This one didn't pull me in much, as the story didn't really move much. I understand it's a short story featuring sexual encounters, but I would have liked more to the plot.

Olivia was surprised when her best friend invited her brother over while his flat was being renovated. Saying she had a crush on him for years was something she failed to act upon. Sparks fly when Nate encounters her part time job and he makes a promise to spend one night with Olivia. The only problem is one night will never be enough. Quick and fun short read!

This was a book that I am so glad I decided to read. The friends hot sexy older brother meets the off limits sisters best friend What in the world could possibly go wrong? This was a book that had me hot, made me laugh, and made me gasp a time or two. I loved it. I cannot wait to read more by this author. Thank you for allowing me to read this and write about it.

I really enjoyed this one. I felt like the author gave us some time to create character and background before diving into the sex. I know these books are all about quick and dirty, but I loved how we got to see how the characters were into each other before they were dropped together as roommates for a week. I also liked the banter with the cam-girl with her viewing audience, saying she had to be quiet because her roommate’s brother was there. So funny. I’ve ready quite a few of these dirty bits, and I think this one is either the best I’ve read so far, or it’s in a very close tie. I’d definitely look for this author again.

Meh, this was okay. There were some realyl fun/hot/sexy times, but for the most part it fell flat for me. Not my favorite of the Dirty Bits.

Really Good Debut

Great debut! There is a bit of power struggle/battle of the sexes, going on between Nate and Olivia. It isn't clear who changes, and how, though. And though this isn't about the book, but the context it was released into, the assertion of cam work as a profession is an interesting placement. The author took a mostly empowered approach, but didn't fully let her woman character invest in it, other than as a defense against Nate. Given recent laws that have eliminated much of the freedom from the choices cam workers, make with the internet, I wonder what Liv would think of/do about it.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin/Carina Press for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First time reading this author. I found this to be an interesting premise -totally outside of my realm. Her job takes an amazing amount of courage-I couldn't do it.Unique plot but a little over the top for me. I rated it a 3.5. It is a short read. I was slightly uncomfortable reading parts of it.

This was a very quick read but even still I enjoyed it. While it was short and the fact that it was a romance/erotic story the story it's self didn't get lost. I enjoyed the main characters they were funny and multi denominational . You could really feel the tension between them. I liked how different they were but they didn't judge each other to much. Nice read, however parts of it reminded me of "The Girl in 6E", which is a hard book to live up to because I loved it.

I'm glad this was a novella because I found this story strange and distasteful I really didn't find it romantic or sexy. I had a hard time buying into any guy being OK with the fact that his lover is a "cam" girl and does "private shows" online for a fee. I didn't like it at all.

Turned On: Take me Private - Emma Bryson

Chloe Wallis and Olivia Barrett have been friends... forever but when Chloe has to travel for work, leaving Olivia alone in their apartment, Chloe sees an opportunity to play matchmaker to her best friend and her brother, Nate Wallis.

Nate’s shouldering the responsibilities of his family, since his dad passed away, but he’s not about to pass up the opportunity to share his sister apartment with his forever crush Liv Barrett.

A great set up of storyline, leading to a fun, flirty and dirty story, sure to entertain most readers.

Thoroughly enjoyed this new author, #EmmaBryson and look forward to reading more of her work.

I enjoy most of the other Dirty Bits books by Carina Press but this one, for me, didn’t evoke a real connection between the characters of Olivia and Nate. At least not one that the reader could see them building on to create a firm relationship.

1.5 Stars

Ok, I get it. Insta love and hot settings in a shorter novella. And, a lot of times, this can be a lot of fun, hot, and a great short read. Unfortunately, not this time.

In order for this short, hot-read, formula to work, I need to like the characters. I liked Nate, mostly, although you never really get to know all that much about him as he is a prop (figuratively and then almost literally) in Chloe's story.

Chloe, however, I struggled with. A lot. I found her insecure and that she was trying WAY too hard to pretend that she was ok with the things she does for money.

And, there were other issues with this book. I thought the set-up for them needing to stay together was...odd. It didn't make sense, and I was not convinced that it would ever happen. I guess, sort of, it helped that it was intended to be a set-up by Chloe's roommate/Nate's sister helped it a little. But not much.

I think, at least for me, I had issues with Chloe's profession...or more accurately, how defensive she was about it. If you want to be someone who does what she does fora living, that is fine. And, I need her to believe that...and she didn't. She was defensive and uncomfortable. And there just wasn't enough time in the short novella for me to believe she worked through that, or was not defensive about it. If that makes sense.

The bottom line, for me, this novella just didn't really work for me. I am not able to recommend this title.

The main characters in this book are a cam girl and her best friend's brother in a forced proximity set-up that ratchets up the sexual tension. It's hot and quick, with a limited emotional scope. This is my third Dirty Bits and the first one that I felt really fit the premise of the "brand." The first two I read (Hard Wood and the second Ash Brothers) read like a romance novella with one sex scene. This one reads more like erotic romance with several sexual situations sex driving the plot. It's tagged on NetGalley as erotica, but does deliver the promised HEA.

My BFF and roommate took off for two weeks and secretly planned for her hot older brother Nate to stay over with me while his apartment is being renovated.Nate.The guy I’ve had a raging lady boner for since we met. One night of watching me work the camera and he broke his own rule: don’t screw your little sister’s best friend. It was pretty glorious, if I do say so myself. When I started reading I couldn't put it down I read the book in one day.Emma is magnifysent writer.I cannot wait to read more of her books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.

I'm still trying to decide how I feel about this one.
It's nice to have a novella that feels semi-fleshed out as a perfectly standalone story. However, in this case, there's no denying that things moved far too quickly. (Moreso at the end than anything.) I do appreciate that the book didn't rely on the usual tropes -- bad guy, ex-boyfriend, etc. -- yet, I found the set-up by Chloe to be a bit off-putting. Surely there could have been a less creepy way to bring these characters together?

For the most part, Take Me Private does work. It does a great job at covering the camming world and reminding readers that it's still very much the female's choice to decide what she wants to do when it comes to sex and sexual activities, including camming. Unfortunately, that was the strongest part of the story for me because it felt honest. The relationship between the two main characters just progressed too fast. It would have been different had they simply slept together once, but to turn his guest room into her own work space when they hadn't even been dating more than two weeks? It seemed to be too much too fast.

Still, I will say this, if you're looking for a quick, steamy read? Take Me Private is worth the read.
