What a fun supernatural & suspenseful tale! While reading this novel, I was captivated by the plot and the characters. Penelope has her issues but she is relatable. The world building was well thought out and I absolutely loved the setting of Greenville, South Carolina. South Carolinian here, y’all! The cover is not impressive but for the most part this is a great novel that I would recommend to YA Supernatural Readers!

Great start to a series. Good introduction to the story and characters. Interesting set of characters that I can't wait to read more about in the next book.

I love the story of Penny Dreadful. I am always excited when there is a new volume released. This one was no different. I loved the story line. It is hard to give any details on this without giving spoilers of past events.

I highly recommend this. If you live on the darker side and love some dark drama. This is for you.

I am going to be devastated if the author doesn't make this a series - very much intrigued by all of characters and want to read more about them!

I am obsessed. This book was crazy good and I couldn't put it down.

Penelope Drake is a Private Investigator working in the American South during the 1970s. She’s contacted by a friend of her, now deceased, father. What follows is a story that contains a mixture of standard investigation and the supernatural, possessed objects and great characters including a recluse who restores old books.

This is a difficult book to review, in part because it is so short and underdeveloped. The characters are well drawn and interesting, but the plot is messy and completely disintegrates by the end. The characters and ideas had so much potential; it’s a great shame that more time wasn’t taken with their development.

I enjoyed this paranormal thriller. From the very beginning I was roped in and couldn’t put it down. I didn’t want it to end.

Really intriguing and thrilling paranormal book! I loved the characters and would definitely like to know more about them as I felt the book could of kept going.
