I couldn't get into this book. Sorry about that. Maybe I'll give it a try again later down the line.

An enjoyable Highland story , but a little slow in places .
Saying that it a good story , Declan is a lovely, Braw ,thoughtful character he oozes Charm .
Caya is sort of a timid , light character with a core if steel .
The two combine beautifully to give the book a reason to continue reading , you just want to see these two together, and it’s something to look forward to.
It’s a story with plenty of depth I just wish it had moved a little faster .
I read an advanced copy of this book and chose to submit a review

There's nothing as delightful as being a fan of the Scottish accent, especially in writing because you get to read "wee" and "lassie" and "dinae" and no one will fault you for it. Well, at least not your, very British education background. So, let's get the oath out of the way and get down to business, "I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own and the best way to challenge or question them is to get the book and read it."
Declan Sinclair is a man of dreams. Yes, he's the Scottish version of Joseph, but this time he's in a tavern and spots the woman whom he believes is his wife. Caya's with her brother Jack. Jack drinks and gambles and at some point, he walks up to Declan and his cousins and engages them in a game, where he wagers his sister. Declan wins and he gets to take Caya home, but there's more to just having her in their home. They need time to come to terms with how they feel out each other, but there's also Jack and O'Malley whom he owes, and the two can't let Caya be.
It's a pretty straightforward plot with some twists and turns. I do wish some of these twists were eliminated, but nonetheless, the two do make a lovely couple.

This story was nice to read but on the whole the characters, as well as the story, were lacking some depths. The description sounded promising but it often felt as if some unnecessary obstacles were put up just for the sake of prolonging the story. A bit more depth and a faster development of the story would have been appreciated.
I liked the story but I really had a problem to understand why Declan still has to court Caya or better, why this whole curting has to be so very difficult. It really doesn't make much sense in my eyes. Okay, right, I know why his uncle thinks that things should go that way but considering all circumstances I can't understand it.
Despite all that it is a nice and entertaining story.
