Everthing He Wants takes the bold step of a bi-racial couple as the main characters. I'm kind of sad to even write that this is a bold step, considering that this is 2018, but in my experience this is rare. Sure, we have secondary characters as bi-racial couples, but I can't think of too many times where the main characters are breaking the mold in this way.
I would have loved to see two likable people who respected each other. Elise definitely didn't or she would not have been after the scoop for her career. Sure, she says she wasn't going to publish it, but I found it off-putting that it was hinted at. I was a little dismayed to see all of the stereotypes that begin the book: "the athlete can't read", rich white woman, evil father, evil boss, a reporter out to get the scandal. The relationship seemed very casual but ends with an HEA, but I didn't find it believable.
As you can see from this review, this just wasn't the book for me.
