I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Its a bit of a nail biting thriller, I couldn't put it down. It was quite disturbing to think something like this could actually be happening. I really liked the characters and felt sorry for oliver but I loved Alisha . I'd definitely recommend it and would read it again

While not quite what I was expecting, Tubing was a fast-paced suspense-packed read-and it is not for the faint of heart. There are some rather graphically described scenes, but they do lend to the plot and fill in descriptively written scenes.

This is an incredibly unique book that starts out like 50 shades of commuting but quickly takes a very sinister turn. The characters are complex, the plot is compelling, the writing is cinematic. I think the book ended a scene or two too soon but overall it is such a winning read that I have given it the full 5 stars.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Red Door Publishing for my ARC of the talented novel, “Tubing” by K.A. McKeagney. I enjoyed this book. The twists and turns of the mystery were satisfying and while I may not have been as brave as the main character, I thought the whole premise of “Tubing” to relieve ennui, to be quite believable. Trysts on trains have been happening for decades. So why not on the packed underground in London?
Polly, bored with her boyfriend and life, decides to shake things up after seeing a tryst on the tube. Research gets her nowhere as it’s a pretty “secretive” club. But after an encounter with “Him” Polly is hooked. As her mate says, “if it feels good. It is good.” But as curiosity turns to obsession Polly may be in over her head. When things start to unravel they unravel fast. Who can she trust? Can she share her secret without exposing herself? This is admittedly a mistake of Polly’s making, but that’s what makes it a good book. Not all of what she endures is going to happen in real life. Credibility and incredulity mix together nicely to make this a satisfying read.

I almost gave up with this one. Up until almost halfway through I was thinking I’d picked an erotica book as opposed to psychological thriller. However it did improve and was quite an exciting read. There are a number of things that I feel we’re not really explained but I tried not to let this detract from my enjoyment.

Although not my usual kind of book I found the storyline novel and was intrigued to know the outcome.

I had read the description seen the cover and had high hopes for the book. But sadly this one just wasn;t the one for me. The plot definately gave me something to think about. Iwasnt to keep on Polly and found myself want ting to stop reading rather than carry on.

This is the author's debut novel which takes the reader into the world of the psychological thriller centred around erotic encounters in the London Underground. The basis of the storyline is sufficient to capture the attention of the reader, but there are times in the first half of the book when credibility is stretched to its limits. The second half of the story focuses more on the psychological challenges faced by Polly who has been drawn into this murky world. For me, this part of the book maintained my interest to the end, although I had ambivalent feelings regarding the outcome. This may have been different if the author had spent more time building a "rapport" between the reader and Polly's world.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I wasn't entirely aware that this book sits in the genre of erotic thriller when I started it, but I certainly did by the time I turned the last page. I'm still not sure whether tubing is a real thing (I've not seen a channel 4 documentary about it yet, anyway), and google has stopped believing me when I say "I'm asking for a friend", so it will remain a mystery to me for now.
Anyway....the book. It's a fast paced ride, where a young woman feeling bored in her relationship and job does something risky, and decides she likes it. Except it's not quite that simple. Polly has a troubled past, and no real support network to advise her that she's taking things too far. When she sees something she shouldn't she really is on her own and her life spirals out of control. She isn't a particularly likeable character, and the other characters in the book are not sufficiently fleshed out for me to have cared about them either. Still, the book cracks along at a terrific pace and was different enough to anything I've ever read before for me to enjoy it. The ending wrapped everything up neatly, albeit somewhat quickly.
Thanks go to the publishers and netgalley for the advanced copy in return for an honest review.

An interesting thriller about a woman who gets mixed up in tubing. ( meeting strangers for sex on the underground subways) This started off as a story of young woman getting caught up in a sexy rendezvous with an anonymous man on a subway after thinking her boyfriend forgot their anniversary but turned into something more sinister, leaving her not sure what was real, who she could trust and wondering if she was losing her mind. It was certainly a unique story but I felt it had too many different directions that didn’t quite add up. It did get more intense slightly after the half way point, yet for me it didn’t quite hit is mark. Still an intriguing story. * I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review *

Tubing by K.A. McKeagney a five-star read that will blow your mind. I struggled with giving this book five-stars and almost gave it four as there were lots that needed polishing in the book, but the fact the author really puts the story out there making Polly a character that you may not like but you need to dig deeper into her story, the author has shown a talent for creating circumstances that most of us would disprove of but need to know more about. Polly on the surface has it all, nice boyfriend, job, somewhere to live, but is it enough? Do we have to settle? Admittedly Polly goes to the extreme but isn’t that why we read, to leave reality behind and get lost in a crazy story. What could be, just a drama with a little erotica thrown in to make it a little spicy takes a turn that will drop your jaw and leave you wondering what if, and what next. Give this book a chance if you like to escape reality and live a little dangerously. Let Polly take all of the danger for you.

