I thought this was a great add to Helena's books and a stand a lone, but ties to the Shacking Up books... this book has Amie's brothers Pierce and Lawson and the summer in the Hamptons...
The books focus on Pierce and a budding romance with Rian Sutter a twin who is making a life in real estate with the dream of flipping houses. Rian's sister meets Pierce after a hit and run in the parking lot... Pierce not found of her behavior meets back up with her, or so he thinks and the sparks fly from the first glance.
Rian's family history is an issue for her and her realtibhsips so a summer fling sounds like the right idea in her mind.... too bad Pierce has something different in mind... will there chemistry be enough for them to make a true go of it or will secretes and half truths impact their fate...
Hot, steamy and a GREAT summer read!
Such a phenomenal read. I love this author and books like this one just make me love her more. Fantastic story and just an all around amazing work. Would definitely recommend this.
If you are fan of Rom-Com Helena Hunting is the master, this contemporary romance has all the fun, quirky and steamy moments you love t oread.
Pierce is looking for what he really wants to do in life, the family business just doesn’t do it, then comes Rian and everything is turned.
This couple where so fun to read, the storyline got me reading all night long. I laugh and found myself wanting to read that one more chapter until I had to finish it.
I freaking LOVED this book!!! This couple was so great. Chemistry, steamy, witty, funny, sexy, they had it all!! I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read another book by this author!!
I couldn’t put this book down once I started. Rian and her sister come from a broken past. They are doing their best to distance themselves from their past, yet keep somethings close to their heart. Pierce comes across as a typical rich New York lawyer, but there is so much more to him. Rian’s sister Marley has had an incident that leads to straight to Pierce. Once their worlds collide, their is no denying their chemistry. The push/ pull was great and the plot well executed. I highly recommend this book.
This was the first book from Helena Hunting that I have ever read. She did not disappoint! I love rom coms that aren’t too over the top and not too cheesy. I had many instances during this book where I laughed out loud! I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to enjoy a good laugh and appreciates when someone is fighting against what they want to end up getting it.
I Flipping Love You was another great read by Helena Hunting. Rian and her sister buy and sell houses to rich clients. They now have enough money to flip their own property, that is until Pierce starts taking every house from under them. I really enjoyed reading Pierce and Rian's story and can't wait to read more by Helena Hunting.
Rian Sutter (pronounced like Ryan) and her sister Marley are out shopping for groceries when she meets an undeniably attractive man in a sharp suit, a man who seems to be tracking her throughout the store, a man who confronts her and begins yelling at her? In one of several deliciously funny mix-ups, this story starts off with a case of mistaken identity. Rian and her sister are hard-working entrepreneurs, trying to escape their family's sordid past, and rebuild a life while selling and flipping homes in the Hamptons. They are finally beginning to do well and can start working towards some of their long-term goals, barring that little grocery store incident. But fate isn't done with Rian and Mr. Sharp Suit, Pierce, because he and his brother are buying, renovating, and renting homes in the area as well. As the Summer heats up, so does the chemistry between Rian and Pierce, but after being abandoned on numerous occasions by those she loves, Rian cannot open up to Pierce in the ways he wants her to. One thing's for sure, they have crazy chemistry that is obvious to anyone who sees them. You'll find yourself rooting for them all the way to the end.
I Flipping Love You is the third title in Helena Hunting's Shacking Up series. While you don't need to have read the first two books for this one to make sense, I understand based on reading the synopsis that at least one of the characters that appears in I Flipping Love You appears as a protagonist in the previous book. I have not read the other two and still managed to thoroughly enjoy this book. My one complaint about this book will barely register for most romance fans, but I'll state it anyway: there's not enough time spent in the book talking about flipping houses. That is supposedly a major point of the plot, it's even in the title, but there are no specific details in the book that lend weight to that. It reads as though someone who doesn't know much about construction set a book in that world.
That being said, the plot was still enjoyable. It moves at a decent pace and tension builds throughout. You won't find much in the way of surprises in the plot, with every revelation being teased a few chapters before, but the characters are so adorably flawed that you still anticipate how they are going to react to each other when it all hits the fan. Pierce is definitely the dream romance character: extremely attractive, wealthy, and a good guy, while Rian is also attractive (but unaware of it), determined, and sassy. You'll love them both as they come to love each other. This book was funny, a little sad at times, and constantly steamy. A winning combination as far as I'm concerned.
This was an amazing book! I laughed, and loved, and flipped those pages. Such a great story, and the characters are so real, it's like you are a part of the story, and only a wonderful storyteller can put you there. This is a sure fire hit.
Great addition for this series! I love the whole house flipping aspect of the story (I adore most house flipping/renovating HGTV shows), so that just helped this be a fun book to read. The chemistry between Rian and Pierce is insanely hot, and the humor throughout the story makes this an easy, fun and entertaining book.
