So I have to admit I had this in my to read pile for a little bit and I also have to admit I had let some of the previous reviews taint my willingness to read it, some of them were pretty harsh with Mia and some just didn't care for the book, well I am happy to say I read and didn't agree with those. I personally have been thinking more and more about reading books from Jennifer Probst, there were a couple of blurbs from some of her books that intrigued me yet this is her first book that I have read and I want to knock myself out I want more of her books now, I enjoyed this book. I liked Mia and understood her, I loved Ethan and also felt for him and was so happy when they got together. This book was good, it was heartwarming and I can't wait to read more of this family! Enjoy!

This book was so good and had me laughing throughout and even shed a few tears which means it is a winner in my book! Mia is a PR powerhouse in Manhattan working with her biggest client to date, the future mayor or New York City when his daughter is convicted of vandalism and sentenced to community service in the country and he wants to send Mia to stay with her because he trusts her. Good premise through the daughter is 19 not 9 (even though dad treats her more like she is 9). Mia is not pleased to end up in the country and it is hilarious watching her adapt. Ethan has come home after being injured on his last mission and even though he left the farm years before because it is not where he wanted to be, this is where he needs to be now. The farm is slowly helping him heal and when he is put in charge of Chloe's community service he gets Mia too. Oh, these two set off all sorts of sparks and the chemistry explodes off the pages! Every moment of this story is beautifully told and watching these two come together and learn to exist in each other's space is intriguing and special. From the horses to the other assorted kookie animals this one is a treat! I definitely recommend this one and look forward to the next in the series!

I received The Start of Something Good written by Jennifer Probst from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. This is the first book in her new series, Stay and the first time I have ever read anything by Jennifer Probst. And, I can't help buy be excited for book 2.
Ethan Bishop returns home after being injured as a Special Forces paratrooper with PTSD. Conflicted and withdrawn, he struggles for socializing and day to day interactions. Mia Thrush is a Manhattan PR with big ambitions. Ordered to the country horse farm to "keep an eye on" and manage a client's teenage daughter, she clashes with Ethan at first, but, as time continues, they grow closer together. However, Mia has to return to the big city and Ethan is still struggling with panic attacks and nightmares, Can they come together for the HEA?
This was a wonderful first read for me from Jennifer Probst. I loved the conflict between the two characters and later the steam of both characters. The fact that she wrote Mia out of her element of the Big City in a small town and made Mia grow and evolve to be more laid back. I have to admit, at the beginning, I was not sure about Mia as a heroine. So tightly wound up, she seemed ready to explode. I also enjoyed that Mia didn't just automatically fall in love with small town life and in fact, still enjoys the big city.
Ethan was a wonderful character right from the start. Probst showed the horrible side of PTSD that many face. The guilt a person with Special Forces must face as well as the cocky self esteem you have to create to accomplish death defying assignments must play havoc. Probst did a wonderful job of showing someone ok one day and an emotional wreck the next. A delightful read and a good book to introduce you to a new author. Steam factor and dirty talk is high. #TheStartofSomethingGood #NetGalley

Cute book. Interesting premise and well written. I spaced out a few times throughout the story where it seemed a bit slow, but finished and felt satisfied with the ending.

This romance story is about family, it is not centered on a couple but the happy and sad dynamics of families. We may have the romantic element from Ethan and Mia but if you look closely, it is more about Mia and Chloe’s interactions, Chloe and her father’s, Ethan with his siblings, and between Ethan and Chloe. It is mainly about how they support and take care of each other.

I expected Ethan and Mia to be romantically involved somewhere in the book. I saw that it is building and leading to that direction. But somehow, I noticed the story concentrating on family rapport. If you appreciate a non-romantic heavy romance book, this story is for you.

THE START OF SOMETHING GOOD was a pleasant read, not angsty and just a lovely undulating journey. This is a perfect summer, low-concentration read, one for the beach or vacation.

Mia is a rising PR agent, representing the to-be Mayor or NYC. She’s somewhat vain, obsessed with being rake-thin and has no work-life balance. The to-be Mayor sends her to a farm way out of state to keep an eye on his wayward daughter doing community service. Ethan is ex-military, a bit predictably psychologically and physically damaged, however, he cuts a desirable character. These two truly were opposites with a hate thing going on. The chemistry between these two was very well written.

With the setting being a farm, I have to say some of the highlights came from some animals, primarily Hei Hei, the chicken and Phoenix, the abused racehorse. Chloe, the Mayor’s daughter also made for a slowly growing warm fuzzy.

The story was essentially predictable but I didn’t mind from a book like this, a story that’s going where I think in general. It was a sweet, encapsulated read. The bonus is, you can see a good set up for the next couple.

