When you start reading Knock on Wood you fall in love with him. He might be Big and Burly but he is softy and romantic for Flora. This Friends to Lovers Romance will melt your heart.

I Highly Recommend all Readers to Meet these super sexy Ash Brothers.

This was a quick read novella type story about two people who pine away for one another yet both too scared to make a move.

The story straight forward steamy with characters that had some smoking hot chemistry. We loved Big Johnny all alpha, yet we see a softer side of him when it comes to him loving Flora as he isn't shy about expressing his feelings, he can be even a bit mushy even. Possessive and protective was just this man's nature!

I loved the fact that both the main characters were virgins, something you don't see often. Both Flora and Johnny knew in the heart of hearts that they were it for one another, it was just all about timing.

Cute story that made you smile, which we toughly enjoyed.

A love and attraction romance with a man who knows what he wants (we hear that a lot). He is a virgin but he wants her and goes for her. They have known each other for years but have only looked at each other from afar. Neither of them dares to take the chance but when they finally do it is amazing. But it took long for them to do it.
It is a very short but enjoyable read. I like it is in dual POV which gives the reader a lot more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. I would have liked though that his thoughts was not that he was a virgin all the time. Variation would have been nice.
A slow journey but with fire when they succeed.

Knock on wood was a short, but good book. People who don't like books with insta-love should avoid it. Actually, it's not exactly like that. The characters had feelings for each other for some time and they act on them in this book. I liked it very much and I had a great time reading it. It's wasn't a deep book, but it was a light and fun read. You must read this short, but good story. I will keep an eye for the future books in the series. The author's writing was good and she managed to get me out of my book funk, which is rare, so you can understand why I liked the book.

Knock on Wood in the second novella/short story in the Ash Brothers series for Carina Press' Dirty Bits imprint, which is designed to offer short, hot reads with HEA endings in as little time as possible, and it's the second book in the series I've read. Sadly, I didn't think it had nearly the depth or emotional impact of the first novel in this series, and I can only give it a 2-star rating.

This entry features Big Johnny Ash, at 6'7", the tallest of the Ash Brothers. He's a big, hot, relatively quiet, and aloof lumberjack, and when we first meet him in 2013, he's 25 years old, and shy, tongue-tied, virginal heroine, Flora has had her eye on him for some time. Since this story is told with alternating narration, we know almost immediately that 18-year old Flora considers herself a grown woman already and that she's in love with him, although these two characters have barely spoken two sentences to one another, and no one in their small town is known to have dated him.

Johnny is also attracted to Flora, possessive and protective of her but he's too tongue-tied to actually talk to her, and he considers the 7 year difference in their ages a problem--he's just too old to be interested in an 18-year-old girl. He also knows that she'll soon be leaving for college, and he doesn't want to interfere with that.

Fast forward 5 years and Flora has been back in town for almost a year, finishing up her internship as an accountant. While in college she didn't find any other man who interested her and is still a virgin and still in love with Johnny. What she doesn't know is that now 30-year-old Johnny is also still a virgin, having decided to save his virginity for Flora. I'm sorry, but it was nearly impossible for this reader to accept the fact that a 30-year-old man in this day and age was saving himself for marriage. I could expect such a thing from someone holding deep religious conviction and possibly heading into the priesthood, but a big, gorgeous lumberjack? Not a chance.

One evening, leaving her office rather late, Flora heads to the diner to order some dinner, and while there bumps into Johnny, also picking up his dinner, and the two have a rather short conversation until Johnny's order is ready and he leaves. When Flora leaves the diner shortly thereafter, she's got her mind on Johnny and is nearly hit by a speeding car, but Johnny races to her rescue, grabs her and pulls her out of harm's way. Seeing how shaken she is, he offers to bring her home with him, and we next see the two of them on his sofa, watching a movie, and the dual internal dialogues was total overkill.

While I wasn't thrilled with this story so far, I lost count of the number of times and the assortment of similes Johnny used to describe the state and hardness of his erection. The same was true of Flora and the wetness of her panties. I understand that the author was trying to raise the heat level leading to the big event but it truly became ridiculous. When out of the blue, Johnny suddenly proclaims his love for Flora, and Flora admits that she loves him, it's all over but the bedroom scene, which also wasn't particularly hot or steamy, and seemed rather unlikely considering the often-mentioned difference in their sizes, especially the often-mentioned size of Johnny's equipment and dainty, little Flora's virginity.

Yes, there's a short epilogue and an HEA ending to this hard to believe romance (since it really didn't contain any actual romancing), but I was so glad that Ms. Snow kept it short because in a story meant to be read from start to finish in just 1 to 2 hours, the incredibly repetitive inner dialogues and physical descriptions made this story seem almost endless.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

I have wanted to read Johnny and Flora’s story from the moment I knew they were interested in each other when I read Hard Wood! And as soon as Knock on Wood hit my kindle, I started in. I didn’t have to wait a long time before I got it, but even that little wait was worth it — I just loved Knock on Wood.

Johnny and Flora are just the sweetest couple ever. They’re both sweet and kind and down to earth. Flora is just lovely and has a good heart. Johnny’s such a nice guy, but he certainly has his possessive alphaness down. Johnny and Flora are a great couple and I loved them.

Knock on Woodis a fantastic little story. It’s full of sweetness, heart melting moments and a couple of adorkably awkward times, but I loved that. It more than met all my expectations and there’s not a single thing I would want to change about it. I love these Ash brothers and I can’t wait to read the last brother’s story!