I Flipping Love You was an enjoyable romcom read from Helena Hunting. Rian is a real estate agent/flipper living in the Hampton’s with her sister, and trying to move on from a scandalous past that she didn’t choose. Pierce is a patent lawyer in NYC who is taking a somewhat forced break in the Hampton’s for the summer. Buying and fixing up rental properties along the beach and living with his younger brother. All it takes is a fender bender, a hit and run, and a case of mistaken identity to bring these two together.
What these two have can only be described as constant kismet. Even though one party is reluctant to admit it there is chemistry, attraction, and tension between them. Combined with the fact they can’t stop running into each other... how can they avoid the inevitable? I enjoyed Rian and Pierce’s relationship. While all the characters in this book can be over the top at times, it works for me because this is a romcom. I also felt like the angst/drama in this book was reasonable and handled well by the characters. The banter was pretty funny. The naughty bits were sweet and steamy. It’s just a fun, easy, and enjoyable read
This book was hilarious!! Couldn’t put it down. Wouldn’t expect anything less from Helena Hunting.
This is a fast, fun ,sexy type read. I enjoyed reading Rian and Pierce's story. I often read romantic suspense and mystery but this was a perfect book just to read and enjoy. Perfect summer beach read. I enjoyed it and definitely recommend it.
Flipping loved it! The banter between Rian (with an i) and Pierce was so enjoyable that I couldn't wait to see what they were up to next and was never disappointed. Really hoping there's a next novel with Marley and/or Lawton.
I absolutely LOVED this book! We always have the home renovation shows on in my house so this book was right up my alley. Rian and Pierce were fantastic characters and the chemistry they had was expressed very well. This is a book that is easy to get lost in so it might not be a good idea to start it when you’re at work (not that I’m speaking from experience or anything....lol!) if you plan to get any work done that day. Highly recommend this one!
Helena Hunting delivers another unput-downable read with I Flipping Love You! The timing and pace, the comedic relief, the angsty undertones, strong & independent heroine, sexy & dominant hero....it had everything you've come to expect from her work.
We first met Pierce in Hooking Up as his sister's lawyer, so it was a surprise to see him be so casual and loose. That surprise was quickly replaced with appreciation once I got to see his playfulness, sweetness and oh, so much more of his sexiness!
I loved the circumstances behind their meeting and how Pierce wore Rian down; his persistence was rewarded with her stubbornness and argumentative attitude everytime. It was so much fun to watch him break down each and every wall she threw up...the man was just so swoony! I was absolutely giddy while reading the epilogue and hope we get more, even if it is just in passing, of these two. ❤
“Because you look like you’re good at breaking hearts and bed frames.”
I Flipping Love You is a fast paced romantic story about Rian Sutter and Pierce Whitfield. They both work in real estate and as the synopsis in goodreads tells us they are sometimes both desiring the same households so they become enemies. This isn't extremely true, which takes away from the whole "enemy to lovers" trope, they are actually pretty respectful forwards each other and the real 'real estate' enemy is Pierce's brother not him.
I went into this story expecting nothing and I went out of it with a sweet feeling nothing more. I didn't fall head over heels in love with the characters, and the story is a bit predictable. Maybe just maybe I am starting to loose my love for this kind of stories because lately I have read a few and none of them have really captivated me. However there are some things I really enjoyed from this book even though it never surprised me or left me crying.
I really enjoyed Rian and Pierce in the beginning chapters when they were getting to know each other and bumping into each other all the time. I absolutely adored the writing style of the author in these parts because they scenes where genuinely funny, which is not something I say a lot about the books I read. I also enjoyed the story of Rian and her parents, maybe expanding that aspect of the story would have lead to more surprising twists rather than spending so much time talking about real estate which I usually skimmed through because I really didn't understand the real estate talk.
Pierce is an incredible main character, although sometimes I found him kind of lacking in some aspects there is not one moment that I would swoon over him or fall in love with him. He was incredible yes but maybe his role wasn't the best one for me.
The story does leave you smiling all over the place and rooting for their love, but it wasn't extraordinary for me just another romance to add to the pile of summer reads.
* I received this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review *
--- 3 stars ---
Rian and her twin sister are in real estate. They are working to flip houses in the Hamptons until they have enough money to buy their grandmother's mansion, which their parents sold.
Pierce is a lawyer, but is taking the summer off to help his brother flip houses in the Hamptons.
Rian and Pierce’s first meeting doesn’t go great, especially when he accuses her of something that she didn’t do and she does the same to him. Rian is a bit stubborn and she is not looking for anything serious, but Pierce is not giving up on her and hopes that she gives in to his charm. What happens when they both become interested in the same houses?
I really liked Rain and Pierce from the very beginning and I found myself not wanting to put it down.
Great beach read! This one gets 4.5 stars! I enjoyed the element of real estate and flipping houses., along with the humor. I have not read the first two books in this series but it can be a stand alone novel. Thanks to St. Martin’s Press and to NetGalley for providing me a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
Fun read, kinda refreshing spin on a turf war with a lot of sexual tension. Some things didn't mesh for me with some of the supporting characters, but all in all it was a good read.