I read this book in a day because it’s the kind of book that keeps you wanting to find out what would happen next. The story starts with Polly drinking with a work colleague on the night of her 3 year anniversary with Oliver. She’s upset because there is no celebration of this and to make things worse, she bumps into Charlotte, Oliver’s older sister who he is very close to. On the tube home, something unexpected happens. Polly kisses and becomes intimate with a total stranger on the way home. This throws her into turmoil, especially when he ends their encounter with “Meet me again”.
Polly discovers her encounter is known as “tubing” and she is drawn into it looking for this stranger though as she finds, the excitement is also addictive.
There are lots of twists as we follow her on her encounters – does this stranger actually like her? How far will she go? What about her partner Oliver? Added to this, she is a bulimic which compounds the increasing stress she places herself under due to the secretive nature of what she is doing. I really enjoyed this book, it is the perfect novel for losing yourself for a couple of hours. And who knew the tube could be a setting for more than a commute?! Looking forward to McKeagney’s next novel.

This novel follows Polly who lives with her seemingly perfect boyfriend. However her life is mundane ,& boring & after a drunken encounter with a stranger on the tube she enters the world of tubing. Good story but the rushed ending let's it down.

This isn’t my usual type of book but I enjoyed it. It was very well written. I could connect with the story and the main characters. I found the storyline slightly far fetched but believable.

Many thanks to Netgalley and K. A. McKeagney for the copy of this book. I agreed to give my unbiased opinion voluntarily.

Book 7 of 2018 was this; Tubing by @kmckeagney . I am a sucker for a book based in London Town, so when the email from @netgalley came through for this book I hit the request button and @reddoorbooks kindly granted me a copy for this review. Admittedly I had some doubts when I checked out the books score and reviews on @goodreads
So the first half of this book came across a bit like a low rent 50 shades. The main character is Polly a 28 year old living in London with the perfect surgeon boyfriend. But on the way home from a night out she meets a mystery man on the tube home and this meeting changes her life forever, her first tubing experience. She is a very troubled young lady with quite an obsessive nature which leads to her obsession with Tubing or it could just be the mystery man.
The first half of this book is weak, the story doesn’t really go anywhere and it isn’t really that believable. How Polly still had a job come two thirds the way through the book is beyond me. Polly is just a character that is not at all endearing.
However once you got past this first half the story starts to get better and actually becomes a half decent thriller. There’s a little bit of a twist but I did see it coming from some way out as I am sure most people will.
It was an ok read, if you can put up with the mindless first half then you will be rewarded for the second half. On the positives it’s a short book and not too hard a read, I managed it in 48 hours. The 2nd half of the book saved this from being a real low rating. I give this 2.5/5

After another boring day's work Polly goes out drinking. On the train home she sees a gorgeous looking man. When their eyes lock, the next thing she knows, not only do they start kissing but end up having sex on the packed train. As he walks away without saying a word she wonders what the hell just happened. One thing she does know- she wants to see him again.
In her search for him online she discovers a thing called “tubing”, where people have silent sexual encounters. She's knows its wrong but the excitement of it makes her want to try it again, who knows, she may even find that gorgeous man.
She's heading into a very dangerous game, one that could cost her her life.
It didn't take me long to read this thriller. I wanted to know if she found him, if he turned out to be the man of her dreams or someone she really needed to fear. It gripped me from the first page and I loved the twists in it. I have no hesitation in recommending this book and it gets five stars from me.
Many thanks to RedDoor Publishing for approving my arc via NetGalley. This is my honest and unbiased review

IF Fifty Shades had been set on a train, then I imagine that it would have been this novel. I've not read the trilogy so can't say for sure, but there's some funny business going on her that's for sure! I find the Tube quite uncomfortable as it's so hot and humid - well that's nothing compared to the temperature of this book!. Pity I read on the kindle otherwise I would have been using it as a fan. Just as well I remembered before I gave myself a head injury!
The premise is a good one but I'm scared of googling the hashtags in the novel for fear of them being real! The tubes I've been on, people don't even look each other in the eye or make any kind of conversation so this was an eye opener! haha

Not the kind of book I usually read, but many will love it I'm sure

This book is an interesting cross-genre between erotica and thriller, with the protagonist being a quite hard to like character called Polly.

Polly is definitely a complex individual. She has a lovely boyfriend yet is completely disatisfied by her life, her love life, and basically everything. This seems to evolve from a difficult childhood and an addictive personality, which make this character very flawed yet interesting.

Suddenly Polly finds herself in what she considers an exciting situation. She hooks up with a handsome stranger and generally becomes hooked on the thrill of "tubing" - meeting random strangers at specific locations on the tube for some no strings attached sex.

I felt like this was not a book to take too seriously, but it is definitely one you want to continue reading, if only to see quite how badly it's all going to end for Polly.

Could this be why most passengers stare at the floor and avoid eye contact when they are on the tube? Only kidding, but the last 30% really ramped up the thriller side of things and was quite intense. I have to say this section was my favourite part of the book.

A well written tale. I would definitely read more by this author.
