This book is supposedly about proving that the myths and legends about ancient races of Giants are real. The book is divided by region and the author presents the legends and evidence that the legends are real. However the author overshadows any evidence by his sarcastic comments and personal bias. The repetition was really tiresome. By the end of the book I was just skimming. If you are looking to read a serious scholarly book this is not it.
I was really disappointed by this. I went into it expecting a lot but i did not feel like this delivered as i felt that even though it was meant to be about the science and myth behind the unknown elements of life, it did not have a fully convincing argument. I think part of the issue was my own expectations that affected my judgement of it.
DNF - because I haven't been able to read it before the archive date since it was to small to read the PDF on my phone. (I tried but couldn't enlarge it properly) Sorry!
Giants abound in myth and legend and it is entertaining to imagine that these may be based on lost races or alien visitors however too often this book spoils its impact by treating hearsay and rumour as facts and evidence. Ancient Giants is short on corroborated evidence and scientific research and long on wild speculation and conspiracy theory.
