The last book of the series finds Zara trying to deal with being the Pixie Queen and still save her relationship with Nick. Nick can't seem to cope with the fact she's a pixie and then there's the pesky feelings she's beginning to have for Astley. As Zara and the gang uncover more about the prophecy that's supposed to bring about the end of humankind, Zara realizes that she may have to make the ultimate sacrifice to save her friends. A quick read filled with a bit of silliness but heavy on decisions and heart wrenching moments.
This series has a soft spot in my heart. I read Need as soon as it came out (end of 2009?), and I remember having an amazing time reading about Zara and her obsession with phobias.
The next two books were not anywhere nearly as good as the first one; I was tempted to DNF them, but carried on motivated by the prospect of reading the finale.
Endure was a vast improvement over Captivate and Entice; some of Need's magic was lost, and it really wasn't as good. But I was very satisfied with the ending and in spite of the quality taking a nosedive, I', very fond of the series. The 5 stars? Happy nostalgia: one of my favorite book's story (Need) came to an end.
