This was a well organized cookbook, with mostly quick and easy to follow recipes. I really enjoyed many of the recipes included, but there were a lot of recipes with chia seeds so I felt like there could have been a bit more variety. Overall, it's good for anyone looking for some healthy, but easy meal options.
Low Carb on the Go is a bit disappointing as far as new cookbook material goes. Most of these recipes are readily available from an internet or Pinterest search. I did not find many unique recipes. There were a lot involving chai seeds, which could be nice for someone wanting to experiment with chai pudding flavors.
Overall, the pictures were nice and appealing but there just wasn’t enough “new” content.
Good resource regarding carbs. Very helpful. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on my review.
Loads of healthy recipes. Some I've tried, others are ear marked to try. There was a great explanation of good vs bad carb which I think confuses most people. It is a helpful go to book for newbies and those that are carb savvy.
This is a short, well illustrated book of healthy low-carb recipes. There are great photos of the recipes and limited nutritional information is provided (calories, carbs, fat and protein, but no information like fiber, sodium or vitamins). Examples of the recipes are almond milk, a green smoothie bowl, Asian noodle soup and coco chia bowl. There are LOTS of chia recipes.
I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.
Watching carbs and eat out a lot? This book will teach you how and where to look for places to eat when you are not at home. Very insightful and helpful
Low Carb On The Go is not a book about not eating carbs but about eating healthy carbs and finding exchanges for the not so healthy carbs. Their drinks look delicious in the full-color pictures the book provides. My favorite recipe is what the authors call “Oopsies” which is a protein bun made out of eggs and cream cheese and it is a heavenly yum for your avocado and tomato sandwich. They’ve included different types of bread, breakfast ideas, salads, soups, and desserts. My favorite part is the full-color pictures which I think makes a cookbook a great cookbook. And I’m looking forward to planning my menu for the week with these great ideas.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This cookbook is great not only for its low-carb recipes, but for its emphasis on portability (something that is lacking in most recipes, whether low-carb or not). Portable lunches were the aspect of our food choices that needed the most upgrading, and this book assisted with that issue!
Great for those looking to change up their diet, so ideal for public libraries. If you want to make your lunch healthier, but don't have much time to meal prep you should check out this title.
I thought this was a little too intensive for recipes that were supposed to be on the go. That being said there were some interesting things from it that I will be trying out.
As a mom of 2 little ones, I appreciated this cookbook a lot. I love the nutrition information at the bottom, but the design and layout left a lot to be desired. I appreciate the simplicity, but it looks like very little time went into the design.
Thank you, NetGalley for an advance reader copy.
This is my first low carb cookbook and I really learned a lot. The recipes are simple and easy to use. One of my issues is bread. I love it and don’t want to give it up, but this book has low carb breads that I cannot wait to try. I enjoyed how the author explained what low carb is and the healthy benefits one will gain from it. I look forward to using the book more in my quest to go low carb.
This is a well organized cookbook based on the premise that you are looking to prepare low carb meals or snack that you will then transport and (often reheat) and serve. It's very organized and contains many great pictures of the recipe dishes. There's a thorough introduction section that discusses carbs, and the low carb approach the authors are recommending; for many readers, this section may be unnecessary, but I thought it was well written and informative. The recipes themselves are presented in several sections: Breakfast, Breads and Spreads, Vegetarian, Meat and Fish, Snacks and Cakes. There is a very detailed index at the end, making it easy to locate a particular recipe if you are looking for it. Many of the recipes use the layered jar idea--you pack all the ingredients into a jar in a particular sequence, and then when you are ready to eat, you will remove the food from the jars and "finish". I found that in many recipes, that means heating or reheating some items. Most recipes do include an "At Work" serving tip section that clearly tells you what to do once you are ready to eat. This particular book did not quite meet my personal needs as many of the recipes are fairly complicated and require a lot more up front prep than I personally have time for, and the recipes that appealed to me the most required reheating, which I am unable to do at work. BUT, there is a wide variety of low carb meal options in this book, and I definitely think this book is right for a lot of people. I will be making several of the recipes for at-home meals, I just won't be taking them on the go.
A salad in a jar is beautiful thing. But for it to remain so until eaten, things ned to go in a certain order. The authors show what needs to go in first with fun visuals.
You get a list of low carb substitutes
Each smoothie and pudding is so appetising with a slice of a fruit facade.
Raspberry Chia spread. I havent come across fruit and chai combinations before.
Cashew citrus cream. I have had it only with jaggery or spicy dough. I am sure the citrus tang weakened by cashew cream should have a mild taste to it.
Tomato Dip. Chunky with cream cheese is intriguing.
Oopsies or cloud bread made news a while ago.
You will be introduced to recipes with many natural alternative grain breads. spelt flour, hemp seeds - your pantry will feel like a whole foods or sprouts store.
Power Loaf, Fitness Baguette all send a subliminal message of being fit and healthy.
I like the small data table at the bottom with protein, carb and fat content.
A spiralizer can be very handy when you want to have low carb noodles like cucumber noodles and zoodles (zucchini noodles).
Cauliflower egg muffins
Coconut protein Powder
Beautiful book with yummy recipes! I am excited about the cottage baguette because I am currently trying the keto diet and I think that might just fit in the guidelines. My only wish is that the author had included the fiber count in the nutrition information of the recipes.
Low Carb on the Go" is an informative, helpful recipe book for beginners to experts. It explains what eating low carb is, how it can help you be healthier. This book lists many easy recipes, from breakfast bowls and smoothies, to snacks and suppers, so that you can make delicious meals, including creamy shakes and puddings, without all the extra calories from sugar and simple carbohydrates. This book includes recipes for cakes, sauces, breads and spreads, salads, and even lasagna with a healthier alternative to pasta. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to eat healthier, lose weight, or just feel better and have more energy! A low-carb lifestyle is simple and worth it!
I have not been able to get this title to download so I cannot offer feedback. I've tried so many different ways but I cant get it to open on my computer or in the kindle app. Too bad because I wanted to see the recipes! When I go to the "I will not be giving feedback on the title" page it won't let me send the reason why so I've posted it here. Sorry.
I want to try every recipe in this book! I love how easy these recipes are to prepare and how convenient they are to bring along with you.
There are too many recipes that I will never eat. Nut allergies don't allow for almond milk. Chocolate smoothie made with avocado just doesn't sound good. Breads and main dishes didn't tempt me. But - I don't have a very open mind when it comes to food. I am sure that the right person will love this book.
This is a great book full of easy ideas to make eating a low carb totally feasible away from home. A little preparation goes a long way and there are plenty of recipes to get a beginner a confidence boost and even some that are perfect for the experienced low-carber. As one that's been doing this for a long time now and a bariatric patient, I'm always looking for new ideas to break out of the bordem that can send me a bit astray. Planning is everything for me, and this adds more to my arsenal. Thanks so much to the authors, publisher, and netgalley for the opportunity to read this book.
