This story. I was not prepared for the emotions this romance wrought from me. Ty's been content for years after the love of his life walked away. He put all he had into the club and eventually became the VP of the Bastards. He thought life was good; until Jasmine walks back in to town in a whirlwind. What are the odds that she runs into him within hours of being back? Jasmine knows why she had to walk away when she was a teenager, but seeing Ty is breaking her heart all over again. Even with the pain they've been through, one night is all they're willing to give to settle old flames.

Phillips does a wonderful job truly disguising the past from readers. Jasmine couldn't take the pain of her youth when she was with Ty. His family ridiculed her and her mother and sometimes a final straw is all it takes to change the course of someone's life. Ty was much sweeter than I anticipated. Don't get it wrong, he's dirty, filthy fun too. But the man has a heart when it comes to the right moments. This romance is fully packed with heavy moments on top of perfectly weaved misconceptions of the past. I couldn't put it down and had to now the truth about Jasmine and Ty. In the end, Phillips had me crying for all that Jasmine and Ty had lost and at the bright hope of a future they could have. You'll definitely want to add this spectacular 5 star read to your list!

This was an excellent steamy second chance romance. Ty and Jas have some amazing chemistry and even after ten years it sparks intense and bright. Ty should want to run hard and fast away from Jas after she shredded him years before yet the pull to her is way too strong to ignore. Maybe one week of debauchery will finally burn her out of his system. Yeah right!

A great read and a book I would recommend.

Wow! I really, really enjoyed the heck out of this book!

Jasmine left L.A. ten years ago and has now returned due to her mother’s death. When she runs into Ty her heart yearns to reach out to him but it’s obvious that he’s still carrying anger over their past. Both of them recognize that they need closure and after an intense, sexy night, they agree to continue their one night stand on through the week until Jas has to leave again.

Ty never fully understood how Jas was able to walk away from what they had. He understood the premise of it, and the reason she gave, but there was always something that niggled at the back of his mind. Hurt and anger obliterated those thoughts until pieces of the puzzle begin to fall back into place with her return.

I totally got why Ty felt the way he did. Thinking their love was a forever kind of thing, he was heartbroken when Jas left. With her in his life again, even temporarily, he’s struggling to remember the past and that what he’s feeling now may not be what she’s feeling. Jas was completely broken when she left and there’s so many layers as to why she made the decision she did.

This is a well-paced read, very well written, and sprinkled with a bit of angst but not the kind to knock you on your bottom. The MC lifestyle isn’t predominate but plays as a backdrop well out of sight. It was a very enjoyable read with plenty of steam and a hero that you will love to watch rise up from his past to secure the girl of his future.

Hot cover alert.....yowsa.!!!

Aptly named book, burned...and the blurb follows the book so if it catches your eye then relax. Amazing book, standalone but no less hot as heck read. I was burned just reading the pages. I loved it. Jas and Ty had a high school sweetheart romance that due to the Bastards MC broke them apart. Now it's ten years later and they are no longer kids but the attraction has failed to go away. It was a quick read for me but my eyes were glued to the pages and I give it five stars for entertainment! I enjoyed the characters, the banter, and the scenes between the two main characters. Great author and great read.

3 1/2 Stars. Ok read. Not much MC action.

I have to say though Ty did something I have always wanted the hero to do when the MC they belong to does something so grievous against him. I really wanted that to happen in the last MC book I read and it didn’t happen. That alone boosted my rating of the book. Jas sticks to her guns and even after several great lays she still keeps her head on her shoulders and doesn’t cave to Ty. Now that never happens in a MC book. Usually the heroine gets sex and she forgets everything. Again another boost for the rating.

There is a ton of sex so be prepared. I love how the characters can’t talk about the past, but they sure can get it on.

Decent read. Received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

"It wasn't until she'd gone I realized how much of me she'd taken with her."

It was my MC Romance addiction that had me taking a chance on a new-to-me author when I started the Viking Bastards MC series. I enjoyed the first two books, but I must say that this one is by far my favorite. It went much deeper and pulled harder, touching my emotions and leaving a lasting impression.

