This was a brilliant read. As soon as I started reading this book I just knew I was going to love it. Highly recommended

I really enjoyed the author’s previous book It’s Always The Husband so was excited to read this and it did not disappoint - a real page turner.

This is my first Michele Campbell book and I enjoyed it. It was a good day academia thriller. The first 50% was nail biting, trying to guess who dies. After that is revealed the second half isn’t quite as thrilling but still good and it definitely held my interest.

I will absolutely look for more of her books to read. I’ve had this on my NetGalley to read since before it was released and I’m very glad I finally got to it.

I do t know what took me so long to start this one. It was such an amazing quick edge of your seat read that I was able to finish it in one sitting. I love books like that. This one is a highly recommended from me.

This author keeps you on the edge of your seat, and this book is no exception! The storyline will pull you in from the start and will keep you wanting more til the very end! Highly recommend!

I read this a while back, I got to read it before it was published through NetGalley. Twin girls attend a boarding school, but the author doesn’t tell you which sister. It’s up to you, the reader, to read on and find out what happened. The twins share their side of the story, and so does Sarah who is one of the leaders of the dorms.

Michelle Campbell is a must read.

“She Was the Quiet One” is a domestic thriller centered around a prestigious boarding school. That normally provides a background setting which excites me, but while this novel kept my interest, there were no real surprises in this thriller. The criminal suspect is exactly who you think it would be. I’ve read most of Michele Campbell’s books and this one is probably my least favorite. Solid, but not outstanding. 3 ⭐️ stars.

The beginning of this book was captivating. The end was less than I would have expected. Still an enjoyable book though, so I would recommend reading it!

The mean girl storyline is too much. Feels very cliche and predictable. Characters are over the top. The student/teacher drama is also cliche. I am not connecting with any part of the storyline.

The only redeeming part about the book was the police interview chapters but they weren’t enough to keep me invested.

I know my review is late, but I honestly thought I had submitted it. I am glad I write my reviews down. This book was good. Set in a prep school with the mean girl in the mix. Very good read. You find yourself caught up in the twin's experiences at the school. Although I thought the book was good, it did not wow me. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on my review.

This was a really, really great book that kept me interested throughout. Would definitely recommend this book.

This is the second book I've read of Michele's and I just loved it. My favorite part of this story was the relationship between Sarah and Heath -- Heath is a narcissistic and he has Sarah questioning everything about her life and marriage. When she begins to hear rumors of Heath sleeping around at the boarding school where they are teachers/dorm counselors, she doesn't want to believe it. Then someone turns up dead and she is really confused. I plan on reading her other two books right away.

I really liked this author and this book did not disappoint, it was an appropriately paced, page turner that will have me hooked throughout the story.

The book is about two sisters. While I don't have sisters, their relationship seemed real to me.
The book is about a posh boarding school. While I've never been to boarding school, I think the author hits the right note there too.
From page 1, you know that there is a murder. Sometimes I like a murder mystery/thriller that starts that way; sometimes I do not.
This book pulls you in with that murder.
The sisters ring true as people.
The new dorm heads, Sarah and Heath, less so.
Why is it that the husband is always gorgeous in these novels?
Beyond that, I was drawn in from the start. And I was not disappointed in the ending.
Yes, I would recommend "She Was the Quiet One." And I would read other books by this author.

She Was the Quiet One takes the reader into the complicated, diverse lives of twins Rose and Belle, whose looks and temperaments could not have been more different. When their mother dies, they move from California to live with their grandmother in New England. Upon their arrival, their grandmother decides to pack them off to Odell, a private school for entitled childish.. Rose loves it, believing she can reinvent herself. Belle, however, continues on the same path that she has always followed. Sadly, they grow further and further apart... And then, one of them dies. Excellent gothic style thriller. I loved It.

Lots of teenage angst in this book so if thats not your thing , you better pass on it. The book was told by lots of different characters. It was a very addictive story which made you not want to put the book down.
