Some geeky teen is going to love this story. The teen misfit, the outsiders, the square peg. This was me at Clarissa's age. I would have appreciated a story like this when I was 13, 14 years old. But that was long ago and fair away, at my current age, I couldn't get into the story as much. Too many idiot adults.... but I am sure teens will enjoy this series! It's a good of with lots of magic and fantasy. Great read, actually. Just not for me.

Excellent supernatural cozy mystery

This is the first book of the “Womby’s School for Wayward Witches. I had previously read the third book of the series “Witches Gone Wicked” and loved it. The current book is just as good. Sarina Dorie created another well-paced, fun story. This is a character-driven story and the action and suspense are excellent.

According to the author’s website, “The series is written so that a reader can enter the series with any of the first three books.” For the two books I read, this is certainly true to me.

I recommend this book as a fun read for fans of the genre and I look forward to the reading the entire series, projected by the author to be 13 books.

This was a fun and interesting book. It is about a young teen who does not feel like she fits in but she really wants to. She loves magic and Harry Potter. It was fun to read, but just seemed to try too hard to be like some of the more popular magic type books. Not a bad read however.

Sorry but I couldn't get into the book at all. I tried though, I'm so sorry for my ADD brain.

I really enjoyed most of this book, until it took a weird turn when tragedy happened. After that the book became bizarre, very unclear, and disappointing. Unfortunately I have no desire to continue this series. I gave this book 3 stars because I did enjoy most of the book.

I received an ARC for a fair and honest review.

Clarissa loves all things magic. She believes it really exists and she also believes she has magic powers. Despite her mom's determination to stamp magic out of Clarissa's life and make her more normal, Clarissa meets and falls in love with the one guy in high school who is just like her. Together they test the boundaries to see just what they are capable of...until tragedy strikes.
This is a very fun YA fantasy book. It kept me smiling throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed it and if you are a fan of YA fantasy, then you will as well.

I received a free copy of Tardy Bells and Witches’ Spells (Womby’s School for Wayward Witches) by Sarina Dorie in exchange for an honest review. Clarissa Lawrence has always wanted have friends and fit in, too. Clarissa is a bit of an odd-duck, though. She remains fascinated with witches, fairies, unicorns and dreams of attending Hogwarts long after most of her age mates have grown out of pretend. Her one respite is her best and beloved friend.

The nitty gritty of this book is Clarissa coming to grips with the betrayal of her beloved friend and her journey to moving on. The friend’s escalating vicious behavior pushes Clarissa to blossom; she looks further afield for kinship and, as a result, finds new friends who all accept and support her. Clarissa also deals with parental expectations and disapproval; like most young women, she has to decide whether she wants to be what her parents would deem to be a good daughter more than she needs to be who she was meant to be.

Clarissa is innocent, quirky, and entirely loveable. The story was engaging and well-written. I’m really looking forward to the next book!