The author set me up in the synopsis, teasing me with hints of a secret just waiting for me to uncover. She pulled my strings, intriguing me and keeping me on the edge of my seat. She made me fall for Ty's lost love right along with him. I mourned their broken hearts as their teenage love story was unfolded for me through their memories. I mentally yearned for all their broken pieces to be restored and for them to open up and share the parts of themselves they'd been withholding from each other.

I hoped for her one week visit to turn into forever. And my-oh-my what a week it was! Let me tell you, it's amazing what ten years of unfulfilled feelings and unanswered questions will do for a couple once they are finally reunited. They told themselves and each other it was just sex. They just needed closure and to get each other out of their systems. Yeah, right. Like the explosive passion between them could ever be confused with 'just sex'. Let me tell you, I wasn't confused, not even for a second. But I might have needed to re-read a few scenes just to make sure. (wink-wink 😉)

I don't know if Burned was the final installment in the series or not. But I can tell you that the author won me over with this one. No more riding the fence for me. The line forms here...

I loved this biker romance full of second chances, regrets and a lot of hot sex. Ty is the VP of the Viking Bastards MC and lives every bit of the biker life. His once love Jas, has returned to bury her mother so now she and Ty have a chance to settle the past. Ty had no idea at all what sent Jas running to live with her father in Florida all those years ago. Was it because of something they lost or will Ty find out it was something much darker than he could even fathom? I loved this just as much as the first two books in this series.

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley for a freely given and honest review.

I had trouble connecting to the story and the characters. I'm not sure if the passion was overtaking any depth to the story but I just didn't feel personally invested at all and got bored.

My first book of Ms. Phillips and now I need to go back and read the others and future books in this series. This was a quick read that had me smiling at the end. Ty and Jas both needed to grow from basically children to adults and I loved how Ty did just that. On the other hand, I thought that Jas’s profession was a little odd considering how she acted, especially not being honest about what happened to her. But, I really liked how the story ended for them. They are a very cute couple.

I loved the two previous Viking MC books, wildly good and this one. Just really fell short for me.
The plot was good, although obvious is takes place some years after the last book, but that's not a problem. For me it was the two MC's, Ty and Jasmine.
Jasmine fled California with her young life wanting nothing to do with The Vikings, or anyone associated with them. She moved to Florida with her Dad. Her mother still stripping and still an outsider to the club and the two had little contact over the 10 years. Jasmine is back after receiving word her Mother has passed away. She's there to clean out the apartment. This rundown apartment was her life until she left, leaving Ty behind. Ty and Jas were in love form a young age. It sounds silly if you think about it but in the more serious moments in the book and Ty wasn't running as mouth, you got it. From Jas too. The argument was always she was too young, truth was his family and the club said without words she didn't fit into their lifestyle. She wasn't club material. Even her slutty mother wasn't. When Jas runs into Ty outside the last place her mom worked before she died, he's a real a0hole to her, all swagger and mouth and damn he was disappointing. He also happens to own the club her mom was working at, she needed a job and he gave her a cleaning job. She was Jas's mom. He couldn't turn her away.
So he's now VP of the Viking's, his friends are all Vikings and he and Jas have come to a semi-truce. Jas wants closure and one night of no strings sex, he wants the same. Closure for these two mean totally different things. So one night turns into a week, he helps her box up her mothers stuff. Old feelings surface. Neither of them can go there. Jasmine's bad memories surface with frequency and she just wants to go back home. She has a life there, now an attorney who works pro bono for domestic violence, rape and etc. Ty is a little surprised when he finds out what she does for a living. Which he doesn't bother asking her until 75%.
This book was mostly Ty running his mouth either aloud or in his head. He's all over the place with Jasmine, the basic foundation for her leaving was there, but wasn't complete enough. Jasmine is a way was just an accoutrement to the story. The secondaries are limp and their women even more so.
I was really looking forward to this one because I love the series and love Christina's books, but sad to say it didn't measure up to the two previous books. If you haven't read them, read them. You'll love them.
Moving along. Looking forward to the next book,