I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.

In one word YES is how I would describe Jennifer Probst new series. The horseman a.k.a sexy Ethan, who one minute is insulting Mia, rude, arrogant and kissing her wickedly senseless raising her hormones to Mia making him go sex crazed. Not only is he bad but is making her lose all her sanity in a good way. Not only we have these two but we have tons of memorable characters from his sisters to even a chicken maybe with craziness and psychotic with attitude. Jennifer Probst has outdone herself in this book from Disney movies to even some romantic authors name dropping loved it. Great way to start this new series and cannot wait what is in store at this B & B.

The Start of Something Good by Jennifer Probst is the first book in the new Stay Series.
Welcome to Gardiner, Upstate New York.
Ethan Bishop is ex special Forces, now back in his home town and lives on the family farm. His siblings own a horse ranch and B&B. Ethan keeps his distance. He suffers from PTSD and loves his loneliness. ´til a faist redheaded Manhattan PR agent runs into him and needs rescuing- or not.
Mia Trush is a successful selfmade business woman. She knows exactly what she wants and that isn´t the rural life she´s forced to lead for the summer. And the annoying horsewhisperer doesn´t make it easier on her.
Their relationship starts out as a hate-hate one, over I really don´t want to like you, to I love you and I don´t want you gone. But Mia´s life and career is in the big city - and Ethan can´t stand to be there. An impossible situation.
The Start of Something Good is literally the Stasrt of Something Good. It was a great pleasure to read this wonderful story about second chances and love who conquers.
The characters are easily to connect with and the writing is great. I give 5 stars and can´t wait for the next book in the series.

Jennifer Probst does a great job creating interesting and complex characters. Mia instantly had my attention and the way her character grows throughout the story is really well done. Ethan is even more complex and watching him battle his own demons and slowly heal and grow felt very real. The story itself is also well written and I can't wait to learn more about the other secondary characters introduced in the book.

Mia, a PR consultant, prides herself in being the best and fighting for the underdog. In order to avenge a wrong perpetrated against her family, she has devoted her life to giving deserving people a second chance. Jonathan, a candidate and client who could make or break her career, comes to her with a favor.....watch over his daughter for the summer while she performs community service at a ranch. Ever the city girl, Mia refuses until Jonathan threatens to take his business elsewhere.

Ethan, a former Special Forces man, returns home following a near fatal accident. Ethan isn't sure what he wants to do--other than being left alone. Ethan still has nightmares and is rehabbing his knee. While helping his sisters at the rach-B&B, he encounters Mia. Judging her by her appearance and mannerisms, he KNOWS she's trouble. Is he wrong?

Woohoo🎉. Two thumbs up!!! I absolutely LOVED Ethan and Mia's story. There were soooo many life lessons, swoon-worthy moments, elderly match making antics, crazy animals, magnificent horses, a troubled college girl, and Disney!!! One can NEVER go wrong with Disney. Their family movie nights reminded me of my family's Disney movie nights as a child, every Sunday. So many life lessons are truly learned from watching Disney movies! I loved Hei Hei's crazy antics, Wheezy's ranch dog appeal, and Pheonix with a name so fitting. Jennifer Probst delivered on ALL levels. Such a loveable, funny, touching, relatable story. I can't wait to read Ophelia and Harper's stories! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Ethan, oh Ethan, how I fell for you from the minute you showed up in this book. I wanted to fix things for you and protect you while you healed both inside and out. Made me not a Mia fan at first in this book. Because she could be the one to upset his quest for peace. But what if she also the one to heal him?

I love everything that I’ve read by Jennifer Probst so far & this is added to the collection. Ethan a damaged hero is back home where he never thought he’d want to be again. His life was big cities & the battle field, but now he’s home in his small town trying to heal from his wounds. Mia is a big city girl trying to right a wrong from her past by getting the right people to where they’re supposed to be. She’s not a country girl & having to spend 3 months on a horse farm babysitting an important clients daughter is not her idea of fun. After butting heads with Ethan a few times she realizes that there’s something about him that is drawing her closer. This book will have you laughing out loud with the antics of a crazy chicken, swooning over the compassion & love that Ethan has for the horses on their farm & the caring love that he has for his sisters & new employee, troubled young Chloe, as well as drool over the chemistry between him & Mia. The only drawback to the story is that it ended, this is one of those books you wish didn’t have to end. Looking forward to reading more in this new series. Definitely recommend.