Knock on Wood is the second book in The Ash Brothers series, but it can be read as a standalone. It’s told from Johnny and Flora’s POV and they do get their happily-ever-after.

Straight to the heat….

This is another super-quick, uber-hot instalment in the The Ash Brothers series by an author who knows how to write heat. Big Johnny is just that – big in stature (and everything else) as he quietly pines for the one that got away. But Flora is back and there is no time wasted in getting down to business…

“He was like his own mountain, big and strong, powerful and beautiful.”

While Johnny may be big, there is nothing overbearing about his treatment of Flora. There is love on both sides but it’s amazing how people can keep skirting around the truth. For years! I think they both realize it is time to do something about it. And do they ever!

If you love sweet, sexy with characters that are simply irresistible than you have found the right story! It’s a quick one – I wish it was longer – but these bites are all about quick satisfaction, and they are definitely that!

Can Jenika Snow even write a bad book? Not that I’ve seen!! The Ash Lumber series’s is definitely no exception!! Everything, but everything about these brothers is off the charts hot and amazing. As soon as I finish one couple- I find myself starving for the next. I loved Noah, adored Big Johnny!! I just can’t wait for book 3!!

This wasn't my favorite. I found it a little odd that they fell for each other after only having one conversation. Also, the way the hero kept repeating the girl's name made him feel like a simpleton to me, which I really don't think he was. I just had a little trouble getting into this one. I might decline to review, because I'd only give it three stars. If you'd still like me to post on Amazon at three stars, let me know.

Hero and heroine have been catching feelings for each other for years, the serious "god I want to marry you and build a life with you" kind of feels. The *why* they love each other bit wasn't exactly explored because of the short length, I reckon, but anyway it's a fun smutty read.

At first I want to say that these Dirty Bites books are a guilty pleasure, but I feel no guilt at reading or loving them. Knock On Wood was one I was actually excited to read. When reading Hard Wood, we got to get a glimps of Johnny and Flora. I was not really sure about Flora at first but she grew on me. Who I really wanted to know was Johnny. He's so sweet and shy! So when I saw that Knock on Wood was the next book out, I was jazzed. Both virgins, holding out for the other without knowing what the other person was thinking or feeling, when they finally get the nerve up to say something and make a move, it was just really cute.

Seriously, it's a cute story, quick, and sexy. And honestly, that's all I'm looking for with these books. Something that I can read inbetween other books. Something I can read fast when I only have a little bit of time.

Knock on Wood is another fabulously hot story by Jenika Snow. Overall a good story. Not a big fan of first person writing but I do like this one.

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆
M/F Romance

Johnny has always been a big guy. He's known as Big Johnny. He's rugged and handsome and works with his hands. Despite women always throwing themselves at him, he has always carried a torch for Flora.

Flora is a few years younger than Johnny but knew right away that she wanted to be his. Even though she had aspirations of going to college, she didn't date much and knew she wanted to come back and see if she and Johnny could have a relationship.

These two together have some great chemistry. It was also a sweet touch, despite not being incredibly realistic, that both were virgins when they finally get together. It gives the story a sentiment that is sweet and loving all wrapped together.

I hope more brothers are coming!

This is the second book in the trilogy of Ash Brothers. If you have read Hard Wood, you will know a little about the pairing in this book – but you could enjoy it as a standalone too.

The story starts when Flora is just 18 and about to go away to college. We learn that both she and Johnny have eyes only for each other... but it takes a while for them to take the chance. Very endearingly, they have both waited for their first to be with each other.

Fast forward to now – which is a very wise plot device in a short story! – and we get to see them finally take the plunge (pun intended) and it is very sweet, hot, and meant to be. I like that we get a strong hint at how the next book is going to progress too.

A hot little book which can be read in less than 2 hours...preferably by a pool with a cocktail in hand. You got to love an author who doesn't mess about and says it as it is without flowery descriptive words for the human anatomy. Massive thumbs up. Keep going...I already put the previous book on my Amazon wishlist.

Flora and Big Johnny were perfect for eachother. Both virgins and not with others. They have both lived each other for years but Big Johnny let her go off to college but now shes back and he ready to get his girl. Perfectly sweet and sexy! Cant wait for the next book.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin/Carina Press for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I couldn't really believe this storyline.. I found it interesting but unbelievable. They want the same thing?? A very quick read. I rated it a 3.

Big Guys Fall the Hardest...They Say

I loved the sweetness of two folks who wait for the right time with each other...but the tension of the longing looks, was a bit much. I was screaming at the characters to "GET ON WITH IT!!!" I mean, someone, say SOMETHING! That part felt really drawn out and unnecessarily, painful. Why torture yourself? It's never clear in the story, what makes them so very unsure of each other.

The rest of the story is good, and the steamy scenes are a pay-off for a torturous build-up.

Knock on Wood, book two in The Ash Brothers series.

This is a short quick read, dirty and steamy. The story is well written and with all the feels.
I just wish it had been a little bit longer because it felt a little rush at the end. Enjoyable and entertaining, nonetheless!!

ARC Kindly provided by Carina Press via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review!

A super hot and fun short read. This is book #2 in this series and is every bit as fantastic as book #1. The chemistry between Johnny and Flora is intense and sizzling. A really cute story about two people that are scared to share their feelings for each other, but the feelings are strong enough that they are both willing to remain celibate because no one else will do. Sweet, steam, passionate, romantic and sometimes humorous, I loved this book and can not wait for book #3.
