While Misadventures with My Roommate is part of the "Misadventures" series, it can definitely be read as a standalone. This was my first Elizabeth Hayley book, but it certainly won't be my last.
If you're a fan of roomies-to-lovers, this is the book for you. Full of humor, steamy romance, and two characters that are equally lovable.
Overall this was a good new adult/contemporary romance. I had a great time reading it and will be looking out for more books by this author.
I thought it was very fun and hilarious read. I've never read anything by this author but I very much enjoyed this story!!
Another entertaining Misadventures story. I enjoyed this one immensely, the main character is hilarious and follows no conventional rules.
Definitely recommend!
Fun and hot misadventure!! Great addition to this series!
Misadventures with My Roommate was a bit of a mix for me; I didn’t really gel with Blake’s character, but that could simply have been her strange and unusual behavior. So, while I somewhat liked the story, it is definitely my least favourite of the series so far. Nothing against the author, it just wasn’t really my cup of tea.
3.75 Stars for this installment of the Misadventures series. This was my first read by Elizabeth Hayley. I enjoyed the quirkiness of Blake. She’s sorta all over the place and has no filter. She describes herself as weird, and that was certainly true. Gavin was much more straightforward as a character for me. To his credit he embraces Blake’s weird. The pair had good chemistry, as friends and then as lovers. My issue with this story was simply that I didn’t feel there was enough set up for Blake initially that her behavior was more than odd, which made it hard for me to connect with her for a majority of the story. Once she starts to share some of her history I totally got her, I just felt like if some of her inner dialogue had been shared a little more it could’ve helped. As a result, I struggled with getting thru at times and even though I’m glad I didn’t give up it’s still worth mentioning.

ARC from Netgalley - really love this Misadventures series this author is being added to my TBR list- great book couldn’t put it down !!
Love everything about Blake & Gavin!!
The fact that they are 2 flawed characters not only makes the story more endearing to the reader but was the first book in sometime I felt an emotional connection to their fears & dreams
Coworkers/ Roomates / Friends to HEA
Elizabeth Hayley really nails both these characters - loved the snark & snappy dialog some it was just so funny & then immediately she is pulling at your heartstrings !!
Awesome book - great read !!!
I have loved all of the previous books in the misadventures series and when I saw the cover of this book I wanted to get my hands on it ASAP. I enjoyed the writing style of this book and the plot had great promise but this book was not for me. There wasn’t anything wrong with it I just struggled to connect with the characters and when that happens I get lost along the way. I had to step away a few times hoping that might help but I realized this was just one of those times I didn’t love a book. The amazing thing about reading is that just because one person doesn’t like a book doesn’t mean that someone else will not love it completely and I know many people loved this story. I plan to read more from these two talented ladies in the future and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next round of Misadventures books.
I've read most of this series, save for one or two installments, and I like the fact that it gives me a preview of the author's writing. This book was a bit different than what I'd read before, which was a mark in it's favor, but I had a hard time connecting with the characters, which ultimately distracted from the story.
I liked seeing Blake and Gavin's relationship evolve. However, Blake did some really whacked out stuff to get the relationship jump started. I felt that it was taking the cliché of crazy roommate a bit too far. I loved how supportive she was though, when Gavin had his doubts or his parents came to visit.
All things considered, this was a good story, but lacked something to make it a great one.
I loved Misadventures With My Roommate. It was a fun read with characters that are a bit different than your typical romance hero and heroine. To me, it seem like the roles were reverse in many ways. Gavin isn't rich. He works two jobs to make ends meet. He comes across more of a beta than an alpha male. He's sweet and a gentleman, not being too bold with Blake. She's not shy to be forward. Blake is confident, independent, and unapologetic. Her lack of filter and sarcastic humor made her fun. I loved Blake's quirkiness. The things that came out of her mouth had me laughing. Gavin and Blake made the perfect pairing. I adored how they balance each other out. I also liked that both characters were flawed; it made it quite easy to relate to. I enjoyed this book so much that it took me awhile to realized it was written in third person. When a story is written in this way, I usually take awhile to get into it. Elizabeth Hayley did an amazing job.

This was a quick fun read. Blake, a shady past that you never really know what truly happened, but there are demons there.... with a want to find a better life just unsure who to trust to help in her journey.
Gavin who is trying to find himself and come to terms with the fact that he is not living up to his parents expectations. He knows what he wants to do, but has not really done the work to get there. Just living day by day.
They meet at work and one thing leads to another.... they become friends, then realize they are both looking for a roommate and it all kind of works out. There are sparks, but there is a trust issue and a I'm not sure as I live with this person..... but I am up for just sex for now..... but over time things change for both of them, but will they be able to deal with issues from the past that seems to be in the background and continue to come out to play?

