An enjoyable short read dealing with a very difficult subject matter, but in a way that gives hope to others that there is life after death for the person left behind. Thanks for sharing your memoir.
I’ve read this book several years ago and I thought that I had given my review. It seems I didn’t.
Moving from Grief in Cornwall by Barbara M. Webb is a touching memory of her experience caring for her terminally ill husband and her journey from grief to self-fulfillment as we follow her from Cornwall to South America and share her new experiences.
This book was raw and well written. The author discusses caring for her terminally ill husband and the change in her life after his death when she mourned him. The honesty from the author and her love of her husband came through in her writing.
When husband Richard was diagnosed with terminal cancer, Barbara wanted to remain strong for him and help keep him with her at home as long as possible, one of Richard’s wishes. She was able to achieve this and he only went to hospice close to the end.
This book is a very moving account on the short time, around 18 months, from diagnosis to death. Barbara writes about her experiences in dealing with the diagnosis and the treatment, dealing with the grief and loss she felt and also what he felt. It is a lovely memoir, an emotional journey. A well written memoir from a women coping with loss and grief and will to share her experience with the world. Highly recommended for all, just to have a small insight into the world of a couple facing a terminal illness.
