Found this book to be confusing and difficult to get into so I did not read it. Characters too young and silly for my taste. I think that this book is meant for a younger audience, my mistake in choosing it to review. I chose it because have read other books in this Misadventures series which were very good.

What was this? It’s a no for me.

Here I am with another unpopular opinion. This book didn’t do it for me in the slightest. I wanted the sexy and great reads that I came to expect in the Misadventures series and this sadly was not one of them.

This was told in third person POV which isn’t my favorite to read in so there’s that. The characters weren’t relatable and were quite bland if I’m being honest. I found Blake weird and rude, not cute and quirky and Gavin had no personality! And the story isn't much better, I couldn’t even remember key parts after I stop reading.

It goes without saying, but this was my least favorite of the Misadventures series. Will I read the next one? Of course, this just one just fell flat.

I recieved this book from netgalley and the publisher for an honest review.

I have never read anything by Elizabeth Hayley and it definitely will not be my last. It is well written and I could not put the book down. I loved the characters in this book.

Blake is a quirky and speaks her mind. Blake and Gavin are like they were made for one another and they balanced each other out. This is a must read since it gives you real problems and a little heart all in one.

Misadventures with My Roommate (Misadventures, #10) by Elizabeth Hayley ... I will admit this book took a little while before I got into it.....previewing through #NetGalley... I would give it 4 1/2 stars... Gavin comes from a well to do family who wants him to get a degree and a prestigious job... he want to be a photographer ...Blake has had a rough bringing up..this is all I'll say about that without giving away the story... she has no filter and once Gavin ( and you the reader) get used to it ...it is endearing they both work in a coffee shop and become roommates...This book has so many feels and laughs and sex...to get to the HEA....

Blake Monroe has the habit of blurting out whatever is on her mind including the fact she finds her co-worker, Gavin Gibson, to be hot. He isn’t quite sure what to make of her quirky ways but when he finds himself on the verge of homelessness he can’t refuse her offer of being her flatmate. He finds himself unable to resist her charm and starts to believe he can succeed where his parents have always told him he would fail. I found this to be an endearing and enjoyable story. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I've read a couple of the Misadventures books and was totally wowed by them, so when I saw Misadventures with my Roommate available to request on Netgalley, I just couldn't resist!

I've never read anything by writing duo Elizabeth Hayley before, so I was excited to delve in!

To be honest? At first I wasn't sure about this book. I was a little put off by Blake's attitude and all round demeanour. BUT – and this is a big BUT! - that feeling didn't last for long (it went by the end of chapter 1 actually, lol)! After that, I couldn't help but fall in love with her quirkiness, wit, and ability to say whatever she was feeling without any regrets! She's just an all round awesome person!

And Gavin?! He's just adorable, understanding, and has all the time in the world for Blake - and that's something Blake isn't used to.

With both of them dealing with personal issues they end up being just the tonic that the other needs.

Gotta say, I absolutely loved this book. 5 shiny gold stars!

Misadventures with My Roommate by Elizabeth Hayley was such a fun, hot read. This next installment from the Misadventures Series was amazing! Looking forward to reading more books from both this series and this author.

Misadventures with My Roommate was a great book.. Blake is a little "eccentric" & goes through roommates quickly. She starts working at a coffee shop & meets Gavin who just happens to need a place to live asap. Gavin moves in with Blake. She has had a very troubled past & doesn't let too many people in. Gavin likes her & wants to know more about her. Blake finds herself opening up to Gavin the more they spend time together. Plus, Blake has no filter what so ever on her mouth. There were a lot of laughs & OMG moments throughout the book. I would recommend reading this book. I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC for Netgalley.

Blake Monroe is quirky and doesn't have a filter. She's overcome her craptastic childhood to be independent to the extreme. She doesn't let people in.
Gavin Gibson isn't living his dream to be a photographer. Slinging lattes and doing school photos are a means to pay the bills. When fate intervenes and it's Gavin and Blake together, as roommates.
There is clearly chemistry between the two. But is messing around with an almost stranger that you live and work with a good idea? Blake slowly let's her walls slip and Gavin is determined to keep her safe.

Blake has issues, nightmares and a problem with connections. But she is funny, quirky and sexually open. She goes through roommates like she goes through pizza! That is until Gavin, her cute co-worker loses his apartment due to his unfortunate roommate. Together in the same space things heat up as the two learn about each other. With Blake's issues and Gavin's parental problems they become more than they think they could and more than they dreamed.

I loved this "Misadventures" book by Elizabeth Hayley. I have read quite a few of the Misadventures series, but this one is a little different. There was a lot more angst, it tells a story of two people that are very different and how their young lives have affected who they are now.

Blake Monroe has had a hard time growing up, the daughter of two drug users, she had to pretty much take care of herself, and had been passed around to 14 different foster homes. A lot of things happened to her but she grew up and is very different than most women her age, she has no filter and blurts out exactly what she thinks which caused her to lose another roommate! She decides to get a male roommate hoping it will work out better for her.

Gavin Gibson is a young man who has always dreamed of becoming a photographer, to his wealthy parents horror. They send him to college and after the first year decides to switch his major to photography and his parents quit paying his tuition.