Burned brings us Jasmine and Tyler as they get a second chance together, heating up the sheets and working through their past with pain and secrets between the two of them. Even after ten years, there's unfinished between them that needs to find closure. A week hardly seems like enough time.
I have to admit to being hesitant about Burned when I started reading it. The inevitable clash between Jas and Ty upon reconnecting. The pain. The past. The regret. I was afraid it would be all angry sex and lots of pain and hurt hurled between the two of them, but fortunately, it was not like that at all. Yes, there was pain and hurt, but Ms Phillips handled it deftly and focused more on their unquenchable chemistry and attraction, and their heartache and regret, because underneath it all Jas and Ty never stopped loving each other, which of course is the entire point of a second chance romance.
I liked both Jas and Ty. They were both dealing with their past in different ways. Ty became a guy who never had a relationship and only slept around with women with no commitment. Unlike the previous generation of MC members, Ty was legit and ran a clean business. He was also honorable and loyal, but he never stopped loving Jas. However, being in an MC meant putting the MC and his brothers before his woman and that was partly what drove them apart. Ty needed to see that Jas was more important than the MC and put her first.
Jas is a brave and determined woman. She has to be given what happened to her which sent her fleeing LA and Ty. It was never Ty's fault that she left but he never knew that. Only that she left. She had secrets of what happened to her which she kept from him. For that, I felt bad for Ty because he never got a chance to fix things and they lost so many years together because of it. That made me sad, the lost years. I love the fact that Jas has reinvented herself and come out of her ordeal a strong woman. I applauded her for finally standing up for herself against the people who looked down on her and treated her poorly.
It surprised me how much I enjoyed this story once I got into it, but if there are other stories to this series, please no more second chance romances.

3.5 Stars A second chance romance, Burned is the third book in the Viking Bastards MC series. I liked this story, Ty and Jas were well suited characters and the story was enjoyable.

Review: ♥ ♥ ♥

Burned is a second chance romance more than an alpha strong mc novel. The storyline was ok but not my favourite.

Jas and Ty dated when they were younger. They were both linked to the MC club and it was always a part of them. Now ten years later Jas has a life away from the club. She has a good job and Ty is a distant memory. Unfortunately, her mother has just passed and even though they weren't close Jas has returned to her childhood home to sort her assets. Jas and Ty always had a connection. The second she's back in town these two are in contact. It doesn't take long for things to heat up and they are back between the sheets. The past is full of secrets and these two just need to work it out.

3 stars out of 5. This was ok. I was expecting Ty to be more alpha. This book felt a little too straight into it. If you are a fan of second chance romances this will be for you. I would have preferred more sexual tension.

Jasmine (Jas) is back in LA after she left 10 years ago, this is to sort out her mom's affairs after her mom's passing. This is also where she left Tyson (Ty) who was her whole world at one time. He's the president's son from the Vikings Bastards MC and he's their VP.

When they see each other for the first time after so long they felt like strangers towards each other. So much time has past and Ty is struggling with the reason why she left he just could not figure it out. He thought if was because of a tragic loss they both suffered but that was not the main reason. This was not your average MC Romance with a lot of action and the MC business, no this book concentrate solely on the H and h which was different but good for me.

Anyway ......... While she was sorting out all her mom's things she and Ty decided to work on a closure before the had to go back to Florida to her current life as an Attorney.
OH BOY and did they work on that closure.

I was really shocked when I found out what happened to Jas to make her leave and let me tell you it was really bad and I first thought what could be so bad but then "that" happened and I understood.

The question now is ........ What will Ty do when he finds out?
Sorry but here is where I am going to stop. You just have to read this book to find out.

This was a very short read, I normally do not do short reads but this was worth it.

Happy reading

My book pick this week was Burned by Christina Phillips. Isn't the cover drop dead gorgeous? This is book 3 in the Viking Bastards series, and it can be read alone.

I loved Payback (book 2) though I'm afraid I didn't like this one as much. Ty and Jas are likable enough but there was something missing and I couldn't put my finger on it.

Ty has never forgiven Jasmine for walking out on him ten years ago. He didn't understand what drove her to up and leave without a backward glance, and now she's back.

