Johnny and Flora have loved each other for years and yet neither have expressed their feelings to the other. Johnny wanted Flora to go away to college and fulfill her dreams so he held back. Now that she’s returned home he’s so hungry for her he’s afraid he’s going to screw up his one chance. Flora is a bit shy when it comes to Johnny. She doesn’t want to ruin anything between them and so she’s remained silent regarding her emotions. After a serendipitous meeting and near miss, they finally have their moment.
This is a quick steamy read with absolutely no angst or drama. It’s a simple story of two people waiting for the opportunity to relay the depth of their feelings. There’s not a lot of plot here but it is sugary sweet and the perfect snack for in between longer reads. This is all insta-everything and a very enjoyable little story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Carina Press. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Knock on Wood by Jenika Snow
The Ash Brothers #2
Short quick romance between two people that have wanted to be together for years but were too shy to communicate their interest. I had a bit of trouble believing that the two were so enamored with one another that no other person caught their eye for five years – or longer – but the story based this sweet but also steamy story on that and the idea that the two had kept themselves pure until their time together happened…in this novella. One more brother to go – the hook for that story with who might end up with is implied in this one.
Thank you to NetGalley and Carina Press for the ARC – this is my honest review.

This is one short steamy sweet read from Jenika Snow, a small town romance and I like it.
He loves her, she loves him, but both afraid too afraid of rejection and now they're done acting like a coward. Will they finally together, will they finally man up and say what they're trully feeling towards eaaaach other.
Oh yeah it has sweet simple romance story and there's steaminess too. Not much drama though, but I enjoy it nonetheless.
As for characters, I like Johny and Flora as a couple, they're just so sweet together, although her insecurities a bit annoying sometimes and unnecessary and I wished there's more about them too, because everything happened too fast.
If you're looking for short fast-paced sweet steamy read, you'll like this one.
*I voluntarily received a review copy of this book
Knock on Wood by Jenika Snow is book Two in The Ash Brothers series. This is the story of Flora and Johnny. I have not yet read the previous book so for me this was a standalone book.
Flora is way younger than Johnny and always had a crush on him. When she tries to talk to him she can't seem to get the words out when she wants to tell him how she feels before going off to college. But she doesn't and leaves the area for school About 5 years later she sees Johnny again and her feelings are just as strong. Johnny always had a thing for Flora but he wanted her to go to school and experience life but now she is back and he won't be able to stop his feelings for her.
This was a Hot Quick Read!
Knock on Wood is a short but sweet romance novel. Johnny and Flora pine after each but too afraid to share their feelings.
Johnny thinks he's too old and Flora thinks she's too young. After a brief separation these two decided to make a go of it.
While I enjoyed it I think it needed more of a storyline.
It was a entertaining enough however I didn’t like it as much as her other stories. I don’t particularly care for virgin heroes. Johnny has been in love with Flora since she was 18, he was in his mid-twenties at the time. I could se him remaining a virgin and waiting for her if they had been closer in age.
This was a very short read I actually finished the whole book in under half an hour. The main characters are adorable and it was sweet to see how much they love each other. There were a lot of sparks flying between the main characters and while it was a bit much at some times it was nice to see them having their moment and thriving when the pieces finally came together. Both main characters were to shy to confess their feelings so when it finally comes to light that they both feel the same way they were instantly connected. Cute read.
If you have an hour for a sexy read this is it. I found it hard to believe an almost thirty year old man was a virgin, Snow made me believe. It works for this extremely shy quiet guy. Put two quiet and reserved people together you get awkward silence, blurted words of love and passionate love making. There are three Ash brothers, each book belongs to a separate one so the stories are independent. My copy came through Netgalley and my review written voluntarily.
Definitely not as good as the first installment. Yes in the first story you meet both characters and you know of the tension between them but not much else. This story is very quick and there isn't much to it. You don't have a lot of personality building for either characters.
Knock on Wood - Jenika Snow
Knock on wool is Book #2 in the Ash Brothers series by Jenika Snow and what a sweet, sexy and wonderful story it was.
Flora Beaumont leaves her mountain home Rockbridge, to attend college but her heart is smitten with the big tall lumberjack Johnny Ash. The only problem is, he doesn’t seem to know she exists and her heart is totally his.
5 years later she returns to Rockbridge and Johnny’s still her secret crush. But what happens when two people have a secret crush on each other???? You’ll have to read it to find out but a thoroughly sweet story with enough detail in this short to still engage the reader.
Looking forward to more Ash Brothers.
I liked the previous novella in the Ash Brothers series, Hard Wood, so I was looking forward to reading the next story featuring Johnny and Flora, who were both introduced in that book. Unfortunately, this one didn’t work as well for me.
Johnny is the second Ash brother, and he’s the definition of the strong silent type. Flora, who’s seven years younger, also grew up in the small mountain town of Rockbridge, but left to go to college. She’s been in love with Johnny for as long as she can remember, and Johnny’s been in love with her since her eighteenth birthday. They’ve been back in the same town for almost a year, but neither has been able to confess their feelings for each other.
