I've been reading a lot of suspense/thriller s lately and have been patient to every single title I read. But Girl Targeted just didn't do it for me. I can't seem to get into the story and it's not for lack of trying. I'm also not so drawn to the main character, Aoife, and her plight. I did finish the book, though. But overall, it's just isn't for me.

A tiny bit slow for me but still kept me hooked right until the end, a great story and an easy read, loved it!

This book was incredibly thrilling and the pacing and writing was pretty great as well. I didn't love the end, so it wasn't perfect but I'd still recommend it.

This was a very interesting read. I was very drawn to the overall storyline and found the suspense of the story was done very well.

It did take a while for the story to take off, as it built a lot of starting drama and back story first, but once it did get going, you were kept guessing throughout. There were plenty of opportunities for you to guess who was behind the start of the story, but just as many chances to get it completely wrong. Even when you think you’ve finally cracked it, the author has a way of turning all of that on its head.

The characters were created well, with there being a wide variety of personalities, and plenty of people to love and hate. It made for a very well rounded story and one that felt very realistic, especially for the goings ons of offices.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read and once that made for a very interesting story.

On the cover we see Aoife in profile. A catchphrase on the right sums up the book: "Office work can be stressful, Aoife can be in danger of death".

Aoife lives a dream life: married and pregnant with her first child. When she accepts a temporary office job it will deteriorate. She's going to ask about one of her colleagues and if she's the next target of a killer and why her husband is indifferent to all this.

A very good thriller, the first of this author who has potential. Look forward to reading a book by this author. A gripping story, the character of Aoife endearing. I recommand it.

Thank you Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book wasn't bad, just wasn't for me.

I guess I didn't buy into the pregnant woman so desperate for last minute job. A bunch of things didn't make much sense to me.

That being said, Val Collins' characters were developed superbly. I especially loved reading the bitchy parts. So refreshing. I don't know why readers find villains unlovable, they're so much more unpredictable and interesting on the screens.

I will certainly look out for her future works.

Really enjoyed Aoife's story, and will absolutely be putting this forward during our next catalog review. The pacing was great, I was hooked from beginning to end.

I really wanted to love this. It sounded very intriguing and full of suspense but honestly I was quite bored from the beginning to the end. I found myself constantly checking how many pages I had left.
It just seemed to drawn out and to many characters we never really got to know. So many people but I couldn’t keep track of them and who was who. It was painfully slow moving so any thriller aspects were lost on me because honestly I just wanted it to end. I am so sorry to have to rate this so poorly. I feel terrible but this book wasn’t for me.

Thank you to the publisher, author and NetGalley for my ARC in exchange for my review.

I read this book until about half way through when it just became too slow. Initially thinking this concept was going to provide an interesting book for me., it did not. I'm sure others will find it appealing.