Both Blake and Gavin have two jobs, and they meet at the coffee shop where they both work. Gavin is asked by their boss to show Blake how to make the drinks on the menu and they both start talking and Blake is quick to offer Gavin a place to live as both their roommates have left them hanging.

Gavin knows Blake is different, but he likes her from the start, and Blake is very bold about everything including coming on to Gavin. These two may be as different as day and night but they share a few things in common, and Gavin can see Blake is bright, beautiful, but also moody and challenging to live with.

This is the story of these two people and what happens between them, it is a great story. There is a lot of angst, sadness, but a lot of hilarious moments that really add to the book and once I started reading it could not put it down. Can two people so different find a common ground? I suggest you read and find out!

I gave this book 5*****stars and plan to read more by Elizabeth Haley!

Misadventures with my roommate is part of the misadventures series but all books can be read as standalones!

I haven't herd of this author before, so I haven't read her obviously till now. I loved the blurb, and when I started this one it took me a long whiles to get in to the story, but if you love friends to lovers trope, you will love this one! its a quick easy read with some great sexy times, but not only that the author done really good at making you feel them feels!

Misadventures With My Roommate
Elizabeth Hayley
🌟🌟🌟⭐

This is my 1st misadventures stories in this series, and first Elizabeth Hayley book. It was a good read, but I find myself zoning out, I didn't really know why but honest reviews is how I work.

Blake (Yes a female), is quirky, weird, smart mouthed and the daughter every mother hopes their son never ends up with. She has zero filter, which I find somewhat endearing. She cracked me up with her quick wit and terrible humour, there is nothing of limits as far as she's concerned. Living a hard early life, has this young woman pushing away everyone, including her current roommate. Now yet another drama sets in with finding a new one.

Gavin is taken by everything that Blake has and does. She is his new co worker at the coffee shop and very soon to be roommate. These two play off each other, in a rollercoaster of emotions, laughs and serious steam. Together being roommates isn't enough, Gavin helps Blake open up and to enjoy life, while Blake and her crazy notions shows Gavin, living under his parents thumbs is not the way to get what you want.

This misadventures book had more angst, but this it had a happy ending. Blake is a lively character, and her journey is emotional.

This book was fun to read. Blake pretty much said what was on her mind and it took Gavin a minute to catch up. Blake had rough life growing up and it colored her perspective of things. It took a long time for her to open up to people, but Gavin seemed the exception. Her female room mates kept moving out because of her habits, but Gavin hung in there.. The story line had lots of twists and turns and kept me interested. It was fun to read and it was another good addition to the Misadventure series. I got this book from Netgalley for an honest review. I will post on amazon when it goes live

"You're acting crazy, even for you."

I've really been enjoying the Misadventures series. One of the things I love about them is that each book is like a sample of each author's writing, but more than that since it's a complete story. Just the perfect length for readers to try new authors that they might not have considered previously. The writing duo of Elizabeth Hayley is new to me, and I would have missed lots of laughs if I hadn't picked up Misadventures with My Roommate. I can honestly say that it was some of these author pairings that introduced me to some new favorites, putting them into my path and keeping them on my radar for future works.

It took me a minute to realize that Blake was a female name. But after getting to know her, nothing but unique would do for her. She is quirky, funny and unfiltered. She says exactly what she's thinking and doesn't care who hears her. I loved her immediately. Her inappropriate responses are priceless and very entertaining. Very few people in her life have stuck around to see the big heart beneath her big mouth. But that's their loss as far as I'm concerned, she's a treasure.

I honestly am not sure if Gavin is shy or not. I don't know if he would have eventually approached Blake on his own, but of course, she didn't give him the chance. She was very direct and in his face, but unlike most, her approach turned him on instead of off. Yes, she was joking most of the time, but there was an underlying honesty that was his for the taking if he was willing to reach out and accept what she was offering.

After going through so many female roommates that couldn't deal with her eccentric ways and blunt outbursts she was not even surprised when the latest one left. When her coworker Gavin mentioned his imminent homelessness she found herself offering him a room at her place. She figured she might have a better outcome with a male roommate since men seemed to have thicker skin and be less prone to emotions and tantrums. Worth a shot, right?

I must say I really enjoyed the banter between Gavin and Blake. He took her quirkiness in stride and seemed to actually enjoy her wit rather than be offended by it. Waiting for them to become more than friends was exciting and once they did, my focus moved to the mystery of Blake's past. It was obvious that she was broken and her strange but endearing behavior was her coping mechanism. As she and Gavin started spending more and more time together he wanted to know what she was running from, but she had some very high walls in place that she didn't want him to scale.

What started as a lighthearted romantic comedy took a turn and become an emotional journey that pulled my heartstrings. I was surprised that the authors were able to fit so much story into such a short book without the reader feeling a deficit. But, it's been proven time and again as each new installment is released in the Misadventures series. I'm looking forward to what they have for us next. The line forms here...

Once again Elizabeth did not disappoint. The story twisted and turned, held my attention from start to finish. It was a well - written story filled with plenty of emotion revolving around Blake/Gavin. Misadventures series are a must read for 2018.

This book was amazing. I love the characters so much. I love the fact there was some humor to it and the way Blake expressed a lot of situations in this book reminded me a lot of how I am. Lol. This was well written and a must read
