This was a new author for me and it was the cover that drew me in. Unfortunately, the writing wasn't for me. The dialogue put me in mind of a Dragnet or Men In Black with no humor. Nothing was wrong with the overall story. I couldn't connect to any of the characters. I will try another by this author but not this series. I received an ebook at no charge for which I voluntarily provided an honest review.
Demon Tracker is an action packed. The interaction between the characters adds a sense of validity that makes them seem very real. Combine that with the suspense, and fasted paced flow of the story, it leaves you on the edge of your seat. I was personally drawn into the mystery and really got into the heads of the characters.
I was riveted by the graphic details, suspense, and action. The characters interact as friends, which I think adds an element of humanity the reader can relate to. This story is well defined with a suspenseful plot. I couldn’t put it down. Absolutely a great read and can't wait to get the third book.
I did not really enjoy this book. I found it to be quite sexist and the language used was too simplistic and sparse.
My thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
This book was such a fun, fast paced, action packed novel. I loved every character from the beginning of this story. This is the first book I have read in the series and I thought the author did a great job describing and getting me up to date in this book.I am now ready and excited to read book one. Thank you for allowing me to read this and write about it.
I found this book a bit difficult to engage in and I'm not sure if reading the first book would have helped. The general idea is good and that is what caught my eye, but the content seemed to need something more...
I accidentally clicked on this one before realizing I'd already read it. My review was posted on my blog August 9, 2017 at http://mommasaystoreadornottoread.blogspot.com/2017/08/book-review-demon-tracker-by-mary.html
I'm also including that review here.
Book two in the Divine Justice series introduces Zale. He's tough, sexy, compassionate, and determined. Oh, and did I mention that he's a werewolf? Yep, a sexy werewolf who hunts down rogue vampires. Zale certainly doesn't trust the vampires (with good reason), but now it looks like he's going to have to work with them to prevent more bloodshed by the demons, which, in turn, protects the humans. So, the vampires need the werewolves, the humans need the vampires, and everybody needs the demons to be gone. (That's all the spoiler you get!)
The Divine Justice world gets a little bigger with the introduction of the UoJ and we learn a bit more about each race and their role in society - and they do have roles. They work, have friends and family, go out for a drink, etc - perfectly normal things that we all do, only behind that normalcy lies supernatural beings that live on blood, or shift into a werewolf, or maybe even cast a spell or two. That's the thing about these characters, as you read, you can picture these "normal" people passing you on the street or even living next door. They're all interesting in their own right, even the annoying Ray with his complaining and prejudices.
Overall, Demon Tracker is witty, engaging, loaded with action and suspense, and absolutely unputdownable!
This time we get to know another main character - Zale, he is a werewolf that works for The Union of Justice (some kind of the police, that deals with bad vampires).
Why Zale hates vampires? What had happened in his past - will he manage to get over it?
Add to it demons killing a lot of vampires and outraged society - there will be a lot going on here.
For book three: will Zale and Anna work together in order to protect vampires and humanity? Join them in next book - I can't wait to discover jest story in this Universum.
This book succeeds in getting you riled up as the lead, Zale, in getting to the root cause of the sudden torture and murder of vampires in his city. He's a member of the Union of Justice and as a werewolf, his job is to hunt down and kill vampires who kill humans based on some association law that had been passed.
So, when body parts of vampires start showing up all over the city, he finds that he's got to work together with the same people he doesn't trust and that he's hired to hunt. I like the appeal of the book's cover and Zale did give off an intense approach to his work that kept me reading but aside from his mission, I did not connect as much as I wished with the descriptions given of scenes and of Zale's personality. His charm oozed in his conversation but with the description, it felt like often times the author was trying to sell his swoon-worthy looks but fell short. Thank you NetGalley for the eARC.