Jas is back in town to settle a family matter. So much time has passed that she doesn't imagine even for a second that she'd come face to face with Ty, the man she'll never forget. She loves him just the same if not more than she did ten years ago, but the events of a horrifying night she survived won't let her be with him.

The problem is he doesn't expect to fall in love with Jas again. Jas is willing to spend a week with him so long as they can walk away as friends at the end.

Overall, this was what I'd call a medium length novel with some pretty hot sexy times, but again the story as a whole didn't grab me the same as the previous book in the series. I thought Ty's mom was vile and his dad came across as weak when the truth about what happened to Jas came to light. In my opinion, Jas was a bit weak too when it came to facing Ty's family, especially his mom. Jas is supposed to be this tough civil rights lawyer, so I'd expected to see some of that attitude when she confronted Ty's mom, but it wasn't to be. To wrap it up, this was still a good read that Christina Phillips fans will enjoy.

This is my first book by this author. It’s also the third in a series. I didn’t catch that when I requested it but I didn’t find it hard to follow with the characters in the last two books. To me, there really wasn’t much going on except for copious amounts of sex. Now I love me some good sexy times but I felt there was more sex than story. It was almost like whoop, there they go again....and again. Wait, they’re back at it, again. Besides all the getting down, the story was just okay. Nothing over the top or really any sort of hard core drama. It only took me a couple of hours to read it.

3.5*

Having enjoyed the previous two books Hooked and Payback I was looking forward to this one.

Now I have to say books like this where one party (usually the female) disappear only to return years later are not really my favourite. Simply because for me anyway the reason for the departure when it comes out is generally a disappointment and doesn’t warrant the result.
That’s not the case here.
I felt the reason considering the circumstances and her age fully justified the hasty departure. So if like me you’re stressing while reading don’t.

Now I liked both Ty and Jas and I really wanted things to work out between them.
So why only 3 - 3.5*?
In a word.
Sex.
There was just too much of it the balance of the book was out. Now it’s a hard call because sex is what brings them together, keeps them coming back for more and what really works between them. So yes there’s going to be a lot of it but for me there was too much.
From the reviews I’ve seen I’m in the minority and I am a fussy reader so it could just be me.

Oh i love this story about Ty and Jas. I love to read a book about second chance at love, and the passion between Ty and Jas is scorching and hot. This is he third book in this series, and I can’t wait to read the first two books of the Mc brothers and their girls.

I was given this book from netgalley to give an honest review, and it’s mine opinion alone.

I love a good MC romance and this is definitely one. Ty and Jas split ten years ago when they were teens due to family issues. Now Jas is back for her mother's memorial service and to clean out her house. All the memories come back both bad and good. Ty is still pissed about the way she just left and she wants closure so they decide to spend some time together. Even though Ty just wants to use her sexually he can't help but remember how close they used to be. Jas knows she'll never be first since the MC always comes first but for a few days she decides this will be enough. Red hot and sweet MC romance.

Burned by Christina Phillips is the third book in her Viking Bastards MC series. I have to say this was a great second chance at love for both Ty and Jas and I really enjoyed it. Well worth all 5 stars I've given it.

Ty Jenson loved Jasmine O'Brien since they were teenagers but when Jas decided to leave LA and go live with her father in Florida he didn't know if he could survive the loss of the only girl he's ever loved. There is a back story that will finally understand why everything happened and why she's back in town to settle her late mother's estate. But Ty is now VP of the MC and a successful owner of the Hammer club and can have any girl he wants, his heart has always belonged to Jas. But can they only be together for a week? Will they be able to part without broken hearts?

Jasmine O'Brien has returned to LA just for a week to settle her mother's estate and she must return back to Florida to her job as a Civil Rights Lawyer. But when she finds a pay stub from Hammer she goes to the club to find out what he mom was working as. She meets Ty again and its fireworks again like when they were teens. But even though the sex is good can they get beyond their past especially why she left and make a new life together again? Can Ty once he learns Jas's secret be able to forgive his mother and brother?

For a second chance at love this was a fantastic one and hopefully there will be a few more in Ms. Phillips Viking Bastards MC series in the future. But I truly love and enjoye
