I thought that this was an adorable read about friends Stacey and Grant who accidentally kiss one night and their lives are forever changed. It was a sweet read and one that didn't drag. I really loved reading about Stacey's career, Dinner for Two and actually would have loved to see more of that. But ultimately, was really happy with how the story went.

Stacey Winters loves the idea of being in love but has yet to find it. The only constant male in her life it her best friend, Grant Phillips and they are very supportive of each other but nothing more . . . or are they? When she returns home expecting her boyfriend to be there she strips and slips into bed with him - but it isn’t her boyfriend, the man in her bed is Grant! Their kisses alter their relationship and expectations for both of them. However, she’s still looking for her HEA whilst he has commitment issues after being shuffled around the foster care system. Can they learn to trust each other and give their love a chance to develop and flourish?

I’m going to be honest from the start in this review and admit that my favourite character in this delightful romcom wasn’t the hero or heroine but was Justin, a wise octogenarian who is still very much in love with his wife of more than sixty years. I think he’s the kind of man most women would love to have loving them - kind, considerate and still very much in love with her after all those years. As a couple they are so sweet!

This is a sweet romance written with humour and just a touch of angst. It is a great read when you’re looking for something light, fun and romantic to read

I requested and was lucky enough to be given a copy of this novel, via NetGalley, with no obligation. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.

Although I found this book to be a bit challenging to get into initially, I did enjoy it! I found the flow of the first few chapters to be a bit off. I would definitely read another book by Melia Alexander. I look forward to reading future books to see how her writing style moves forward!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a sweet, fun friends to lovers story. I imagine if two lifelong friends suddenly fell for each other this is exactly how it would happen.

There was a bit of back and forth that could’ve been frustrating if it wasn’t so understandable. Grant has a fear of people leaving and Stacey is a dreamer. They have completely opposing views on love and relationships and are therefore completely oblivious to the idea that they could be perfect for each other.

I enjoyed this story but feel like it lacked that spark that had me really invested in the characters as individuals. I think if you’re looking for an easy, sweet read to pass the time, this book is an excellent choice.

This is the first that I have read from this author and she did keep me interested enough that I will most likely read another book from her. So in this book we have a friends to lovers story. Grant and Stacey have been best friends and they don't want to rock the boat, why because they both want different things. Stacey wants a committed relationship and love, while Grant doesn't believe in either of those things and he has a background that you could understand where it is coming from. My issue was the indecisiveness mainly coming from Grant and it was hard because he was really attracted to her.. So what happens? Does he give in? Does he ruin the best thing that happened to him by having Stacey as a friend or keep her in best friends status? well you need to read. I still recommend.. Enjoy!

I'm not really sure what to say about this one.

I enjoyed reading it. It is simple and fast to read featuring cute characters. It just... it only focuses on the romance. So, this is something I know doesn't bother people, but for me it makes the book feel shallow and not as fulfilling. I like learning about the characters, who they are apart from one another, but here most of the scenes are either together, or they are thinking about each other. I just wanted more from them.

Also, I thought the way the romance went, wasn't super fun to follow along. Even though they are best friends, it is pretty such insta-love in this book and I thought the conflict was kinda meh -- although I might just be tired of that type of problem and misunderstanding.

I will say my favorite part of this book is the relationship, or the way Grant and Stacey act with one another. They are super respectful of each other and the boundaries they've made. Grant continuously makes sure Stacey is comfortable with what they are doing and WOW. Seriously, besides his commitment issues, this is an example of how people can act respectful and healthy in a relationship.

So, if you are looking for a fluffy romance, a little something to fill the time, and/or a book with a guy who acts decently, this is the one for you.

A light friends to lover story that is written with an easy enjoyable style. That being said, the story just didn’t wow. While it had its moments, the only true conflict came from Grant’s insecurities. It is a tired old trope that is tedious at best. There is nothing glaringly wrong with the novel, everything is just underwhelming.

The Best Friend Incident isn't my usual type of romance. But I have to say it made for a nice change. As it was a sweet, humorous, lighthearted read. That drew me in from the start and kept me engaged throughout.
Plus, I liked both main characters and the way they went from best friends to lovers without much hassle, heavy emotion or angst.
And so I would recommend this story to others. Especially if you like your romance sweet and light.

What happens when the one constant in your life becomes a question mark? Or in plain English, what happens when you accidentally kiss your best friend? Not just any kiss, a kiss that evokes naughty thoughts and filthy dreams.

What happens then...this book. The Best Friend Incident is a cute and sweet story about the kiss that changed it all. It's a fun and quick read that will leave you smiling.

I received a copy of THE BEST FRIEND INCIDENT on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author.

Four stars and here's why:

THE BEST FRIEND INCIDENT has a great book cover. No joke. I got sucked in just from the cover and title alone! But then, I started reading the book and Melia Alexander delivers a sweet and sexy story that is so hard to put down. The pacing is great, the characters realistic, and the first few pages….well, I made the mistake of starting this book on my lunch hour. So much for getting that project done on time! ;)

I love the premise. The best friends to lovers is one of my favorite plots, because the relationship is already established and so the author can really run with the plot and characterization. **fans herself** Stacey and Grant are best friends who surf the friend zone rather than take their relationship to the next level for their own valid reasons. When there’s an accidental hook-up, the two friends must come to terms with how they’ll navigate their friendship and what happens next will have you laughing, crying, banging your head against a wall, and then laugh some more.

