean breeze and smelling the salty air as you get lost in the story of Isle of Palms and Charleston. Delightful characters and some family dynamics and exciting weather will keep you turning the pages.

Thank you to NetGalley and Gallery Books for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Couldn't get into this book. Probably because the characters were not likeable. Not sure if I finished it.

Three years after the death of her husband, Cara has returned to Primrose Cottage, a beach house she inherited from her grandmother. She wants to get away from the stress of the city and raise her adopted daughter, Hope. She hopes to rediscover the peace and tranquility of summers spent at the cottage while she was growing up.

At age 53, Cara is finding taking care of a one year old a bit overwhelming. She hires her niece, Linnea to be Hope’s nanny. Linnea, a recent college graduate, is happy to be a nanny and enjoy a summer at the beach before starting her career.

Beach House Reunion is a captivating story of family love, conflict, secrets and new beginnings.

The information on sea turtles at the beginning of each chapter is a bonus.

I thoroughly enjoyed Beach House Reunion. The story and characters were well-developed. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a good contemporary read.

This book is heartwarming. Cara tries to make a life with her sweet baby after losing her husband. She moves back to her beach house in South Carolina and finds helping hands. Cara has memories of her grandmother and the women in her life assisting with turtles as they come in to lay eggs. She also learns that her brother and his family are out of sorts and tries to assist with that. While trying to pick up her life she is able to also find a gentleman who she attracted to and might be able to build a future with. I enjoyed reading this book . Like all families there is always hurdles to jump .

A wonderful beach read. Follow Cara and her extended Rutledge family and friends through their trials and tribulations in Charleston and its contiguous islands. You won't want to see this story end.