These misadventures books are so much fun to read. They are short and sweet and to the point.
If your looking for an easy afternoon read grab one of them and you won’t be disappointed. They don’t need to be read in any order because they are all standalone books.
Blake Monroe hasn’t had the easiest life, but she’s never been one to dwell on her misfortunes, preferring to see the world as a place where you get what you give.
Having had an especially troubling childhood, Blake’s aware she doesn’t exactly fit the definition of “normal.” Her lack of filter, dry sense of humor, and uncanny ability to read people make her rather unique—and difficult to live with. When her latest roommate has had enough of her antics, Blake decides living with a man might suit her better.
Gavin Gibson’s a dreamer whose artsy aspirations don’t meet the high expectations of his wealthy family. Cast off and cut off, Gavin needs a place to live. When he’s invited to share Blake’s quaint apartment, he cannot pass it up. With a knack for spotting the good in others, Gavin can see past Blake’s quirks—and neither of them can ignore their sexual chemistry.
As sparks fly, their genuine affection for each other grows, and Gavin begins to break down Blake’s defenses. But can Blake open up to reveal the damage she’s worked so hard to conceal?
Thanks NetGalley and Waterhouse Press for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
This was a good read but not my favorite in the misadventures series. The misadventures series are completely stand alone books and can be read in any order. Each one deals with its own storyline and characters.
I thought the story overall was well done and nicely written. I enjoyed it and would recommend others to check it out. My only issue with it was for some reason it kept losing my interest at times and honestly not sure why but everyone is different and others will find it amazing just wasn’t me unfortunately but I’d love to try more from the author.
So I'm gonna start this with the fact that going into the start of this book, I honestly thought that Blake was autistic. There's a lot of things that hint towards it, and I thought to myself well if these two can pull it off, I've found myself a new favorite author...
Blake was not autistic. The reveal was definitely much different than that. I was a little shocked, as I was almost certain with the way she acted. But it wasn't disappointing.
Now the chemistry... As with all misadventure books was hot hot hot. If you're here for the sex, these books are for you. If you're here for the story line, these books are for you. They aren't just erotica, they are wonderful stories that stay with you long after you've read them... And they are steamy as all get out.
And I'll tell you what, I really liked Gavin. He is the perfect book boyfriend. He is sweet as can be, and man is he into Blake. And who doesn't love an artsy guy? Hello... Hot!
The author, well authors, are two chicks I've never heard of or read before, but I'll definitely be checking out their other books.
As with all misadventures books, you won't be disappointed.
This was a great quick read and another great addition to the misadventures series. This is my first book by this author and I am hoping it will not be my last. Elizabeth Hayley did a great job at keeping the story moving and making you not want to put the book down. Blake and Gavin are great together. It’s witty and great. Keep up the great work.
I really enjoyed reading this misadventures book, it’s my favourite so far in this series. There so many great authors who have made great additions to this series of books. This one is by Elizabeth Hayley who I’ve not read anything by before. I will be definitely looking up more books by this author. I have to say the blurb for this book caught my attention and I was made up when I go this book. It was just fantastic right from the start and had me captivated straight away and totally hooked to this book. I could not put it down once I had started reading and had to read in one go. It was such a pleasure to read too. The characters are my favourite thing about this book. They really bring the story to life in my mind and they are very likeable and relatable but also really well written. The author has done such a outstanding job with the characters. They are just fantastic. I especially loved the chemistry and romance between them and throughout the story. Their interactions with each other and other characters in the book. The storyline is amazing too and overall the author has written one fantastic story fo us readers to enjoy in this amazing series. I can’t wait for more books in this series as if there anything like this one then it’s going to be a absolute pleasure to read them. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book and series to everyone. They are really fantastic stories to enjoy from start to finish.

The Misadventures series continues with two unlikely people becoming roommates and together they might find more than that.
I loved Blake in this book. She had no filter and said exactly what she was thinking. Even though she has been through some tough times she is so strong and not willing to take any crap. The dynamic between her and Gavin is great. He loves her quirks and isn’t offended by her when she speaks her mind. They both are able to lean on each other and take a chance on something real for once.
Misadventures is right! Blake is a wild card if ever there was one. Her unpredictable behavior, wildly inappropriate mouth, and lack of filtering thoughts and words makes her unforgettable. Unforgettable in more ways than one.
Gavin isn't sure whether this happy dance for his despair is a good thing or a bad thing. One thing is certain, this is going to get interesting.
This sweet opposites attract story is a perfect side for your penis shaped latte foam.
This book had no head or tails and I simply couldn't get into it. Really, what the what?
I cannot believe I’m 10 books into this series and the momentum is still high. Normally at this point in any series, story-lines start to get stale, but I think maybe its because the different authors and collaborations. That’s what’s kept this series fresh for me. AND, I’ve gotten to try new author’s as well, like this author duo! It’s just been a win-win for me all around.
I loved Blake! She’s my people. Very direct. Knows what she wants and goes after it. She was funny and fun and a straight-shooter. Gavin was the complete opposite which made it that much more fun to read! The story comes off as maybe being a light-hearted friends to lovers journey, but it’s really much more. It has a lot of heart and #feels to it. There’s a back-story to Blake that will tug at your heart-strings. However, the story is still an overall humorous tone. It’s not angsty, just very well developed. Blake is who she is for a reason and I was pleasantly surprised at how the authors unfolded all that story without making it angst-filled. Well done.