If you love hella-hot guys, sassy girls, and a sexy romance, then this book is for you! Highly recommend!

Best friends Grant and Stacey find their relationship changing after they accidentally end up in the same bed one night. In this cute quick read there are some great characters and a fun struggle as they come to terms with their new and changing feelings. It's well written and although predictable, it's a very entertaining read.

I highly recommend this one.

I am always a sucker for best friends to lovers story. Stacy and Grant have been best friends forever. Never seeing each other as more because they don't want things to change or gamble what they have. But one kiss changes and makes them question everything. I enjoyed this story. I understand the back and forth thinking of what would happen if they didn't work out, the loop is an endless cycle until they both want to take the gamble. They were made for each other. I would recommend this to other readers.

I received this story in exchange for my honest opinion.

NB: I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to Netgalley, Entangled Publishing and the author.

I really liked this book. I'll just put it like that. I nearly always love Entangled's books, and this was no exception. This book truly had heart and I freely admit that I cried in nearly all the scenes with Julian and Martha in it. The whole best friend romance was really sweet.

Great job to Melia Alexander and to Entangled!

This is a sweet friends to lovers romance. The two main characters, Stacey and Grant, were great together. I loved that they were honest with one another and that they acted like adults. Too often stories get bogged down in the melodrama of misunderstandings, but this story stayed realistic. It just made it all the better. I loved how they supported and encouraged each other, and the little things they did for one another were so sweet. I definitely recommend this one.

Stacey is in love with love and looking for it in all the wrong places. There's always been something wrong with each guy she's dated -- they're boring, they're lazy, they're cheaters -- but she's optimistic about this last one. When she finds him asleep in her bed one night, she sneaks in next to him and wakes him up with a kiss. The kiss is amazing, but it's not her boyfriend in her bed. It's her best friend, Grant, a commitment-phobe who she most certainly isn't interested in like that... right?

This is a really quick read! I read it in about an hour and a half and it wasn't bad, but it's not my favorite Entangled book. It's the second in a series and I would definitely recommend reading Driven to Temptation first since I felt like I was missing something. Grant and Stacey were cute and their friendship was very sweet, but I didn't really feel like I knew them. I'm assuming that this was established more in the previous book and that's why it wasn't a focus here.

I was also a little put off by the excessive drama in establishing the relationship. Grant and Stacey had already made out within the first few pages of the book, so I wasn't clear on why they were so worried about "ruining the friendship" by exploring their attraction. The damage is done! Putting a label on it isn't going to change anything.

Overall, this is a cute story but it doesn't have a ton of depth. I think it would be good for a beach read -- something light and fluffy that you don't really have to devote a lot of attention to.

Final rating: ★★★☆☆

A romantic tale of two best friends falling slowly in love. You can tell from the start there is something more between these two best friends, but they are struggling to overcome their fears of losing their friendship. Yet isn’t friendship how many of the best relationships begin?

It's a sweet, lighthearted; a perfect rom com. I loved it! This is my favorite kind of romance, where two best friends who are unable to find love finally find it with each other. Stacey and Grant have been friends since they were kids. Stacey believes in romance, love, happily-ever-afters, and everything that should come with it. She wants a perfect guy and a perfect love story of her own. Grant, on the other hand, hates commitment. His belief is that people leave you sooner or later so better not hope for ever-afters. They don't exist anyway. But soon they both realize that life is a mixture of good and bad, and the only way you can make it work is if you compromise a little and give others a chance.
I loved both Stacey and Grant, they are perfect for each other and their story is quite entertaining. I enjoyed reading it and would definitely recommend to romance fans; don't be a cynic, just give it a try. ;)

Review: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥❣

A romantic comedy which is funny and sexy. Yes, please!

The best friend Incident ticked all the right boxes. Stacey has a new boyfriend Leo. He works out of town and is a little too good to be true. He's a sexy travelling musician and Stacey has convinced herself he is the one. Stacey is an old romantic. She believes a man should hold the door and treat his women like a lady. When Stacey returns to her home she is about to get a huge shock. Her sexy night with the man of her dreams might not go as expected but it definitely helps her find her ever after.

Grant has commitment issues. His mother abandoned him when he was younger and he has never recovered. He isn't looking for Mrs Right. He is looking for Ms right now.

Stacey and Grant have been best friends for a long time. They have never considered more with each other until the "incident". Now everything has changed and these two need to work out what they want. Their relationship is a mess. Lustful looks and some sexy talk.

This is a sweet friend to more romance. It has Witty banter and a good storyline. 4.5 stars out of 5.

I am big fan of the friends to lovers trope so I knew I would like this book. I liked the main characters and the rapport they share and I felt like their doubts and hesitation about changing their relationship felt like a natural conflict. I loved the side characters Julian and Martha who offered their wisdom and guidance and I found myself wanting to know more about their love story. I didn't realize this was a part of a series so clearly this story works as a standalone. If you are a fan of friends to lovers stories then I think you would enjoy this book.