Mia Thrush is making a name for herself as the owner of a PR firm in Manhattan. When a client, who is running for mayor, asks her for a special favor with his 18 year old daughter, Mia is quick to say no. She knows he lost his wife just a year ago and Chloe, his daughter, is having a difficult time with the loss of her mother. It doesn’t make any difference to Mia that Chloe might get kicked out of college unless she does community service at a ranch. Spending her summer at a ranch with horses, is not in Mia’s to do list, but she finally relents.
Ethan Bishop was in Special Forces. Coming home to his sisters ranch was not in his plan.. however, after a failed mission where he got hurt, he needs to escape from everyone and everything. The last thing he needs is a prissy stuck up woman from Manhattan. They are like oil and vinegar, but unbeknownst to either one, they both have internal scars. So even if they have crazy chemistry, they are both really too stubborn to admit it. I loved this book as I love every book Jennifer writes!

What a wonderful start to the new Stay series! Ethan Bishop is still healing, emotionally and physically, from a tragic accident on a Special Forces mission. He has come home and is hiding away from the world. His two sisters run the family farm and Inn. They love and support Ethan and think it will help him heal if he helps with the horses and farm. After Ethan reluctantly agrees, he is given charge of a young woman sentenced by a judge to work there instead of going to jail. Chloe is so sweet but is just as lost and broken as Ethan. Mia works for Chloe's dad and is sent there to watch over his daughter. Mia is all city girl with a successful business and not ready to spend the summer on a farm. She and Ethan butt heads from the start and make false assumptions about each other. With the help of some quirky folks staying at the Inn, the three of them form a bond that is so sweet and moving. Ethan and Mia have a strong attraction and begin a summer affair. But when the summer is over and Mia heads back to the city, will Ethan be able to let her go?
I really loved Ethan, Mia, Chloe and the rest of the fun and quirky friends and family. Ethan and Mia complimented each other so well and their chemistry was off the charts. I enjoyed the family banter, along with the unconditional love and support they gave each other. This is a fun, engaging, emotional family saga, and steamy romance with so much heart! I am looking forward to reading the next book in this delightful series.

This is an excellent book about finding love when you least expect it.

Ethan Bishop returned home to his home town to heal his wounds inside and out from an accident during his time as a Special Forces paratrooper. He helps out his two sisters who run a bed and breakfast as well as a horse rescue farm. He meets Mia Thrush a fiery tightly wound PR from New York. Mia is staying at the bed and breakfast for the summer with a clients daughter while she serves her community service for some trouble she got into and Mia is trying to keep it under wraps as her father is running for Mayor.

As the summer passes Ethan and Mia find themselves getting closer and closer. Will it be a summer fling no strings attached, or will it become something more.

Ethan has returned home wounded after his career as a Paratrooper ended tragically. His injuries are much more than physical so all he wants to do is help out at the family Bed & Breakfast and horse farm and try to heal without having to socialize with other people.

Mia is a PR representative whose client is running for mayor so the last thing he needs is his daughter’s escapades to make it into the news. He has asked Mia to take his daughter to the Bed & Breakfast where she will be fulfilling her court ordered public service sentence.

The last thing that Ethan wants is an entitled city girl and her charge on the farm and the last thing Mia wants is to have to spend time with the grumpy rancher. Sparks fly from the moment they met as they have a way of getting under each other’s skin. Before too long these two opposites realize they have a lot in common and sparks of a different kind explode between them but what happens when the summer ends?

This is a heartwarming story about healing, family and new beginnings. I enjoyed the first book in this new series and I look forward to the stories about the sisters. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

THE START OF SOMETHING GOOD, is the first book from Jennifer Probst's brand new series, STAY. This is a fun read, combined with clever banter, some emotional entanglements, and a love story that is very hot. This novel can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Mia Thrush always wanted to be the public relations guru to the rich and famous. She is smart, beautiful and a rising star in the field. Mia has her hands full with her latest client, the future mayor of New York City. Unfortunately, his daughter's poor choices during college have the potential to end his candidacy, so Mia reluctantly agrees to look after her while she fulfills her community service obligation at a horse farm in upstate New York. It is there where she meets Ethan Bishop, a former Special Forces paratrooper.

Ethan's damaged body and mind are slowly on the mend, as he rediscovers the joy of living on his family's farm and fixing a broken horses' spirit. At first he and Mia can't stand the site of each other, however, overtime their attraction evolves into lust and love.

I truly enjoyed this book. Besides the enemies to lovers trope, there is a crazy chicken, some elderly matchmakers, and cups of delicious organic coffee that could give Starbucks some stiff competition. When Mia and Ethan finally get together, their roll in the hay is beyond steamy. In addition, Ethan's dominance in the bedroom left me panting. The next book in the series is about Ophelia, Ethan's sister, and I am truly looking forward to reading her story.