It’s a undeniably sweet story, but I felt like too much time was spent on each character moping and yearning for the other, and not as much on the two actually communicating. For such a short story, a lot of the internal monologue felt much too repetitive – each character is too old/young for the other, or too pretty or too whatever. Once they actually start communicating – by a blurted out “I love you,” which was absolutely adorable – they move quickly to having rampant bunny sex, which, given that they were both virgins, seemed a bit varied to me.
Overall, while this one missed the mark for me, I’ll be picking up the third one for sure!
I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
RATING 4.5 STARS
Knock on Wood is the second book in The Ash Brothers series by Jenika Snow. This is a very short, insta love, insta lust story that will leave you feeling plenty of warm and fuzzies.
Johnny Ash and Flora Beaumont love each other. The problem being that neither one of them has told the other. Johnny is a lumberjack, working with his brothers in their family owned business.
Johnny and Flora have barely spoken over the years. Johnny is seven years older than Flora and it was on her eighteenth birthday he first noticed her as a woman. He knew right away that she was the only woman for him. But she had plans to go away to college and he didn’t want to get in the way of that. So he kept his feelings to himself.
Flora is completely tongue tied whenever Johnny is around. So she mostly prefers to worship him from a distance. They have hardly ever even spoken. But she loves him. Through all the years of college, she saves herself for Johnny, not even knowing if he could have found someone else.
Johnny has never felt any sort of attraction to any other woman than Flora. So he saved himself for her. If she found another man that makes her happy then he will just have to face a lifetime alone because no other woman will ever do.
What will it take to finally get these two to have a real conversation, to finally tell each other how they feel? Or, will they wait too long? This is a very quick read but a perfect little feel good story that is sure to make you smile. I love these. I love knowing that I won’t have to wait long for my happily ever after. I can guarantee you that this will heat things up as well. Jenika Snow most definitely has a talent for writing steam. This was such a fun little book and I definitely want to read more from this series!
Knock on Wood is the second book in the Ash brother series. This was a super short but sweet romance story. Johnny and Flora were absolutely adorable together. Can't wait for Liam's book.

This is another fun read from Jennika Snow. The build up for these two characters in the first book was fun, and I was looking forward to this one. There are lots of fun, unique elements in this one, especially with Johnny having Flora as his first - and only - girlfriend, a refreshing point of view. But while the Dirty Bits short, hot stories from Carina are a good idea in this case I wanted a little more buildup from the characters. I could easily have read a longer book about these two!
Big Johnny and Flora have been in love since they were younger but have not done more than have a few shy conversations. When they finally meet as adults and agree to get together, the fire blazes quickly and they quickly realize their love. Not enough stories are written well about first love from the male point of view as well as the female and this is a rewarding, if short read.
The angst of unrequited love. The unimaginable high of love fulfilled. That is this story. Johnny and Flora skate around each other until one of them feels it’s time to take a leap and go for it. Love... hot, steamy, sensual, and romantic. This has it all!
Hot lumberjack lusting after a girl for five years. Watching and observing and wanting. The girl lusting after him but both are too afraid to make a move.
This is fast and short read with predicted plot.
The characters were a bit repetitive in their thoughts and decision. I didn't see him as alpha male even though he had potential at first. I guess it's hard to develop good characters in such a short time.
The sex was ok and the ending was predictable HEA but sweet.
Quick short and easy read. Love Jenika's books. Love a hot lumberjack. Loved every second. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
➳Gotta love when we have a possessive alpha male, that has been waiting his whole entire life to be with his one true mate but obstacles are in the way of him getting much further...
➳From the previous novel in THE ASH BROTHERS series, we got a better understanding of what we would be able to find and read in this new upcoming novel. "Big Johnny" and Flora, have been separated by the obstacles that life had put them through. Even though college, the age difference, the hardships of being together becomes something they both have to endure, Flora and Johnny finally come to a realization that their sizzling romance is one that cannot be diminished or ignored.
➳This is a very quick review due to the fact that this novel is smutty, sizzling with romance left and right, up and down, with the whole package of a possessive alpha male who only wants to pound on his one and true mate that will be his for the rest of life. Insta-love is a triggering point for some, so if you are not into them then I highly recommend passing this one away because this puppy is filled with instant attraction that makes your whole body shake with desire and passion for Flora and Johnny. Overall this was such a cute romance that I absolutely devoured and enjoyed more than what I thought I would have...
They call me Big Johnny, and they’re not wrong. I’m big all over, and burly, too. Flora. There’s never been a time when she wasn’t on my mind, not even when she left Rockbridge for college. Those four years were the hardest of my life. Literally.Saving myself for her has never been the problem. It’s telling her how I feel. She’s back now and it’s painfully obvious to even a lumberjack like me: Flora’s not a teenager anymore. She’s a woman who knows what she wants. When I started reading I couldn't put it down I read the book in one day.Jenika is magnifysent writer.I cannot wait to read more of her books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.
